One of the things I like about the world is the seeming reluctance people have to change their faces too much. There's are believed links between that an psychological disorders today, because our faces are how we interact with the rest of our species and it takes a lot for a person to want to deform that. For me, at least, it feels like people are still trying to hold on to some idea of humanity. Then we have Maelstrom...
To add to the discussion of who to side with in 2077, you can't get the "member" baton if you don't side with militech. So I think the decision is pretty clear
I think there actually may be 1 path that works to both spare Royce and collect Sir John Phallustiff, but it's incredibly specific if I remember correctly, so it's virtually impossible. I may be misremembering, though, as i've never actually gotten this path myself.
Can you do it with the PL expansion? Because of the black market merchant, you should be able to I think. That said, you’ll miss out on the romance scene

Granted it sounds like they have some issues (from the point of view of other gangs) i still think they would be the most badass. if they can keep up with chromed up folks then i’m with those guys .
fun fact: "Totentanz" is german for "death dance"- being "toten" and "tanzen", respectively. the phrase "lebentanz", predictably, can translate to "life dance" in turn
Not really. "Toten" refers to "Die Toten" essentially "the dead people" there is no noun called "Leben" only the verb "leben", which means living. Totentanz is also its own noun and not just a combination of two words. (the source word is "danse macabre" from 14th century france.)
I don't know how things have changed/nerfed with later updates, but during Nancy's quest, Patricia always dropped a Legendary DR12 Quasar for me with a completely broken 4x headshot multiplier. LOVE that gun. With the right weapon mods and perks, it's charged shots take out any enemy or boss for the rest of the game in 1-3 seconds. So kicking in the Allfoods door and just going cyberpsycho on them all is best IMO. Nothing personal.
Seeing Maelstrom so quickly in the story made me so excited... I got my hopes up thinking that there would be high level augmentation technology that looked similar to those that Royce & Dum Dum have on their face... Honestly it was a let down to see that you couldn't augment yourself to that level or even get the chest/neck tech that Goro has. I just hope in Cyberpunk: Orion, that CDPR will allow the player to actually become less human & more machine if they want to. I would much rather have my Gorilla Arm augmentations look similar to Johnny Silverhand's arms than the flesh colored one with a few stickers & grooves on it.
Awesome video, i enjoyed it. Wish you talked more about their occult aesthetic and their obsession with the transhumanistic and rituals with black-metal type aesthetics, but other than that awesome stuff.
I find it strange that almost no-one in the CP universe try to modify a lot of their body but hide it or use parts that look like the original body. Wonder what it would do the the psyche. Like having all inner-parts replaced yet you don't see it or it's minimal. Replacing your lungs, ribs/skeleton, muscles, heart, eyes, other organs, etc...
I think they actually do that. It's just that it costs a ton of money and is mostly reserved for high-ranking corpos, politicians, high-class dolls and the like.
Also don't forget about bio-mods. The general explanation is that most of that is actually done, but it's economically inaccessible to most. It's especially hard to hide combat mods, mostly because of their physical size, the connection to the body would be too weak or exposed parts are specifically required to work, but you could actually hide a lot of hardware under your skin.
I started a new game since I have not played since before the changes. I still felt the need to shoot Royce during the standoff. He just rubbed me the wrong way.

Your videos are so good. I watched all of Cyberpunk lore to build hype for the new update. Could you make a lore video about the tech and how it evolved in the world of Cyberpunk and the most notorious tech ever created?
That sounds like a really cool idea! Post-Phantom Liberty, I'll definitely consider a vid like that! Also, thanks a bunch! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos.

It's the nocturne descision theme (Cyberpunk Noctorne rooftop ambiance will find it if you wanna look it up here on YT). Sorry that it wasn't listed in the description like the other music! I must have missed it.
I think a small note should have been made to which Maelstrom seems to have much contact with higherups in corps that can be observed if you listen to the nutter outside Vicks and go to the meeting he hints about. It is a real shame it just ended with that meeting and more didnt come from it, i was always curious to what all that did mean.
@@everberon yeah i always found that interesting since the psycho lady in the freezer also mention the same stuff they talk about in that meeting. It really hints to that gang being involved with some high-end corpo nonsense
I mean if you think about the side mission "happy together" when you talk to Barry he talks about a maelstrom member who had corpo protection. And protection strong enough where he could waste a kid in front an NCPD member without any repercussions at all.
I would be into Maelstrom if it only wasn't for all the child killing and that only its leaders don't look like deflated husks. It appears the recruits don't have a drop of agency over what chrome they're augmented with, meaning you're at the mercy of the gang ripperdoc's sense for aesthetic and whatever parts are available. I can't fathom in what state of mind you have to be to get through that process.
My choice over who to side with, then, mostly involves "who would drop the shoe harder when their minions kill a child for fun?". Royce looks like a hot head, but his violent attitude might be a front to a calmer, more calculating mind as it appears to be a trend with these gangoons, plus Royce's right hand is a cool guy, he might act as a moral anchor, that or I'm giving Dum-Dum too much credit. Brick being overthrown is a red flag, but save from proving his leadership may be a bit weak, we can't be sure of the other reasons why he ended up there. Kill both Brick and Royce and you'll be rolling the dice with Patty or whatever she's called. I'm not counting on a clanker's femininity to possibly make it more empathic towards kids. Worst case, she actually partakes as a way to stifle those feelings, most of those guys are psychos afterall. Regardless of which leader comes to be, it doesn't appear like there are any consequences for the rest of the game, meaning Maelstrom are still killing kids and kidnapping monks for fun, _sometimes_ for profit. Might be a failing on CD making this choice matter in the larger scope, or it's saying that neither boss is willing to stamp down on the behaviour.
I just came across your CP lore videos and I am hooked! Love your narrative! Subbed!! The only Maelstromer I don't kill on sight is Brick lol Everyone else is fair game, even if they just stand around and chat... Next minute they take a dirt nap. Maelstrom and Scavs die as soon as I see them! 🤣 Remember what these a-holes did to that monk?
They shouldve let us over-do it with face mods and stuff like maelstrom and just made it effect relationships a bit. I love maelstroms designs, genuinely dont care about in game relationships. I'd have a loner-borg V all day
Yes. Somewhere in the desert if I remember correctly. It's on the edge of being out of bounds. In fact, it may *be* out of bounds, I don't entirely remember. Dw tho, the bodies are manequins. It's a movie set.

The lore daddy of cyberpunk
"Sit tight coming for ya "😂😂
does that make V, a booster gang member gone rogue?! O.o
I picked up the detonator and thought cool I wonder what this blows up and clicked it before Jackie could finish speaking....Poor Brick.....
Now I'm kinda wondering if I can go back in my save and free him.
anyone know what the track that plays at 8:33 is? also great video
It's the nocturne descision theme (Cyberpunk Noctorne rooftop ambiance will find it if you wanna look it up here on YT). Sorry that it wasn't listed in the description like the other music! I must have missed it.
thank ya kindly@@everberon
Kinda makes sense why they jumped those 2 monks by the docks.
3:10 What's the page count? The website doesn't list any, and I don't feel like paying £40 for a 40 page booklet again. lol
Good question. Just took a look to confirm for you. The official page count is 173.
@@everberon Thanks!
Yeah that's a good point... hmmmmmm
@@everberon yeah i always found that interesting since the psycho lady in the freezer also mention the same stuff they talk about in that meeting. It really hints to that gang being involved with some high-end corpo nonsense
Nutter?
Is that like a term in the lore of cyberpunk I am not aware of?
@@PricelessBinkey1337oldish way of saying "wackjob", "loon", "nut", or more simply, crazy.
Solid points
NEED A TIGER CLAWS VID
Yooooooooooooooo w vid
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I ll watch it later but I like cause a vidéo about my favorite gang...
Popopooooo !
Remember what these a-holes did to that monk?
Please for the love of all spell out CyberPunk lmao
They shouldve let us over-do it with face mods and stuff like maelstrom and just made it effect relationships a bit. I love maelstroms designs, genuinely dont care about in game relationships. I'd have a loner-borg V all day
I read somewhere a lot of them have skinhead ideologies and after that I murdered most of them only leaving the ones I deem are “cool” alive
Yeah that's from the Cyberpunk Red Corebook haha. Good call
BASED MAELSTROM
My question is how the hell did Royce stage a mutiny with his frontal lobe missing.
Nice
If you ask me, Maelstrom has the preemest aesthetics of all gangs.
I wonder who here would actually join the Maelstorm
I would
My second fav gang after trekkies.
Definitely my favorite gang, however I would never join these mfs.
If I needed to join a gang itd be the Valentinos.
Same here
They are like the Fiends from Fallout New Vegas.
I'd love Dum Dum to become the leader the guy was alright till that idiot Royce came down from his mountain.
I like this channel kuz you sound like bird person from Rick and Morty
Oooo weeee!
Lmaoooo thank you that made me really laugh!
The Inquisitors are pretty cool, Death to the Machine
how this dude not have more subs? shit odd
14:00 is this « lake » in game?
Yes. Somewhere in the desert if I remember correctly. It's on the edge of being out of bounds. In fact, it may *be* out of bounds, I don't entirely remember. Dw tho, the bodies are manequins. It's a movie set.
@@everberon Oh ok thanks, great video btw
2:56 So there it is fellas, Michiko is down with all the Neko stuff,,,,,,,,,,, so Hentai away !
