    It's blown my mind how supportive and encouraging Jordan's community is. Really touched me seeing some of the comments under this video. He has had a huge impact on my life too. I'm getting my life in order. I have decided to make animated Jordan Peterson videos. Here's my first attempt: ua-cam.com/video/O2Q28Gmiy24/v-deo.html

      The mental picture one should take away is akin to an Angel, dressed in a light far brighter than the sun, arriving in someones hour of need. That should be your mental state when saving yourself, solving your problems, and helping others. Let your strength be without end.

      @Minimalism Your user name is self explanatory to your underwhelming assessment of both this Elite Psychology channel and Jordan Peterson. Jordan Peterson stands out as an elite psychologest in no small part because of his broad spectrum comprehensive working knowledge of what a healthy individual's emotional and psychological foundations are built upon, being able to effectively communicate and motivate on an *elite* level that most everyone can relate to, of how to identify and overcome stumbling blocks within each individual to work towards becoming the best version of oneself possible. This in my opinion is maximization of the human experience, becoming all one is capable of being. The opposite of minimalism on a personal level, which to me means "be the least one can be."

      He is still a pill popping crazed crybaby, and his core philosopy of individualism and suffering is poisonus to your soul. Watch this ua-cam.com/video/WXYuqrO8LLo/v-deo.html, then read this: www.amazon.com/Jordanetics-Journey-Humanitys-Greatest-Thinker-ebook/dp/B07JY9XV38. @@caspamasters That's what I believed for a long time. I listened to his words very carefully. At one point in his many interviews, he said that trans men and women were clearly going through a very rough time. But later, he attacked Elliot Page for no reason and was cruel as fuck about it. Then, he refused to apologize.
      This happened just before he was launching a new channel on The Daily Wire. He knew what Twitter's policies were. He had attacked a bikini model but that didn't get him suspended. So then, just a week or so before the launch of his show, he decides to be an asshole to Page. Why? Because he was TRYING to get suspended because 1) he knew it would get him a ton of attention and 2) so he could whine like a little bitch about it on his new show.
      That makes him a grifter. He is a heartless piece of shit who pretends to care for people for profit. But his actions in recent months have shown me his true colors.
      For a guy who says that you should "clean your room" before going out into the world, his room is dirty as hell and full of hate. You want to follow him? That's your choice. But it's all an act. He has proven that much. Living legend? My god... I hope you wake up someday to how stupid that sounds.

    When Jordan Peterson shows emotion, that has a profound effect on me. Why does it effect me so heavily? Because it is empathy. I've lacked receiving it my entire life and for him to show understanding hits me hard. Us men are talked down to each and every day everywhere we go. Our days are overwhelmed by loneliness as we have often have no one to relate to or to vent to; but, to hear JP say and show he cares actually holds meaning dearest to my heart. It reminds that my humanity is still present, although it lays dormant for the most part so the world cannot hurt me.

      i don't hate Jordan Peterson but I question his influence and what he chooses not to say. He certainly gets explicitly politically and claims to champion the truth and freedom of speech but won't touch citizen surveillance v's state secrecy or the political persecution of Julian Assange. Also after famously saying (apparently) that "no Marxist dare debate him", he skipped the opportunity to debate with Marxist expert Richard Wolff. I also know he makes a massive amount of money..... I agree truth and responsibility. Yet Julian Assange is suffering psychological torture in UK's version of Guantanamo bay for exposing the truth. The US military and the "Coalition of the Willing" are yet to to take responsibility for this and the lies that were told to wage this war in Iraq and continue to be told to stay in Afghanistan. I think if Peterson is happy to discuss trump, DNC etc he could be happy to discuss these issues. I wonder if telling an Afghan orphan to just suck it up and clean their room is more important than collectively fighting the injustice?

      Exactly this, I have been raised somewhat extremely left (mostly on climate) but I have two groups of friends , one more extreme leftists and one more extreme right, what came to me also after I watched mr Peterson, is that how corrupted their views are by the media, this goes for left and right, and although I have been working on having a more neutral view and two sided view of things, since about a year, mr Peterson still helped me open my eyes a lot more, as a 16 yo I find it stupid to see how many of my age category base their views on one sided social media stories, this also helped me to get to a more neutral point.

    • @LoHumbug
      @LoHumbug 4 роки тому +11

      Ms Bramble I understand your frustration with his reluctance to discuss certain issues but I don’t think it’s fair to place those expectations on him. He is a psychologist by definition and he’s almost forced to discuss political topics due to the people that he interacts with or the hate he receives from certain demographics.. maybe he feels he must defend himself on those specific subjects. I don’t think he is that political in all the public speaking/seminars I have seen of his.. I believe he’s more interested in peoples’ behaviours and analysing the human psyche. I too find myself sometimes disappointed by the fact that he won’t condemn the hard right as much as he will condemn the extreme left but again, I recognise that it’s due to the fact that he’s constantly having to defend himself against ridiculous hate. To compare the route Julian Assange chose to take with Jordan’s is unfair. They do not have the same goal/purpose in society. It’s not his fault he is rich/famous, he obviously has a fan base who like what he says. You can’t expect everyone to be a spokesperson for the issues that mean a lot to you, all you can expect is for people to be decent human beings.

      @@colestevens1375 I don't think that any of the viewpoints or things he says in his videos is transphobic but his viewpoint does resemble to what you would call conservatism in a traditional sense and so people who are already of the viewpoint that extreme conservatism and the radical right is correct might find certain parts of his videos as encouragement of that thinking and transphobia has often been part of that extreme conservatism. This is part of the problem of having very binary viewpoints which I think is promoted by social media. The social media culture is very quick to judge. The situation is like if you don't agree with a particular ideology then you have to entirely disagree with it. There's no middle ground. People don't think that they can agree with some things about a particular ideology and disagree with others.
      The point I am trying to make is that I don't think JP had any intentions of promoting transphobia but some of his followers might.

    • @colestevens1375
      @colestevens1375 3 роки тому +1

      @@anusheelsolanki1 I agree that it is at least unclear whether he intends to promote transphobia. But firstly, he did clearly state that he does not believe trans women are women, correct? And I find it hard to believe that he didn’t know about what was actually in the C-16 bill. It is an extremely short bill, I’ve read it myself. Also, trans identity isn’t an ideology, it’s a fact of life. Trans people have always existed throughout history and across cultures, and the scientific community acknowledges the validity of trans identity across numerous scientific fields (and yes, that includes biology. Just because biologists don’t study the societal implications of gender doesn’t mean they don’t think trans people exist). And finally, I am of the opinion that you are responsible for the people who associate with you. If transphobes find Jordan Peterson’s message appealing, that is on him to do the work to show that transphobia will not be tolerated in his community. He hasn’t done that.

    • @anusheelsolanki1
      @anusheelsolanki1 3 роки тому +15

      @@colestevens1375 I don't mean to be offensive but the thing is he actually asked the interviewer what is meant by a real woman? He further clarified that if a person does not fit into a gender category, that doesn't mean that they should be treated with disrespect. He says that trans women are not real women on the basis of a biological perspective. I do agree that trans people have existed throughout history and in almost all cultures.
      Regarding the C-16 bill, since I have not read the actual wording of the bill so I don't think it will be wise for me to comment on it. From what I understood JP doesn't have much of a problem with what speech is being imposed as compared to the act of compelling the usage of certain words. But then again I haven't done any research on C-16, so I cant say this with surety.

We are to busy protecting them from the complexities instead of understanding the reasons for weird behaviour instead of finding solutions to problems. A new way of inperteding what is already known as "good." I belive that Peterson is that. I do not hear anything new, but I do believe that the old truth's are being narrated by him in a way that can reach people of all generations and not just young men...I am a non-young woman and get great satifaction from the ramblings of Peterson. This is not a good video of Peterson, with the crying and the music and all. It is a maniputation of him. I loathe post modern or deconstructialism and seen how it had made many art-form stagnant and meaningless. I the worlds of the great Maria Callas, when the diva was asked why she did not sing atonal music, she simply said, it is painfully, ugly and does not reach the heart. And most people, people of average or high intelligence feel the same way. They want to be enriched, entertained and even challanged, like in the works of Wagner. Difficult work but rewarding. Destroying systems that work, is not art, it is death. Peterson is very humane and full of love, not contempt.

But nowadays you rarely hear about Toxic Femininity as it always gets swept under the carpet by the PC police to hide their appalling hypocrisy. Instead of calling it Toxic Behavior in general, they condescendingly blame it on men as they've never been guilty of the same. If that's not considered sexist, then I don't know what is.
      This also reminds me of how the left is trying to impeach Trump saying he has instigated violence and then turn a blind eye to their own instigations. The hypocrisy in that is too much to bear.

      @@suhpc82 It sounds like you've fallen in to the trapped mindset of us vs them. The left, the left, the left. You should really stop using this term in your thinking, as it's clouding your thoughts.
      sarcastically, implying that you think the general population that you would call the left, would call this Toxic masculinity. I'm what you would consider left, and in no way would I or anyone I know call this video out for pushing toxic masculinity.
      I'm sure you could find someone who calls anything that Jordan does as pushing toxic masculinity, and I'm sure that they would most likely would be considered left. All this would be doing is finding a fringe case with a label that fits your preconceived ideas of a leftist and using it to further solidify the biases you have.
      You then say it is a concept made up by the left and imply that it doesn't exist. Firstly, all concepts are made up, so I'm not sure what you are trying to get at here. Bringing up Trump is a complete non-sequitur, and really shows how much you have fallen in to the us vs them rhetoric of US political discourse.
      You also base your arguments on 'but what about them'.

    • @DanielConcerto
      @DanielConcerto 5 років тому +8

      @surrealIdeal I fully agree to your note of being self-critical. Nevertheless, when juxtaposing an individual solely to ideological and conceptual terms (of humanitarian nature), you will always find one short of something. Postmodernism, truth and other concepts are abstract terms precisely because we do not know where their definitions end, let alone how they change in time and context. Thus, no individual, past or present, real or fictional, has ever been entirely consistent with a set of definitions that are applied to discussions around a member of a community or a society as a whole.
      Furthermore, the manner you relayed examples of Jordan's behavior is extremely reductionist. To take violence if may - initial feelings of malevolence is a natural and normal evolutionary reaction to violent behaviors in the environment (anything different in an adult is an indication to clinical pathology) yet a mature individual will regulate those emotions so they are not realized as an active intent to violence. This certainly does not mean he or she is a violent person (or that he or she cannot condemn violence) nor does exhibiting traits of violence for the objective of deterrence does one make a violent person. Furthermore, violence does not necessarily imply the physical aspect - it is common knowledge that a person of impressionable age, in distress, or great change could be impacted by flawed logic and reasoning, potentially so detrimental as to reach debilitating status (which can easily fall under the definition of psychological violence). Any responsible adult will thus act in a way as to minimize the possibility of such interactions and instead expose that individual to the situation in a regulated manner.

Yes he speaks quite seriously about issues that could be considered trivial which is a valid criticism, but calling him alt right for this? And how is this any worse than the largely held belief that white men are oppressing and keeping down every non white Male. And so anyone in the IDW is alt right? Brett Weinstein is alt right? It's sad how frequently Jordan Peterson has been unfairly demonized. As a liberal myself, many people whom I generally agree with and associate with are the ones who have such disdain for him. There's plenty I don't agree with Peterson about, but I also recognize that he's an intelligent, very well-intentioned, compassionate person, and I wish my peers also recognized that. You don't have to agree with someone on everything to have a genuine respect for them.

      This right here is humanity. Man, I was borderline in tears after this video, and your comment just made me cry. I just wished more people thought like you, liberal or not.

      Extremely well said. If more people adopted your line of thinking, the world would be a much better place.

      idk if I’m crying as a result of empathizing with the genuine compassion and brilliance he’s shown in this video, or from the immense relief I feel reading comments like these that show me there are others who think this way, with how long I’ve spent feeling so misunderstood...... regardless, I am very glad to have found both

      I have only now stumbled across this man and, like you, I'd call myself politically progressive. There are many small snippets of videos of him showing a wide range of opinions on UA-cam. A lot of it is like this one, genuine and rational, but even more of them show him saying abhorrent things filled with logical fallacies that are about him "destroying" people (usually "feminists"). The comments in these videos are always people cheering him on a saying terribly sexist things, so I find him confusing and don't know what to think. Somebody who's ideas encourage a community of angry, vindictive, anti-feminists seems immediately dangerous, but someone who's advice on psychology has helped improve the lives of thousands clearly has a positive impact. How do you go with rationalising these two sides of the man?
