And here you are using your mobile phone. People were no different back then. The old were completely isolated for the most part - there were campaigns to check on elderly neighbours. All that's happened is that your turn to be old has come.
It’d be so cool to go back in time and celebrate New Year’s Eve the way they did back then. (Going to Central London where it’s not too crowded and seeing the technology/beers/food/shops/places that were popular back then)
Dot and Ethel used to be so funny together. Eastenders was a pleasure to watch back then. Had characters in it who were actually likeable people. The current cast are rude, ill mannered, badly spoken pigs.
Also, the current cast can't act for shit. We used to have proper actors on the soaps, now we have people you can't distinguish between some mediocre person off the street.
I was born in 1988 and I was the generation that was conned into going to university and pay £30,000- only for us to be in recession when I graduated! Every generation has challenges, I am guilty of looking at a previous generation and being envious.
They are all so polite and well spoken compared with how it has all panned out now-a-days. But the clothes look better now; here the clothes look like second-hand shop clothes. . No foreigners on the show; the chanel tunnel hadn't yet opened. No gays either! .
