Tutorial- Free by The Zac Brown Band (fingerpicking)

- I had a bunch of people ask me to post a tutorial showing how I play/fingerpick "Free" by The Zac Brown Band, so I made one. I'm not a teacher by anymeans, but I tried my best to explain how I play it. It's an awesome melody to learn so if you just bare with me for about ten minutes I think it will definitely be worth it in the end.
*I think it would be great if ya'll could post a vid of you playing this. I would love to see how many people have actually learned how to play "Free" from this video. Just send it to me as a personal message or as a video response to this video so everyone else can see and make them want to learn it too. That would be awesome!*

This song was dedicated to me by a very very special person that just wanted to escape the world with just the two of us. It has so many versatile meanings. I LOVE hearing this song in any format. Your brilliant and VERY talented. You should become a teacher :=) TONS of money too...

well Bryn Powers..I'm very impressed with your teachings!! you are a natural..I've been playing 48 years and I've never learned to really play with a pick...I always drop them and with finger picking, you never have to worry about that..so, great job..I appreciate the insight...cause my daughter wants me to play this at her wedding, along with..into the mystic..the two songs go hand in hand..keep up the good work and YES..you are a teacher..by all means, thanks again

Keep posting tutorials, most people just breeze through a song assuming we know what fingers their pickin with and what not. Yours was the perfect speed

Hi bryn great lesson i was looking for your cover on zac brown free. did not find it.I would really like to see it so i could learn the song thank you again
@ashleygphillip It doesn't matter about the capo. You would still play the C and F the same way as you would as if there were no capo. But remember, it's an Fmaj7, not an F, which only means that you play your normal F chord except you leave the high E string open. Hope this helps- Bryn

Awesome video thank you so much! The video is perfect. I've only been playing a couple weeks so it is definitely taking me some time, but I just pause every few notes and play it till I get it smooth, then watch a little more and add that part till I've got it.
My wife thought it was weird when you told me to "pick my g-string" though.
Might want to keep that to yourself until you can serenade her with the guitar!! ;)
