Digging the simplicity here man. I recommend you to many of my fellow drummers and a few kids I teach. Sometimes my explanations of other time signatures are a little too extra and it can get confusing. Would love to see some more videos covering other time signatures, like 3/4, 7/8, etc. They're always groovy dude

The snare is actually a Benny Greb signature brass snare from Sonor! The rest of the kit is Pearl Reference Series 🤗

The kit is a Pearl Reference Series kit, the snare in this video is a Sonor "Benny Greb signature" brass snare and the cymbals are a mix of Sabian and Paiste

I just saw Mr. White passed away last May in '22. RiP, but his music lives on.
Seems more like swing, and ghost noting and adding the kick in sextuplets.
Sure, 6/8 could feel like really slow sextuplets. But it all depends on what metre you're playing
I would suggest from your slow instruction to your fast instruction that you put something in between there is a big separation for some beginners
The fast tempo is just an example. A drummer should always go about their own tempo. You need to work on it slowly for a long time and gradually increase tempo when you're comfortable with it.

why do you skip the ghost note after the downbeat where you hit the snare? To me it’s like playing rosanna with only half the ghost notes
Haha, first of all: It's not the Rosanna Shuffle, it's just a 6/8 groove.
And if you want to play it with a ghost note, do it! The purpose of my videos is to inspire drummers and that they try out stuff on their own 🤗

But it's just an opinion and a thought; "why skip a ghost note, it's a small detail, but glues a beat together". However, I do understand the purpose and shouldn't have commented in that behavior. Shouldn't the and of 3 be an eighth note instead of the 16th note on the kick drum pattern notation.
Since it's in 6/8, the &'s of all beats are 16th notes.
You can't have seven 8th notes in a 6/8 metre.😊
