I'm not a professional musician, but love music. Cajon has been a mystery to me and now my eyes have been opened : ) It's hte great compact rhythm instrument that I want to learn, and I love your approach. Thanks!
Amazing videos for beginners to build up groove complexity whilst not boring. It also enable the beginner to have sense of achievement and momentum to continue the playing and interest in exploring more different types of grooves. Thanks again!
This is such a good video Felipe, I can't wait to master it after my current course I have with you and before I start your Groove course. I'm very much enjoying my learning, thanks to you I can see and feel my progression so soon 👍🏻
Love this tutorial as always. Easy to follow & build up slowly to suit your individual level. Up to level 3 im finding good - level 4 needs much practice as I get mixed up!! I’m not at level 5 yet!!! Thanks as always. 😊
thanks I will do it soon. If you want more beats you can check out my new Groove course 2, it has a section only about double stroke grooves. Here is the course preview - cajonmaster.com/groove-course-2/
Felipe, great lesson! On Level 5 it sounds like you're starting the triplet (double stroke) in Beat 1 with a bass tone instead of a slap. Shouldn't it read "B s B/s B" or am I mistaken?
Self-flattery would say I'm level 3. Not so good with ghost notes but there are a lot of complicated rhythms in my head and I can get mix great slaps and bass easily. Then again I'm more of a guitar/bass/synth player. 🙂
Continue practicing the groove in different tempos and start changing the phrases to create your own groove patterns. This lesson is to give an idea and inspire you to create more ;) Have fun!

I came from a drum set at one church to kajon and the transition is interesting. This little box has tons to offer
that is what I am trying to do.

Ahh! Great. I love the way you gradually build up the complexity. It's a very valuable lesson in not playing too much too quickly. Thanks, Felipe.
Thanks Steve! Happy you like it ;)

Nice, I think I’m comfortable with level 3, but could do level 5 if I practice integrating the groove.
Yes Gabriel! I'm sure you can do it, take it slow and let me know how it goes ;)

7:00 is quite challenging...
take it slow, you will get there ;)
Weirdly enough, I think lvl 4 is the worst. It feels too busy, but when it gets busier in lv 5, somehow that fixes it. I'm confused
Really! Good to know your feeling about that. thanks 🙌
harder than it looks but fun
Ha ha, can't get my left hand to play the ghost notes 😂🙈
