DIY Jelly Pedicure at Home - The FUN Way To Pamper Your Feet!

- Today we are making a jelly pedi - a Jelly Pedi is where you soak your feet in jelly instead of water. This is a really quick & simple project!
You only need water & a thickener; everything else is optional. You can use gelatine but the water needs to chill a bit before it thickens. Sodium alginate turns the water thick, slimy, & algae-like. Guar gum or xanthan gum thickens water while it's hot - so this was the winner for me. They work exactly the same. I also added mint essential oils and menthol crystals to make my jelly pedi minty fresh.
Add 5 liters/170 ounces hot water to a large bin, like a foot basin (linked below).
Add 2 grams [crushed] menthol crystals to hot water.
Mix 20 milliliters fragrance/essential oil, 5 milliliters polysorbate 80, liquid turquoise colorant, & mica together and add it to water.
Add 10 grams bath pearls to water (to moisturize & soften feet).
Last, sieve 50 grams guar gum to water so it doesn’t clump (as bad). {NOTE: this amount only refers to guar or xanthan gum} Mix it in well. If using guar/xanthan gum, use a hand blender in a small container to get the jelly smooth & clump-free. Soak feet just as you normally would. About 10 minutes in you can scrub feet with a pumice stone.
CAUTION: Your feet will be very slippery. Do NOT step on a smooth surface, especially a bath tub; wipe your soles on a rug or towel first. Rinse feet clean and dry them. Wait about 15 minutes to use a foot razor or callous remover. To dispose the dd water to the jelly until it's thin. Pour the diluted jelly mixture down the drain under running water. {NOTE: Other thickeners may need a different method for disposal}.
About 15 minutes after you've cleaned & dried feet, you can use a Callus Shaver if you wish.

Your are so beautiful and creative!! I love it here...🥰🥰
This looks really fun to use and make. Would you consider making a video on body oil with mica that stays suspended and doesn't settle? And a version of hair oil also with mica that doesn't impart any color and stays suspended? Lovely video, great work!
Great suggestion!
Looks great. Ty for sharing ❤❤❤
Amazing 💙💙
You always come up with such unique ideas! Thanks for sharing ❤
You are so welcome!
Have you ever tried making shampoo and conditioner bars? It’s my new obsession especially the kind without all the drying detergents.
There's only a few things I haven't tried yet, and that's one of them. Although, I have been researching & formulating different recipes for when I do [eventually] get to it. lol
That looks great, thank you
Hope you enjoy
Great as always ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Hi Dora ,You have such fabulous ideas , Always love your videos x
Thanks so much 😊
Your channel is a gem!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 🌼 can you please make a tutorial of your version of the lush’s golden wonder? I was heartbroken when they didn’t bring it back this christmas 😢
Great suggestion!
Love your hair here!! I had a jelly pedi at the nail salon, and it was interesting, lol
Enjoy😊😊😊❤❤🎉
I did not know that they had a Costco size of unflavored gelatin awesome
Could this be used for hands as well also adding vitamin e oil
hello,
can we make them and put them in jars for sale? are they ok to use after mixing for long time stored for sale!
Is there a way to make this in a jar in powder form then use it later on in hot water? Do I just mix the wet and dry ingredients together then package it?
Update for a whipped sugar scrub recipe that you can pipe
I just love how creative you are, Dora! Your videos inspire me. For instance, what if, instead of washing it down the tub we add some D Limonene and reuse it as a toilet cleaner? 😮
Great idea!
How can I package this to sell? It would be for a one time use.
Can we make a base and store it in a container so its ready to use later so we just have to add water? I would love to gift this for mothers day or have it around for later.
I'm working on it
Hey Dora, could you probably use that a few times not necessarily keeping it in the fridge
You are probably right... But then how would you heat it up? I suppose you could buy one of those pedicure bowls that have a heat setting.
Xanthum gum dint work
I think you could have mixed the guar gum in glycerin and then add to the water? Thanks for sharing, Dora!
😘
Does agar agar also work?
yes, it should!
@@CreativeBathLab thanks!
