You my friend are brilliant. You’re the best player I’ve heard in years and play with amazing drummers and cajon players. You inspire like nobody else. Thank you so much for your generosity. F
Thank you very much Freddy! Enjoy ;)
These adaptations are brilliant - thanks for sharing

... and I had a lot of fun watching. I did like 7 and 2 but they were all great ones to have in your cajon rhythm repertoire. Thanks Felipe 👍🏻

This is your best groove compilation from 2022 by far!
Thanks Kavish!
You are welcome:)..which beat is your favourite:D
Also happy holi!
I really appreciate the rhythms you teach. Thank you. This is a useful list of basic grooves. Very helpful for someone at my level.
Pity I can never got the free pdf from your sign up system. I've tried it many times, but it never works for me. But you usually put the groove on the screen in box charts, which is helpful, so the fact that I cannot access the free area usually doesn't matter much. But this time you didn't.do that. That's a pity, because it would be good to see these rhythms in written form.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for your message. Glad to know you like my work and the videos are helping you.
Actually you are in my list since January 2021 and you have already subscribed to the Free Area. You don’t need to subscribe again, this is why you don’t receive the link to access the Free Area, because you’ve already got it. But no worries, I've sent an email to you with the link.
I suggest to you to save the link and also the page, this way you don’t risk to loose it again ;)
Enjoy the lessons.
Thank you, Felipe, my Master. Good grooves for learning and playing. It's fun to have a sense of achievement :)
Great to hear that! Cheers!
Thanks for giving us specific songs so we can practis
Thanh you, Felipe, they are useful
I got to go with the Bo!
Great to hear these together one after the other. One of your best vids! Many thanks.
Thanks for your feedback! helps me a lot ;)
I was a drummer back then but stopped. Then my workmates insisted I get back on percussion. So I decided to look into cajon. Now I am waiting for my Shlagwerk CP432 2in1 cajon. Thank you for the inspiration! Instant subscriber here!
That's awesome! Enjoy the cajon and let me know if you need anything ;)
All 7 grooves are awosome 😍😍
Thanks for your comment! Happy you like 😉🙏
Amazing beats
Glad you like!
Wonderful as usual Felipe! I really appreciate how you give examples for each groove. Can I make one little request? Could you do a tutorial which covers some Middle Eastern rhythms? Thanks again for all your work.
Thanks Jackie! I will plan something about the topic, thanks for the suggestion 🙏
Jackie, it’s me, Robert from the islands. Do you want a minor key tune that builds and then goes down and up again with that Arabic feel? What about “Midnight At The Oasis” by Maria Muldaur or “Caravan” with alto sax Phil Woods and Louie Bellson playing double bass? // How about an example, Jackie? I do Hasidic 💙❤️🥁
Muy bueno.Gracias
Gracias Jose!
So cool with tjhe pattern in the pdf
Thanks again
😉 Enjoy!
So cool!
Thanks Greg! 😉
THANK YOU dear Philippe ....lovely greetings from Hannover...Northern Germania....
cheers!
Filip i liked all the grooves.very nice.
I want to request you to make a lesson for fills for this video groove
Yes i will do that soon. Also, if you want fills for all this grooves, check out my fills course, there you have everything - cajonmaster.com/fills-course-1/
Salut, vraiment très très fun et intéressant vos vidéos......je suis fan
Merci! happy to know 😉🙏
Love the Bo Diddley groove. The technique in the left hand is ALMOST like a ghost note but just a softer dynamic of the bass tone. Love it
Exactly! This Bass almost ghost is the right feel for the groove 😉🙏
I hear Egyptian rhythms here in some of these! Its amazing how these influences travel around the world!!
Thanks Jay, agree with you, this is amazing! cheers
You are awesome grooves awesome now only if slower to start.. Nope tried three times, cannot get them. Mark videos as INTERMEDIATE thanks
Dear friend, I'm from Puerto Rico. I'm starting to learn the cajón and your videos have helped me a lot. There's the band groove from DRUMLINE(the movie). Also I would love for you to make a review video of a 5D2 (cinco dedos) cajón. And how to tune your cajón. Thanks a lot!!
thanks for your comment! I will make a video soon about cajon tuning ;) thanks for the suggestions 🙏
Hi Feilipe,
I like them all, thank you for sharing brother. I went to brazil in 2007 and had a ball! The music, the food, the people, so different, so unique and relaxed, i loved it. When I got my cajon about 1 year ago i went straight to your channel. The best channel { very professional}
My friends play Irish Music and I try and copy the Bodhran reels. The cajon is a good substitute. It would be great if you could teach some ! Also ive tried to get the Free PDF and your page is coming up but i cant get the join button to work? Ive rebooted my computer but had no success so far. Probably a issue on my side. Obrigado Bro :]
Hi John, I've checked and it is working fine. Try again and if it doesn't work, send an email to felipe@cajonmaster.com. I will be happy to help you with that ;)
I hear the fist beat and the intro of Ballroom Blitz is playing in my head instantly ^^
Hello I'm French I love your video I started the cajon a few months ago thank you for sharing I'm watching and I'm learning a lot I have a schlagwerk x one right now it's cheap do you think it's is good for beginners? I like the sound but I don't know the others! See you soon :) continue the videos are very cool!
Rock on!
Ahh noo your cajon sound is so damn great
Groove #1: Ballroom Blitz (by 1970's band "Sweet").
Hey Felipe! I really like the Country Train, but at faster speeds it becomes difficult to move my right hand fast enough to do the bass and keep it steady. Is it a good groove to use a cajon pedal to keep the bass?
The pedal is a good idea to play fast 👍🏻😉
One drop for me...great video again....do you have a favourite groove yourself from anywhere in the world?😁💯🔥🔥
difficult to say... I like a lot of grooves 😀
Last one for sure!
thanks Ernests!
My favorites are the Bo Diddley and the Famous. Every time I step into Guitar Center for percussion stuff I have to play a cajon and do the Famous. :-)
yes! the famous is a great one :) thanks for your comment 🙏
I'm saving this video as a primer.
thanks! glad you like it ;)
Funny. As a drummer I always recognized the Dem Bow as Soca.
Dear Flip❤️💫👍
Cheers!
If you want to hear a song that's really heavy on The Famous One, check out "Car Jamming" by The Clash.
Good one! thanks the tip ;)
Thank you Felipe. Let's practice then! 😎
Have fun! 😉
Sir I'm not getting a email of this 7 Grove and as well the email of cajon crash course plz do something 🙏
Check your spam folder 😉 if you don’t find it, send an email to felipe@cajonmaster.com

Valeu meu velho! abração
Part Two …, #5 The Emotional One … Based in triplets. The long slow pattern while you munch on a piece of pizza that Angie feeds you …. 🍕🌜”Gravity is working against me // And gravity wants to bring me down” . # 6. The Shuffle Groove .. rooted in jazz and blues … also uses triplets …”She’s my Fay Vrit one, I’m her little baby boy” # 7. The Famous One. “The iconic funky drummer” (James Brown) …. I see two parts X X X Rest x x x x / XXX Rest xxxx … I’m on it first thing in the morning. Good Night, my friend. Thanks. …… oh, you asked. My preference? I always will take a James Brown beat, #7. Thanks again.
Thanks Rob! Love your comment ;)
#1 Folsom River Blues … I hear a train a comin’ // #2: Beau Diddley … 3 2 // #3. One Drop. Emhhasis on 3d beat (I call reggae the: “MISS the first beat sound because it it sort of starts on the third beat and it feels that way to me) // #4 The Dem Bow … BUM bim ba bim BO ba bim ba bim BUM bim ba bim. Think of lomg repition … HEY Angie, get me a drink and place me a veggie pizza order at Angelos, while my best friend finally asks that girl to dance …. and I play (Yawn) … a long repetition 🍷🥜🍕🥨🤟🏼🚬.
Thanks Rob!
Thank you but… no flamenco pattern?
Not yet! I will present it in the next video ;)

Dig the "Famous" Groove!
thanks Tim! cool isn't it :)
I'm beginner here
Welcome! enjoy the lessons ;)
One drop? There is no syncopation in a one drop
I’ll try those when I get back from work today. But your words, I don’t understand. Sixth eight, on the third on the accent triplets It’s Chinese to me.
Most rhythms seems manageable.
Thank you for this
Enjoy the grooves and contact me if you need help 😉
@@CajonMaster I do. I have reached the limits of self advancing. Kind of stuck. For years now.
You seem like a nice person. I might take an online course with you, if it is something you do, or if it is something I can afford.
Btw I am 54. I have three kids. Life is a struggle, a daily struggle, percussion is what lifts me up. Sometimes when I’m down, I can’t touch the cajon for weeks. When there is no music inside
