@@MrFoxUltima I kind of want to see them add the Tron Lands to Historic - with the available tools it doesn't seem too capable of doing anything disruptive.
@@nicholasmays4257 Aww, true. I wanted to see CGB and these guys play with and against it, but Turn 4 Ugin or Ulamog might simply be too good. RDW would die an ugly death against Tron if it doesn't go first.
Seriously I gotta say man! The amount of work you put each day to create a new deck, play lots of game and edit everything. It’s staggering. I subscribed something like a year ago and the quality of each video is insane! Hopefully many more years!
@Benjamin Burnett nah I agree. It's just that a lot of people seem to think LvD does his own brewing when the deck's already existed for a while - the Sultai Vannifar combo is one of the examples I can think of off the top of my head.
Just Another Nickname I know it’s not brand new with each and every video, but he plays really well and tends to put his own spin on decks. It doesn’t have to be new to be well done
I was just recommended your previous Historic Rakdos historic video and though “Hey, he should play this archetype again now that it has a bunch of new cards.” A couple minutes later I see this pop up. :) Love your work.
I'm so glad Wizards is finally leaning into Historic more. Historic is really your domain. So many cool deck possibilities. It's nice to see you pilot this one, this is a great deck.
Your videos are part of my daily routine now. I always considered myself bad at Drafts and never explored the format but your videos helped me understand better the logic of the format! Thanks for the content!
Variations of this archetype since Amonkhet Remastered have become my favorite Arena deck of all time. It feels so much like you're playing an older format in a bygone era of Magic, where you're eking out incremental value rather than ramping into huge splashy plays. Even when you lose, the games are always interesting. Glad to see my favorite creator giving it a go
I played against this exact same deck yesterday, but I didn't check the username. I got Thoughseized THREE times, but lucked out when I cast Second Sun, then drew another one on my next turn to win with like 2-3 life left. It was a fun game. (Yes, I was using the Boros Second Sun deck LegenVD played a few days back).
This might be my favorite historic deck right now. Based on winning lists, it seems like I've been playing a suboptimal list. Mine had 4 one mana cantrips to go with arcanist and pyromancer and I had only one Kroxa because it had synergy with Lurrus and cantrips. I kept going back and forth between 2 abrade and bedevil after I got wrecked by Karn getting cage. Also, I had one Phyrexian Tower. I didn't have the suppliers and call of the death dweller. Next time I sit down to play, I'm gonna try the 4th place historic open list that didn't run pyromancers and had claim the firstborn and collateral damage.
I can see how this deck is fun to play. All the cards are cheap so it functions on low mana, lots of card advantage and selection especially with the graveyard available, and you start doing stuff right away. Can't imagine it's very fun for the opponent though with all the discard. Loved how most of the opponents were dismantled by it.
I cannot remember the last time you lost to a goblin deck. Maybe you have but the number of vids I've watched you make that deck look embarrassing. Props to how well you play and make a deck work
I think you could be even more aggressive against Goblins with this deck. 7:10 At this point, I'd take 1, Village Rites, and next time Claim and Fame to hit for 7. He still can't play Moxus. Also, I'd generally say the way you lose this is against a hasty swing. Since you don't really mind your 1/1 dying, I'd pick chieftain with Thoughtseize over Chainwhirler. This deck is a ton of fun. Lots and lots of permutations.
@@LegenVD but even with many other games, you were still able to vaguely guessed it in the first 0-2 turns. The best example is your meddling mage video.
My main format is modern (paper) and now because of covid and everything i can't really play any fnm/ tournaments , returned to arena and i gotta say historic is probably my 2nd favourite format , even beating commander.
Better to take claim the firstborn and spark harvest here rather than running shocks and innocent blood. Adds more sygergy and flexibility. Also i don't see a full vessel playset here, just 1 or 2 copies.
@@LegenVD Bloodchief thirst you mean? Spark harvest still better in this deck, let's you take out anything and can be combined with claim the firstborn for devastating combo. Thirst is meant for regular decks that dont wanna sac.
@@LegenVD it's not as situational as you might think, most decks in historic play cmc 3 creatures or below, even the Uro, Kroxa and Krasis are in that range. Also keep in mind collected company is in the format too. There are a lot more cmc 3 and below creatures in this format than cmc 4+ ones.
I found the standard version pretty boring. Enter LVD who saves the deck for me by adding historic and make it a spell slinging graveyard deck. Very cool
LegenVD, I'm just curious, do you highlight certain games, or do you show the games all in a row? I see some of your decks and they win a lot, but they are pretty janky. I want to craft them, but I don't want to craft a deck that doesn't win. Thank you :)
I don't follow the MTG Arena community. I was just wondering, do you come up with most of your decks yourself or are they variants on already known decks?
@@LegenVD But its sooo fun tho! I guess that makes sense though. I run claim the firstborn in a deck very similar to this. Phyrexian Tower is an all-star in that deck.
Your historic content is my favorite UA-cam content currently. The quality of the content is top notch..
Glad you like it!
I agree!
Same here!
Historic seems to be becoming "Modern but actually fun".
I mean yeah basically xD pioneer is also pretty fun. Modern is just sad because the meta never changes and all the super good decks are like $500+

It's a very one-dimensional deck, so it's not too difficult to play around if you have the right tools to beat it.
It'll be years until I can get a dishwasher, but until then your videos will make the chore enjoyable :)
Nice one. there is also a filthy Gideon deck making the rounds... infinite turns and such

Chieftain is easier to kill with Shock.
So many main phased instants, sounds like my kind of deck
I would totally use this deck if I hadn't just used all my wildcards on the Demonic Pact deck you just showed lol.
Somehow after this deck appeared in your previous video I had a feeling this would be coming up next..
Darn competitive deck. You have it tweaked great for bo1. Thanks a bunch.
Glad you enjoy it!
That deck looks sweeeet!
30:40 and here's the lesson for yall: pick a card sleeve that doesn't reveal your core deck strategy to your opponent:)
Could be a trap just as easily.
@@LegenVD but even with many other games, you were still able to vaguely guessed it in the first 0-2 turns. The best example is your meddling mage video.
This deck is brutal.
That game 1 hand of Muxus’ gave me a PTSD I didn’t know I had
My one gripe is that this is a proven, ladder rending archetype instead of a cool brew. Still gonna watch it!
I’ll take famous last words for 1000 Alex:
Wow, that’s a lot of muxus

Just from watching the videos, it seems like this archetype has legs in historic. I wonder if it can be a tier 1 deck
I think the 4th game you said you weren't too far ahead. You dominate in one turn totally putting him behind.
That first game against goblins though
This might make me jump into Historic!
flpndrds Join us in historic. It’s a lot of fun down here.
Could we see you playing BO3 (with this or something else) some day ? Nice video, as usual. Thx !
Thoughtseize is such a great addition to Historic

Hey ledenvd👋🖐👋👋👋
Hey there!
I love this. It's like a wild "Hello!" exchange
Legendary!
Is there a reason for village pre-combat? It's small but a couple of times could have gotten in for an extra point of damage.
Usually I'll attack first or sacrifice a summoning sick creature.
Sometimes we're trying to attack with Arcanist by giving it Haste.
