I like the idea that the leaders of Biotechnica genuinely do care about repairing the damage done to the environment but are willing to do anything to get that done, regardless of the cost in human lives. Maybe in their eyes, humans are abundant and thus not a necessary concern.
Honestly I DO hope CDPR decides to depict them as such in Orion, because that honestly would make them even more evil in a way. A 'make the world a better place no matter the cost' mindset for Biotechnica's leadership would be way more scary.

Descriptions of the Cyberpunk world like this one make me feel that Cyberpunk is one of the most misunderstood genres ever. Writers like Gibson were all "We paint a picture of a Dystopia caused by Unlimited Technological Advances and Growing Corporate Power" and a large part of the Readers, at the very least many "Tech-Bros", reacted with "Cool, let's make that a Reality."
I think alot of that stems from them seeing "how good things are for the guys on top" and they think they'll be in those positions if they create the tech you see in the genre.
I remember I was randomly watching a v-tuber and they seriously mentioned something like "i wish there were cyberpunk body-modifications in real life. I really hope we can get to a future where that's a thing. I think it'd be so cool" For context, they didn't say this a joke. She was a "political vtuber" and she would often talk about serious topics, and she honestly had really good and really well-rounded points most of the point. She wasn't the type that'd strike me as superficial or short-sighted. So for her to so casually mention something so dystopian as something so positive was scary. Your body is not a bionicle. Your body has perfectly evolved over millions of years to suit your need. Every part of your body is interconnected with the other, even if it's not immediately obvious. The bone marrow in your limbs supplies immune cells to every corner of your body. You can't just replace an arm for a cool shiny robot arm. Your body will notice that there's not an arm where they SHOULD be one, and that will affect your health noticeably. I DO NOT want to live in a future where that's considered normal...
The idea of cybernetic body parts is fascinating purely aesthetically and thematically, and is generally cool in a vacuum but as an actual idea it's pretty horrific both mentally and for a society as you said. Things are already bad enough in this world, where you may as well be owned by corporations due to needing to make a living wage to survive and for health care and all that (at least in America of course) but then Cyberpunk has a huge theme of amplifying that up to 10 with them LITERALLY owning your body. Planned obselesence, payment plans for constant upgrades for your own body parts, it's a disaster. And the whole Cyberpsychosis aspect makes a lot of sense considering how people can feel dissociated from their body already with prosthesis. A bit of a shame we didn't get to see it more in depth in the story (Beyond side characters in the Regina missions) @@qwertydavid8070

Cyberpunk games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus ex is a prelude of what to expect for the rest of the 21st century and beyond. Cybernetics and Genetic engineering already exist but is not as sophisticated just like it's depicted in cyberpunk. I give it by until 2040-60s is when we will actually live in a cyberpunk future. Daily reminder, any giant mega corporation doesn't genuinely give a shit about the world or it's consumers. A corporation isn't a person, it's a complex. And it's goal is to make as much profit as possible. The only real reason why companies are trying to seem more "eco friendly" nowadays is to hopefully pull at the consumer's heart strings, giving them the illusion that "maybe that corpo really does have a soul". It doesn't, seeming friendlier in general just helps it attract more customers
Then why are you watching a video about Cyberpunk? It's a dystopian universe, everything sucks. And yeah, if there was an actual nuclear war in the real world it would absolutely change the way the climate works for decades if not millenia.
To be fair Cyberpunk’s universe 100% would effect the climate. It’s like having India’s pollution except all over the world, not even counting the nukes and radioactive shit 🤷♂️
My man, it's Cyberpunk, it is meant to be literally worst timeline of what we have now, plus you can weaponize your body so a depression will go 10000% harder due to implants and make you start murdering people.

@@DestructorN7 evolution is never ending mother nature works to slowly so we take it into our hands. Cybernetic & genetic modification & enhancement are here or coming soon evolve or be left behind.
I'll take the robot overlords over that. at least computers are driven by logic. current ideology madness is driven by fever dream insanity
Neurallink is fielding human trials this year and neural implants is the basis of cybernetic implants. It's games like this that makes me want to align by career path to developing human augmentation.
I love Biotechnica. They are the friendliest megacorp in the entire Cyberpunk universe.Arasaka and Militech commited heinous crimes, but what Biotechnica did?Just some lands rushing, biological weapon and a bugged painkillers. That's better than most megacorps of the Cyberpunk universe.
If you do some of the NcPD missions and look at the data logs Biotech is just as bad if not worse than the other two, the other two are just outwardly easy to point out
Yeah, they're just the corporation version of Unit 731
@@artorhen at least for the most part they didn't weld people together into a cursed abomination and call it a day
@@The_United_States_Of_America76 that we know of.

Sasha deserved better :'(
The painkiller story is basically an analogy for how CD project red released cyberpunk before it was ready for human consumption 🥴
So mich like Shadowrun
But without the fantasy races
Not enough Dragons and Trolls with miniguns.
Which anime are the scenes from? :0
Ochre is pronounced oker
Thank you! I wish more content creators would look up how to pronounce words instead of saying them how they think they sound. It can ruin a whole video.
hello Choomba! Biotechnica Puppets marionettes and puppet Masters Androids gynoids cyborgs...Mr Blueyes
pinned for ten years.
I'm so fucking tired of hearing about climate change.
It's the Cyberpunk genre...ever seen Bladerunner?
My man, it's Cyberpunk, it is meant to be literally worst timeline of what we have now, plus you can weaponize your body so a depression will go 10000% harder due to implants and make you start murdering people.
You can't ignore it no matter how much you want to.
Pretty funny there was a Pfizer ad on the video.
