Two weeks ago ipad 10th generation was not working and it always have low battery. 5 days later my friend Azzy gave me her iPad that she doesn’t use anymore . So I gave ipad 10th generation to my sister fae and she loves it. I love my new ipad so much
I saved my money and ordered the ninth generation for my husband for Christmas. Honestly he won’t be taking pictures with it, and his main purpose will just be surfing the web or playing an online game of chess. You can still find the ninth generation under $300!
Was the 9th gen even mentioned or covered? It seems that this review is more targeted to those who need to be convinced to buy the 10th gen instead of considering the 9th. Not what I was looking for.
The differences were mentioned. But not many, so he was alluding that with these small differences, is it enough to push you up to purchase the 10 or are the small changes not that grand enough to go 10, but rather be okay with 9 gen.
The #1 biggest difference for me, is something you didn't touch on at all. For YEARS iPads were a 4:3 aspect ratio, making 100% of apps / games fit the screen perfectly. The iPad 10th gen goes with a 3:2 aspect ratio, making it awful for my experience with most games. I just can't justify an extra $200 for the new one, where there's not one thing about it I like. 9th gen iPad will easily last me 5 years. Then, I'll look for a model in the 4:3 aspect ratio. I still have an iPad Mini 4 as well kicking around.

Can’t really figure out what I’d do with the slightly faster processing of the 10th. These are basic iPads. For basic web/email/docs stuff. The 9th gen is now available for $270 (64G). It’s a great device for that price. And if I want a better camera… that’s what your IPhone 14 Pro is for.
I’m glad that somebody gets it. It’s like if you are deciding between two cars and the salesman says yes but this more expensive one can go up to speeds of 200 miles an hour and it’s less expensive and can only hit 150 miles an hour. What does it mean if you never plan to drive more than 100 miles an hour?
I just brought the 9th generation today I am glad I made a great decision my phone is going to be for camera and nothing to me is wrong with charging an apple pen I barely notice lightning differences
Considering the amazing sales on 9th gen there really isn’t enough different to warrant a 200 hundred dollar price hike. Granted the 10 is better but mostly is superficial ways and it doesn’t make a ton of sense to overspend for that.
iPad 9 is $199 at Best Buy! 10th is $349. Drove around to all the stores to ensure family and close friends all get iPads from me for Christmas this year, even Galaxy users! 😄
My iPad 6th Generation is slowly starting to give up the ghost, meaning a new iPad will be on the horizon for yours truly. If I get an iPad 9th Generation, I will be quite tempted to splash the cash a bit more and spring for the 256GB version as I tend to watch movies on it, and I refuse to pay a bloody lot of money each month for a Netflix account. If I get an iPad 10th Generation, I needn't worry too much about storage space as I have my movies on my external hard drive so I can just plug that into the newer iPad's USB-C port with my USB to USB-C adapter. This will enable me to skimp a bit and go for the cheaper 64GB version.
Costco has the 9th gen iPad for $279.99 for the 64GB and $409.99 for the 256GB. I’m thinking of getting this as an upgrade from my IPad gen 2 and iPad Pro gen 1.
Costco has the 10th Gen 256 Gig for $379 it is $80 off right now. It was $40 more to upgrade to 4x the storage. The gen 9 64 is $249. For $130 more I picked up the newer generation with more storage.
I had a 9th gen up till November before it was stolen, decided to get a 10th gen last week and must say just for the screen alone and size makes it worth it for me. If I already had a 9th gen however or was on a tight budget I’d say just stick to the 9 tho
I got the 10th generation on Amazon brand new for $110. They had an offer to get their Amazon Visa card and an instant $200 gift card. Well worth it, I’ll keep the card active and just run my prime membership on it so it doesn’t close
That's not a bait and switch. Clearly someone messed up when sending your order out. You should have returned it and have them replace it with the one you paid for. If you paid the extra $130 for a 256gb ipad and got the 64gb, then you overpaid by a lot. I hope you rectified that situation.

Okay hear me out. If the price of the 10th gen is $350 and the price of the 9th gen is $250. Would it make more sense to spend the extra $100 for the 10th gen? I have no intentions of using Apple Pencil and I want it for gaming, media consumption, and reading.

I've had my 10th gen pink 256gb with cellular iPad for a 2 months now and i LOVE it! Glad i went with the 10th gen over the 9th gen, and im so obsessed with the Pink color it matches my 7th gen ipod touch.
You forgot to mention the negatives.... non-laminated screen, slowed down USB2 in the USB-c port, lighting port is being phased out completely in EU so the pencil will be useless in a year, and a huge deal breaker-- slowed down Wifi single vs dual in all other ipads. It's like they made this one crappier, slower and generally less good so people still buy the AIR. Hopefully sales and returns will reflect on these new iPads they will scrap the line and try again. I didn't even open mine and am returning it. Got a referb AIR for $400 on Amazon that has all the good stuff.

@@Jimbowholivesinsoup laminated display makes the pencil lag behind where you touch and makes the ipad thicker to accommodate the specie between the glass. If you are in EU def avoid this iPad10 because there is a lightning bolt connection ban coming into law in many EU countries next year.
Well, the 1st Gen Apple Pencil won’t be “useless” as long as you have the $9 USB-C Pencil adaptor 😅 and for those buying the Pencil brand new it does come with the adaptor at least. Otherwise those are all very good points 😬 I didn’t know about the slowed down USB-C port
@@Keither754 There is a law going into effect in EU where apple must stop using thunderbolt (search "thunderbolt ban in Europe) one of the main reasons the new ipads etc are all USB-c. That pencil life is severely limited. Yes you can charge with the adapter for the foreseeable future so yes it will work until it is obsolete. However there are so many negatives to this new iPad. For me it was the slowed down speed of the USB-c port! Why put a USB-c only to put USB2 speeds instead of USBc speeds? Think transferring or reading files to a USBc drive 3 times slower! Or why slow down the WIFI when all other pads avail use a dual WIFI adapter? It all makes no sense.

While I think this iPad for $450 definitely should have a laminated screen at that price, I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker. I have the 9th Gen iPad and I don’t usually really notice the non-laminated screen in daily use. The only time I kind of notice it is when I’m using the Apple Pencil

Steep price upgrade. Definitely opens up the market for alternatives. A Chrome version with Tensor at the original price of $300 may be what's needed.

That pencil life is severely limited. Yes you can charge with the adapter for the foreseeable future so yes it will work until it is obsolete. However there are so many negatives to this new iPad. For me it was the slowed down speed of the USB-c port! Why put a USB-c only to put USB2 speeds instead of USBc speeds? Think transferring or reading files to a USBc drive 3 times slower! Or why slow down the WIFI when all other pads avail use a dual WIFI adapter? It all makes no sense.

The non-laminated screen is the dealbreaker. Even the $150 Amazon Fire HD tablet is laminated. And the price, of course.
While I think this iPad for $450 definitely should have a laminated screen at that price, I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker. I have the 9th Gen iPad and I don’t usually really notice the non-laminated screen in daily use. The only time I kind of notice it is when I’m using the Apple Pencil
