Metroid Prime is easily one of my favorite sagas in gaming! It's fun driven, has awesome mechanics, massive environment with creative bosses and a beautiful story talking about the entire saga's story and let's not forget the touch of Nostalgia when I was a kid which also helps being one of my favorite sagas I can't wait what Metroid Prime 4 has in store for us. I swear I've completed this saga several times since I was a kid I never get tired of it! Truly a masterpiece!
I've been playing through them every year since their release, I've made it my own tradition to do so. In fact I'm doing so right now, I always do in August since that's the Metroid franchise's anniversary.
Heck yeah, brother. Metroid is my favorite series, and Super Metroid is my all time favorite game. I was wanting Dark Samus in Smash, and we got her! I'm just hoping for Dillon next, and I'll be set.
13Skullhead Awesome! I didn't know Metroid franchise's anniversary was on August! Funny because my birthday is on August what are the odds! I'm also going to complete them again soon as I get a new GC controller! What's your favorite game from the saga? Mine is Metroid Prime!
Giygas_95 Ikr! I love how this time they've shown much more love to the metroid franchise on Smash. Finally! Ridley and Dark Samus in smash you can bet I will main Dark Samus! And it also makes me wonder what will Metroid Prime 4 be about? I can't wait to hear more news!
4:09 that stand off shot never gets old. It shows even though both of them are complete opposites they are thinking the same thing. That being that they don’t have time to screw around and that it is time to finally end their fight.
Her final smash could have been: 1- Opening a portal to Dark Aether and making the ing devour the opponent. 2- A leviathan crashes into the stage, doing damage and causing terminal corruption to opponents above 100% resulting in an instant KO. 3- Transforming into Metroid Prime Instead its just a clone of Samus’ final smash. Meh...
Eh, Samus is pretty intelligent, it's reasonable that she probably put the pieces together at some point. "So that's where my cool goth suit went! It's trying to kill me!"
3:01 The best part of the reveal? Retro had no idea if they'd still be working for Nintendo after that. Metroid Prime was very experimental, and Metroid as a brand didn't have much in the way of traction at the time. It's honestly a minor miracle the Prime trilogy had the momentum it did, and I'm so happy Retro got to play around with the concept of a more active antagonist in the form of Dark Samus, as opposed to the somewhat passive Mother Brain, Queen Metroid, etc. of the past.
@@ultraspinalki11 no she's not, she's a phazon entity with no gender, she uses female pronouns however do to her female stature and because she's biologically nearly identical to samus but in reality she has no gender, she just uses female pronouns
I really think one of Dark Samus's earlier boss fights in Prime 2 should have been shown. Her third fight is radically different from the other two, as is her appearance.
Geometry Dash Logan On July 21, Metroid Prime Series Producer Kensuke Tanabe Confirmed Dark Samus story was complete, if you don’t think Samus destroying all Phazon was enough evidence... www.gamnesia.com/news/metroid-primes-producer-confirms-that-the-dark-samus-story-is-complete
Gnarly Tubular Dude true, but you never know when things change the logo for prime 4 looked very phazon-esc not saying your not right but we can always hope!
Same l love the metroid series so much and to se another metroid character added to smash, l screamedd louder than when l saw Ridley... because l didn't scream when l saw ridley... l cried. l cried for dark samus but after screaming.
Okay so I'm maining the hell out of Dark Samus in Ultimate. Her inclusion likely means *I will never play regular Samus ever again* . But I *really hope* she gets her Prime 2 organic-looking black armor as a skin (like how Link has 2 actual costumes, each with various color schemes), and maybr even her transparent, skeleton-looking appearance as a skin (kinda like how Little Mac has a wireframe skin). EDIT: I kind of also lowkey hope Zero Suit Samus has a "Phazon Corruption" skin (you know how you could see phazon corrupting her face through her visor's reflection in Prime 3?)...
Why did you skip the *first* encounter with Dark Samus in Prime 2??? The Phazon suit after merging with Metroid Prime looks totally different in Prime 1 and 2. So just showing the bonus scene from Prime 1 doesn't do it justice.
Here's hoping Dark Samus returns again for Prime 4. Sure, she's exploded twice, but that doesn't mean anything. After all, Ridley still finds a way to appear in basically every game, and he's died almost as many times as there've been Metroid games.
Memento Mori i want her so bad in Metroid Prime 4,but is kinda difficult, specially when Planet Phaze was Destroyed=all phazon was destroyed. But who knows, they can do the same shit as Metroid Prime or Metroid Prime 2 but could be strange. By the way,the serie is Metroid PRIME,so it could be way to Weird that Prime 4 doesnt have Dark Samus. So my theory is that Sylux took the DNA of Dark Samus somehow and then, clonate her with an army of metroids and also Phazon is back again(taking the hints of Prime 3 and Federation Force) The other Theory that i have in Mind is that the Federation want to clonate ver and experiment her(as we Know, the Federation is not so good like in Other M case,so maybe the Experiment was a Failure and Dark Samus is alive, this also triggers Metroid 2,maybe because the Federation saw the danger of the and specially Dark Samus) Btw,this Metroid Prime 4 must to have some Metroid Crisis to connect with Metroid 2 somehow.
Tanabe mentioned something about wanting to implement a time-manipulation mechanic, so maybe Sylux is trying to use some sort of temporal energy in an attempt to bring Phazon back from the grave.
I love how everyone talks about that dark samus is half metroid and half human via samus suit. Well... Where did the black suit originate from? That's right, the omega pirate, so maybe a hint of space pirate dna also?
I think it's so cool how Samus is visually distressed and sad when and after fighting dark Samus, it's like the end of Old Yeller, except the dog is a clone of you and won't stay down.
Out of all the dark copies of characters ever made dark Samus is the most interesting because of her origin and the amount of personality she shows all without ever having to speak! Take that dark link! (Dark pit as well) i was slightly disappointed they made her an echo fighter in ultimate because she has the potential to be a unique fighter but her inclusion is still great none the less
Dark Link is not even a character, he is a mindless reflection that is either created from malice or used as a trial for the hero. I don't know why people think of him as his own character. Dark Samus, Dark Pit, Dark Meta Knight and even Shadow Mario are intended to be their own characters. Dark Link is not.
When you think about it, what actually caused Planet Phaaz to explode? Dark Samus was just a leviathan guardian that got a hold of Samus's suit and ran wild. Did it make the Aurora Unit a critical part of itself?
I LOVE the Metroid Prime trilogy! I grew up playing those wonderful games. Such masterpieces. I'm so glad that we got Dark Samus as a playable character in Smash Ultimate. She looks great! If only they changed her moveset a bit, but oh well. I'm fine with her being an echo fighter and all
When Metroid Prime 4 comes out one day and is released in the future I hope Dark Samus will come back in Metroid Prime 4 and make more appearances in future Metroid Prime games in the Metroid Prime franchise. Dark Samus is such a cool, villainous, and powerful doppelganger of Samus Aran and Dark Samus needs more spotlight, love, and appreciation.
I feel like im the only metroid fan who minds her being an echo of samus. Her moveset is so different from samus like you can see it from her as an assist trophy even. It really REALLY disappointed me.
NotEriel She was never getting in otherwise. That's why it doesn't bother me. She keeps the phazon ball move as her up smash. She can have the vines as her down smash.
You're not, I've been wanting Dark Samus playable since the release of Prime 2. I've made videos saying how she should be in & all the attacks & abilities she has wouldn't make her a clone/echo. At least for now she's in & maybe a future update or next installment she'll have her original moves.
NotEriel Yea, but that's someone that has all the time they want on their hands. Sakurai didn't think it was worth having dark samus be one of the full new unique characters when she makes sense to do the easier echo, and with ridley in.
You should’ve put dark samus from the beginning of prime 2 instead of pinball, since she isn’t in pinball and she looked different at the beginning of prime 2
Ryan Gibson yea, I’m just talking appearance wise, she looks the same in prime 3 throughout the game, (aside from the spirits you see after beating rundas, gorr, and gandrayda)but we didn’t see her prime 2 look in the video, apart from the smash trophy, which still looks a little different from when she does at the beginning of prime 2
actually dark samus is the metroid prime from prime 1, its been merged with samus's phazon suit and some of her dna, so adding in the metroid prime from pinball in this video is technically adding dark samus
I am honestly so fricking happy Dark Samus is finally a fighter in Smash!!!!!! She is hands down one of my top 5 Nintendo villains let alone villains in general in the world of gaming. I love her so much and I was always a huge fan of the Metroid Prime series. I have wanted her as a fighter in Smash for years for how different she is from Samus with the things she can do that Samus cannot do. Despite that they are having her be an echo fighter instead of her own character though hurts me a tiny bit because of how much I think they can do with her, I am still just grateful she even made it in at all.
Current list of Metroid Reps in Smash Bros: -Samus -Samus -Samus And Ridley Sidenote: When are the bounty hunters from Prime 3 and Prime Hunters showing up?
I love how everyone tries to waifu this thing by making it look like Zero Suit Samus underneath the armor when in reality it's a body-snatching alien horror that looks like something straight out of a horror movie underneath its armor
I’m glad you made this video since tons of people will be out here not knowing a damn thing about dark samus or the metroid prime when smash ultimate releases. Smh
I Mean.....She's A Being Made Entirely Out Of Phazon......What Could You Expect? Fanart Does Make Her Look.....Better But Canonically......She Is Like.....The Ugliest Thing Ever Without Her Helmet.
To be honest i never saw this as her "zero suit" for 2 reasons. 1st becease she is still wearing her suit. And 2nd becease this form of her's looks way more of an over use of phazon dark samus. What i mean with that is. Dark samus is the combination of samus dna, metroid prime dna, phazon, and the phazon suit. If dark samus was to look like samus without the suit on and she absorbed too mutch phazon (that radioactive substance that mutates anything that comes into contact with) then it makes sence that her samus human body won't be able to handel all of that radiation. Now that doesn't mean that it hurts/harms dark samus since she is also part phazon hersef. But i see it like that her "human samus part" wouldn't be able to take all of it in, and as an effect of that over usage her body would reduce it to this skeleton form as to what remains of her human form of that radiation. And this only happens if she takes too mutch phazon.
Kronic Kraig she’s just shown to be a badass at the beginning of Prime 3, wiping out four of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy with one charge shot.
Fun fact, when I first made my Guardian in the Destiny 1 beta, I based her look on "What if Dark Samus was a Guardian?" and she's stuck ever since. When I saw this and the outro, this totally made my day. First Ridley, King K. Rool now Dark Samus. I was like I don't know, but I see those three and I'm like, "I am fucking getting it now!"
I know, but I rather have a voice that does not sound like the run of the mill Star Wars Imperial Officer. Still even then it's debatable at times. Hell even Oryx when the character was first a female Aurash after consuming her worm into Auryx and finally Oryx before consuming the Worm god Akka after consuming the sisters Savathûn and Xivu Arath to become the Taken King. So theoretically it may have happened in a similar way, by trying to be more or less a copy of of Metroid Prime's foe. Biology can be ultra weird in story telling like that.
Just my opinion. As a big fan of Marvel, I found kind an inspiration from the relationship between P. Parker-Venom, as how they developed the concept of Dark Samus. Also, they took insight from Dark Link, thou. However, Metroid is really a good classic, especially Prime Trilogy. I love it.
Dark Samus has always been a cool character, even today! So... I have a question. Why is Dark Samus Samus' Echo fighter in Ultimate when they have almost an entirely different move set in the Metroid Prime series?
I never thought Dark Samus would get in any game after Brawl. It hasn't shown up in a game since 2007 and Brawl was the last game around the time it would be relevant. But after seeing the announcement of echoes and the missing Alt And assist trophy in the E3 demo, I wasn't surprised, but definitely hyped.
As a kid, I used to think Dark Samus was somehow connected to the Ing or maybe an Ing version of Samus. And... maybe she is? Maybe she at least initially had some Ing biology. But a good reason I believed that is because Metroid Prime 2 Echoes was my first Prime game and I didn't see Prime take some of her equipment. Yet, it was real cool, anyway. God, I hope we get the trilogy on Switch soon..
l hope/expect Dark Samus will have it's original design from prime 2 as a skin, as well as it's final boss form skin from prime 2, but l doubt that one. l'm also expecting/hoping a skin color based on Metroid Prime's ghost form and creature form.
Me too. I always liked that while she looked like Samus's Varia Suit at first glance, if you looked closer at details like the bare feet, it was clearly her body. I was so disappointed when they took away the big shoulders and made her look more like a suit for Corruption.
guruguru In my eyes it represents the further assimilation of Samus's form~ Starts off giant crab, becomes ghost octopus, turns into Nightmare Samus, copies Samus more after their second fight, begins to resemble her suit more, soon enough she's evolved completely and now looks just like Samus.
As a child playing these games, I never realized Dark Samus is a reborn Metroid Prime. A ghost of Samus’s past that haunts her for years down the line.
I'm really glad "it' is playable. Since Brawl, I ended up doing fights of Samus vs Samus with dark colors. I'm hoping some F-Zero characters get to be part of the game, Goroh might be out since he's an assist trophy. Maybe Blood Falcon as an echo fighter. Since Melee, he's already has colors of Captain Falcon. In fact if you look at his back, it says Blood Hawk instead of Blue Falcon, the F-zero machine names.
C.Falcon = Brawler S.Goroh = Sword flighter Pico = Gunner I think Dr.Stewart should be there in some way since they were the 4 original playable characters in the series. But Blood Falcon seems like the easiest choice.
Dark Samus began life not as Dark Samus, but as the Metroid Prime, a Metroid infused with Phazon. Its power could be greater than an Omega Metroid, or even a Queen. After Samus killed it, it tried to bring her down with it, but it only tore Samus' Dark Suit away, a suit mode formed from the Chozo Battle Suit experiencing massive exposure to Phazon. Combining with the remains of the Metroid Prime, which contained massive amounts of Phazon, the trace amounts of Samus' DNA on the Dark Suit and the Metroid Prime's will and memories, this formed Dark Samus, the galaxy's true greatest threat, and antithesis to Samus, the galaxy's greatest bounty hunter.
I LOVE how dark samus is not like one of those silly rivals, or rivals who are always defeated by their own stupidness, dark samus is smart and uses things to IT'S advantage instead of both peoples advantages, and she has that dark and COOL vibe of the type of way she sort of shows "emotion", the emotion It obtained when It realized they had an enemy, but still felt something...Something maybe FOR samus instead of towards her
In Metroid prime, samus gets her phazon suit stolen and that along with a small amount of her DNA and the core of the prime Metroid become the entity known as dark samus. Flash forward to Metroid fusion and samus technically is the last living organism in the galaxy with Metroid DNA in her. Since the vaccine for the x parasites was distilled out of the last bit of Metroid serum. Funny how dark samus is, in a sense, a Metroid with human DNA in her, and now samus is a human with Metroid DNA in her.
They didn't had a evacuation sequence after defeating Aurora Unit (Dark Samus's final form) in Metroid Prime 3, they have a cutscene, but not having the player make their way to the ship within the countdown... I am just saying, I was expecting to go through that after defeating the final boss.
I really dislike that Dark Samus isn’t it’s own entity like Ryu is with Ken, Ken is the perfect examples of what an “echo fighter” is. He plays the same as Ryu but moves and stats are different as to why he sets himself apart from Ryu while still being original. The smash team should have did that with Dark Samus and ESPECIALLY Daisy... but oh well... overall I’m satisfied its in smash c:
To be honest, the whole "echo fighter" thing in and of itself is stupid. At first when they introduced Daisy (and re-labelled Dark Pit and Lucina as echos) I thought "oh, it's just the same character but with different stats" but, well, Chrom and the aforementioned Ken have different specials from their non-echo counterparts (Chrom literally stole Ike's Aether and Ken has his kick specials instead of Shakunetsu). Which is weird, because other moveset clones that have this one-special difference (Falco, Pichu, etc. heck, even Dr. Mario who was billed alongside Pittoo and Lucina in 4) aren't considered echos and are instead treated as full-fledged fighters. Granted, it's because they have vastly different normals from their counterparts, but it's still weird how spotty Nintendo is. I'm probably wrong, but regardless, it (as well as the name being used to refer to moveset clones in other fighting games) contributes as to why I don't like the term "echo fighter" in general.
@@wanderingmarshadow No I agree 100%. I don’t mind them being called “echo fighters”. It’s just… if you’re gonna call them that, make it make sense with ALL characters that ARE those things. Everyone else gets a pass but not characters like Daisy and Dark Samus…? The only difference with them is the aesthetics… nothing else. And it’s just annoying that those two (to me) are the ones that get snubbed out THE MOST. Regardless. I am happy with the addition but I still have to point out some flaws.
It’s so easy to tell from these comments who has actually played the Prime games or not. Those of you acting surprised that Metroid Prime and Dark Samus are the same being are the greatest example. Metroid Prime started off as a simple Metroid who went along for the ride with the Phazon meteor that landed on Tallon IV. That Metroid exposed itself to and absorbed so much Phazon, it mutated into that spider-like form you saw. As it was nearing death, Metroid Prime managed to save itself in a desperate move by assimilating the Phazon suit that Samus was wearing, which provided Samus’ DNA for it. This resulted in further mutation that led to Dark Samus being created. It’s not that complicated, guys. Anyone who has played the Prime games knows this stuff.
I've never realized how easy the Aurora Unit 313 is until you made it seem like a walk in a park. I've only beaten it twice. I also never noticed how much of a Metroid it resembles.
Yep, scanning her during the final fight with her in Echoes (When her armour becomes see through) reveals that her body is becoming unstable from the sheer excess of Phazon she's consumed, perhaps even too much for her to cope with. It says her devastating attacks help her to vent the excess Phazon. Space Pirate log entries say that she regularly broke into their base with the sole intent of stealing their Phazon supplies and freeing the captive Metroids, only pausing to kill the Pirates foolish enough to try and stop her.
The thing I love about Dark Samus.

Juan Pedro_ MOV i totally agree.
Samus:
Dark Samus:
Both: *raises gun*
I love that Dante Vergil rivalry but without the talking
Her final smash could have been:
1- Opening a portal to Dark Aether and making the ing devour the opponent.
2- A leviathan crashes into the stage, doing damage and causing terminal corruption to opponents above 100% resulting in an instant KO.
3- Transforming into Metroid Prime
Instead its just a clone of Samus’ final smash. Meh...
bruh she is a echo not a normal fighter
Sunset Liddel Echo fighters can still have final smashes different to their original fighters, ever tried dark pit or ken?
I'm sort of new to the Metroid series... So pretty much, Dark Samus IS Metroid Prime?! Interesting.
It’s Metroid Prime, mixed with that suit along with Samus’s DNA.
Alex Chaudhari Samus never learned that fact, right?
Eh, Samus is pretty intelligent, it's reasonable that she probably put the pieces together at some point.
"So that's where my cool goth suit went! It's trying to kill me!"
Mandalor Ordo She did, the ending of Metroid Prime 2 shows her who it is.
Xanious "Just like my Varia Suit... I'm probably the only girl in the galaxy whose armor has tried to kill them. Twice."
I love the last encounter in prime 2, no reaction from either just locks eyes and raise their cannons up looks way to damn cool
12:15 oh so this is where she got her smash 4 assist trophy attacks from.
@Atom Is not a she and a he
Is a entiti of phazon
But you can say he and she
@Atom like SA-X
Yup, but sadly Sakurai threw those unique attacks in the garbage and chose to make Dark Samus into a clone/echo of Samus. A wasted opportunity.
@Atom according to Metroid Prime 2, Dark Samus is female.
Considering Samus has already finished dealing with Phazon and Dark Samus in Prime 3, it’s nice to see her make one last appearance in smash.

*kraid's lair
The Prime games are underrepresented in Smash Bros. There also needs to be at least some maps from the Trilogy in Smash.
BTW cool reaper pin
just to let u know u said maybr instead of maybe but we all make mistakes
YEAH! I'm mailing her... Then second, lucario third, metaknight.
Why did you skip the *first* encounter with Dark Samus in Prime 2???
The Phazon suit after merging with Metroid Prime looks totally different in Prime 1 and 2. So just showing the bonus scene from Prime 1 doesn't do it justice.
I like how their original form is an arachnid-like creature but then gains a greater form as it absorbs the dna of samus and phazono
i still remember when metroid prime 3 first came out, solid ass game
Its my fav game of all time
I'm happy that Dark Samus is in Smash Bros Ultimate. but looking at her in previous games, It looked like she Could've Been a Unique fighter...
i agree completely. but for now, im happy to just have this
She is the best fighter ever. I main her in smash, but her Phazon Laser is the best of the best
She was much unique as an assist throphy
So my theory is that Sylux took the DNA of Dark Samus somehow and then, clonate her with an army of metroids and also Phazon is back again(taking the hints of Prime 3 and Federation Force)
The other Theory that i have in Mind is that the Federation want to clonate ver and experiment her(as we Know, the Federation is not so good like in Other M case,so maybe the Experiment was a Failure and Dark Samus is alive, this also triggers Metroid 2,maybe because the Federation saw the danger of the and specially Dark Samus)
Btw,this Metroid Prime 4 must to have some Metroid Crisis to connect with Metroid 2 somehow.
Tanabe mentioned something about wanting to implement a time-manipulation mechanic, so maybe Sylux is trying to use some sort of temporal energy in an attempt to bring Phazon back from the grave.
Really?,i didn´t know that
Dark Samus will be only returning in the beginning of Metroid Prime 4, before of Corruption (11:49)
@@nathanjones8263 what's your evidence for this statement, and why did you post a timestamp set halfway through her boss fight in Prime 3?
I really hope they make Dark Samus' appearnce wtih the suit burned off at the end of Prime 2 an alternate costume for her in Ultimate.
I just want her Prime 2 armor since I slightly prefer 2's design. Plus she's more nutty in that game.
I think it's just her trying to takes the form she has in Prime 3.
I don't think it's a chick
Ty Perez Eh, she's somewhat remotely female due to her samus dna. Plus metroids sometimes have the capacity to turn into queens, so who knows.

I love how everyone talks about that dark samus is half metroid and half human via samus suit. Well... Where did the black suit originate from? That's right, the omega pirate, so maybe a hint of space pirate dna also?
It might explain why she had an affinity for the Space Pirates in Corruption and was able to bend them to her will so easily.
@@tenebrousnova636 that makes so much sense!
I like the idea that Dark Samus has three personalities: Metroid Prime, the Omega Pirate, and a copy of Samus
Thing is, Dark pit actually has a pretty good personality. He’s far better than dark link, though
Just because they look alike doesn't mean you put the same movesets. Use their movesets from other games. Fans think what Nintendo-don't.
Andy Moore meh dark pit kinda just came off as edgy pit to me
Dark Link is not even a character, he is a mindless reflection that is either created from malice or used as a trial for the hero. I don't know why people think of him as his own character. Dark Samus, Dark Pit, Dark Meta Knight and even Shadow Mario are intended to be their own characters. Dark Link is not.
2:56 Nintendo was probably really tempted to put a time sequence here
I can still remember the rush and exciment i felt in these battles. :D
I'm fine with her being an echo fighter and all
Metroid always has the most evil and devastating villains.
With Dark Samus in Smash Bros Ultimate, the fight between the two has gotten intense once more.
EternityTsubasa But Dark Samus was fully deceased in metroid prime 3. She had ran out of lives as it used up the last pod

3:00 this whole scene is really creepy
I feel like im the only metroid fan who minds her being an echo of samus. Her moveset is so different from samus like you can see it from her as an assist trophy even. It really REALLY disappointed me.
NotEriel She was never getting in otherwise. That's why it doesn't bother me. She keeps the phazon ball move as her up smash. She can have the vines as her down smash.
Mr.Ridley okay but if you compare her with like project m fanmade dark samuses she has so much of her own moves that wouldve been so cool to see here.
13Skullhead yea, other characters became more decloned over time like luigi and ganondorf.
I think it would have been good to add the first and/or second Dark Samus fights in Prime 2 here, but still a cool collection!
Dark Samus is the Venom of Metroid universe
That's the Ing
Esh the way Dark Samus launches her missile compared to the original is plain freaky. I bloody love it!
You should’ve put dark samus from the beginning of prime 2 instead of pinball, since she isn’t in pinball and she looked different at the beginning of prime 2
There was also the encounter with her halfway through prime 3.
You fought her twice (and saw her a few more times) before the final battle of Prime 2.
actually dark samus is the metroid prime from prime 1, its been merged with samus's phazon suit and some of her dna, so adding in the metroid prime from pinball in this video is technically adding dark samus
I love how you put in the fight against the metroid prime because it's technecally dark samus
while i feel her potential as a fighter is squandered a bit as an echo fighter. its still nice to see her in the new smash

Hey I'd still smash Dark Samus if that's the case 😏
I remember when I first saw Dark Samus, I was like, "NO MY ARAN GIRL!!! NO MY ARAN GIRL!!!! Ohhh nooo... what have they done 2 you?"
Spirit In Motion Studio they changed her :(

Fun fact, when I first made my Guardian in the Destiny 1 beta, I based her look on "What if Dark Samus was a Guardian?" and she's stuck ever since. When I saw this and the outro, this totally made my day. First Ridley, King K. Rool now Dark Samus. I was like I don't know, but I see those three and I'm like, "I am fucking getting it now!"
m3tr01d86 finnaly another destiny player
m3tr01d86 also dark samus isnt female
I know, but I rather have a voice that does not sound like the run of the mill Star Wars Imperial Officer. Still even then it's debatable at times. Hell even Oryx when the character was first a female Aurash after consuming her worm into Auryx and finally Oryx before consuming the Worm god Akka after consuming the sisters Savathûn and Xivu Arath to become the Taken King.
So theoretically it may have happened in a similar way, by trying to be more or less a copy of of Metroid Prime's foe.

I've been waiting for this!
God, I hope we get the trilogy on Switch soon..
l hope/expect Dark Samus will have it's original design from prime 2 as a skin, as well as it's final boss form skin from prime 2, but l doubt that one. l'm also expecting/hoping a skin color based on Metroid Prime's ghost form and creature form.
oh boi i totally forgot that there will be skins for dark samus ... now im even more hyped
Me too. I always liked that while she looked like Samus's Varia Suit at first glance, if you looked closer at details like the bare feet, it was clearly her body. I was so disappointed when they took away the big shoulders and made her look more like a suit for Corruption.
guruguru
In my eyes it represents the further assimilation of Samus's form~
Starts off giant crab, becomes ghost octopus, turns into Nightmare Samus, copies Samus more after their second fight, begins to resemble her suit more, soon enough she's evolved completely and now looks just like Samus.
As a child playing these games, I never realized Dark Samus is a reborn Metroid Prime. A ghost of Samus’s past that haunts her for years down the line.
Dark samus needed her own movesets
Wow! Metroid Prime really had that "Gamecube flow" when it came to the FPS.
Last time I said "who's next, adult Link?" now I'm saying "who's next, Simon Belmont?"
Samus defeated a universal threat level being. Dark Samus was literally in the middle of taking over other planets with the Laviathans
C.Falcon = Brawler
S.Goroh = Sword flighter
Pico = Gunner
I think Dr.Stewart should be there in some way since they were the 4 original playable characters in the series.
But Blood Falcon seems like the easiest choice.
Dark samus is a she she was only “it” when she was Metroid Prime
I LOVE how dark samus is not like one of those silly rivals, or rivals who are always defeated by their own stupidness, dark samus is smart and uses things to IT'S advantage instead of both peoples advantages, and she has that dark and COOL vibe of the type of way she sort of shows "emotion", the emotion It obtained when It realized they had an enemy, but still felt something...Something maybe FOR samus instead of towards her
Now i want all the Metroid games again
I wonder how Samus faces down Eldritch horrors without screaming the entire time
Well, she DID have a nervous breakdown in Other M when she encountered Ridley. But we won't speak of that.
And ive been asking for Dark Samus for YEARSSSS! FINALLY!
Why did you skip over the other appearances in Prime 2?
I love the boss theme for metroid prime iconic as hell for me

Nothing will compare to when I was 12 and found Metroid prime…still my favorite boss fight.
Not even really a "Dark Samus", but a super-powered humanoid Metroid. Prime rules, can't wait for 4!
Should have put mid-Prime 2 DS as well.
That’s a good number of it’s appearances, but I think there were more. I know for a fact she appeared as a sort of, vapor form on multiple occasions.
What about at the start of Metroid Prime 2
I was thinking that!
I'd kill to see these games remade graphically like how they did with Halo 2
7:47 I’ve heard that theme before however from someone and something else
metroid prime was the best experience I got from Nintendo in my teens
Is it just me, or is Dark Samus addicted to Phazon?
Yep, scanning her during the final fight with her in Echoes (When her armour becomes see through) reveals that her body is becoming unstable from the sheer excess of Phazon she's consumed, perhaps even too much for her to cope with. It says her devastating attacks help her to vent the excess Phazon. Space Pirate log entries say that she regularly broke into their base with the sole intent of stealing their Phazon supplies and freeing the captive Metroids, only pausing to kill the Pirates foolish enough to try and stop her.
8:19 that face that makes samus says: .......nO PLEASE NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!
