Here’s what Bowser is such a good villain. It’s because… he kind of isn’t. He isn’t ill-intentioned… for the most part. He just doesn’t take the most honorable route to his goals. He loves his family, his troops, his entire kingdom. Even him kidnapping Peach was because he likes her and wants to marry her. Bowser seems so one-dimensional on the surface, but underneath the spikes and scales is someone who’s as much of a hero to his people as Mario is to his.
i think Bowser may be one of my favorite “villains” of any series. Nintendo took such a fun direction with what could easily have been a one-dimensional or more awful kind of guy. i also like how they had an in-universe way to sensibly include him in Jamboree

Too bad that newer games decided to go with the "big dumb brute" personality all the time, the 3DS remake of BiS even decided to remove that one animation of him casting magic because "he too dumb to know magic"(Even tho that was kinda part of his character originally and factored into him being the top turtle in his realm)

Eh, Toad's Star Purchases are a pre-agreed arrangement. If you decline, he has no reason to take pity. If you can't afford it, he's just playing by the rules by declining you. Bowser though, he's just here to cause trouble and mischief. He does whatever he feels like. And if you're doing so poorly that The Bad Guy who just wants to steal stuff actually takes pity on you and GIVES you stuff instead? I like to imagine that when Bowser does this stuff to one of his minions (who actually has stuff for him to take) there’s a sense of awkwardness on Bowser’s end about how he’s sabotaging one of the members of the Koopa Troop. Like they have this sort of unseen conversation a-La, “Mate, I’m sorry, I’m just doing this all in fairness due to party rules.” And the minions are just like, “nah boss I get it.”
Funnily enough, landing on a Bad Luck space in SMP with Bowser or Bowser Jr. causes Kamek to actually panic and feel a bit of regret sabotaging progress for his boss('s son) despite having to do his job anyway.
Bowser gives coins on someone broke knowing there's the odds of coming back on the next turn so he actually has SOMETHING to take. And he does the role of how fortune goes around. Rich goes Poor, Poor goes Rich.
In Jamboree (Party Mode) and Superstars there is a small chance that the bowser space gives 4th place a small amount of cash instead. Also a chance for 20 Coins for -1 star space as well.
Whenever I played MP3 with my siblings, we would often hold onto the Bowser Phone until something happened to make us go broke, and then phone ourselves in for some quality Bowser Charity.
Bowser would legitimately feed the homeless and starving, he’s got more of a heart than most humans in real life and yet he doesn’t believe that he does himself, such a noble king. This is why he’s one of the seven Star Children of the prophecy.
No he wouldn't lol. He'd laugh at them. In Inside Story, he saw a guy trapped in an island with no way back to land, and laughed at him and was gonna just abandon him there before he heard the guy say he has something interesting to give him. Bowser's just nicer in Mario Party because it's a party and he has standards. But if you're not one of his minions or someone he cares about? He'll either laugh at your misery then leave, or purposely make it worst just to be a dick.

I like to imagine that when Bowser does this stuff to one of his minions (who actually has stuff for him to take) there’s a sense of awkwardness on Bowser’s end about how he’s sabotaging one of the members of the Koopa Troop. Like they have this sort of unseen conversation a-La, “Mate, I’m sorry, I’m just doing this all in fairness due to party rules.” And the minions are just like, “nah boss I get it.”
Funnily enough, landing on a Bad Luck space in SMP with Bowser or Bowser Jr. causes Kamek to actually panic and feel a bit of regret sabotaging progress for his boss('s son) despite having to do his job anyway.
Bowser gives coins on someone broke knowing there's the odds of coming back on the next turn so he actually has SOMETHING to take.
And he does the role of how fortune goes around. Rich goes Poor, Poor goes Rich.
In Jamboree (Party Mode) and Superstars there is a small chance that the bowser space gives 4th place a small amount of cash instead. Also a chance for 20 Coins for -1 star space as well.
Whenever I played MP3 with my siblings, we would often hold onto the Bowser Phone until something happened to make us go broke, and then phone ourselves in for some quality Bowser Charity.

Bowser would legitimately feed the homeless and starving, he’s got more of a heart than most humans in real life and yet he doesn’t believe that he does himself, such a noble king. This is why he’s one of the seven Star Children of the prophecy.
No he wouldn't lol. He'd laugh at them. In Inside Story, he saw a guy trapped in an island with no way back to land, and laughed at him and was gonna just abandon him there before he heard the guy say he has something interesting to give him. Bowser's just nicer in Mario Party because it's a party and he has standards. But if you're not one of his minions or someone he cares about? He'll either laugh at your misery then leave, or purposely make it worst just to be a dick.
