    I would probably change one of the spiral staircases into an elevator. That way, you are future proofing your home for any handicap needs that could come up in the future.

    Over the years watching I'm always impressed with the skill that Cooper has servicing all the equipment. I can imagine having the skills at home rather than having to pay a mechanic to come in every time is a real benefit to the farm. Cooper always does a good job explaining what and how he's doing anything.
    Also always interested in the home addition and how it's been going. Once the basement walls are waterproofed, I imagine the construction on top of the foundation can begin.
    Cole one thing to think about is to make an allowance for an elevator from the basement to the 2nd story. Not that it'll be unused/saved for the future place but what would be a closet where the floor can be removed and expose a shaft for an elevator. A friend built that into his design, and he did eventually end up putting an elevator in due to a family requirement. If you never use or need it then its at least allowed for as a future possible need.

      This is a good idea. He could design in an elevator shaft now and use the space as storage closets on each floor. Then if he wanted an elevator in the future it's pretty simple to put it in. Much easier to put in an elevator if the basic structure is already there.

      As someone who has a good chance to be in a wheelchair in my dotage, I’d highly recommend an elevator while it’s so easy to put in. At the very least it’d be worth it to plan it out now. Zack Nelson (JerryRigEverything) put in a great residential one for his wife. The video is here on YT.

    The house is going to be amazing. I love how far ahead you're looking, to your children being married and having families and coming back to the homestead to hang out with Grandma Hneiva and Grandpa Cole. You are building a legacy for them and I wish you and your family, current and future, a lifetime of joy within those walls.

    That's a lot of spiral staircases. As a person who has one, I can only suggest making it as large as the space will allow because they tend to be cumbersome and dangerous, especially as you age.. ..and / or try to carry anything up or down with items in your hands . You absolutely must use the handrail on a spiral staircase for sure footing.

    Cooper for future reference when you split that cat. If you switch the hoses on one of your steering cylinders reversing the flow in the one cylinder. When you turn the steering wheel it will push the rear end away from the front. We do it on our deeres when the center pins need replaced works great.

    Where did Cooper get such encyclopedic knowledge of everything machinery? It's amazing how well he's able to explain what needs fixed, and never seems overwhelmed with any repair. Cooper and Zach are fantastic together. Keep your videos coming, as I learn a lot. My second lawn mower went to engine heaven. My husband showed me how to check the oil. I was so pleased as it was clean as it could be! Lawn mower one, I checked the oil. It was lw, so I put the entire can into it. To say the least, there were no bugs in our yard, quite possibly all 3 neighbors 😅

    Hi Cole, great design. You have an absolutely enormous house on the way. May I make some suggestions. Add a waiting room and direct access to the office when you build the garage, or make the gym/office hallway a waiting room and have access to office directly from garage entry. Visitors for business should not access family sections of the house needlessly. Second floor access of the spiral staircase can be solved by widening the side hallway (2 feet off of big room making slight L) and line with bookcases and have secret bookcase doorway. That way you can go from office balcony to book lined hallway to secret spiral stairs. Lastly, the attic area should have no internal walls, only dividers that hide murphy beds. That, and maybe a small bathroom will allow for a slumber party/celebration guest crash pad/large family stay overs as families grow... while also allowing for a large open area for other celebrations and activities. I envision a "convertible bunkhouse attic rumpus room" big enough for games of tag or ability to sleep 16.

    I’ve been watching you for many years and enjoy your adventures and family dynamics.
    I have to say though that your home plans are amazing and I enjoy watching the evolution of it all, however I think you must take some real time going up and down spiril stair cases to understand the dynamic off using them. You seem quite romanticizes by having them, but they really aren’t practical for daily use and are quite dangerous when you have anything in your arms or hands when navigating their use. They seem like such a fun and beautiful item to have, but for as many as you have in the home I think you are going to regret having so many in critical places for coming and going.
    Think about how much you will be going up and down from the locations you have them and possibly a standard staircase in a few of those places you would actually be more practical. Some food for thought. Good luck.

Start tractor after switching lines trun wheel one way splits tractor and trunk the other way and it sucks it back together.

    Do a little furniture shopping now with a measuring tape - most of the stairs and doorway openings will make furniture near impossible to get in some of your rooms - I get the library spiral stair but the the rest should be regular 36” stairs and I would do 36” wide doors as well, they look grander and allow for wheelchair access if ever required - the distant future will require accommodations for a family member as you never know how anyone ages.
    I think a 1st floor in- law suite for any long term guests would be very useful. You could also rent it out for a farm hand or nanny.

    Cole you seem to get food poisoning a lot!! You are so fortunate to have friends/workers that can work in your stead & vice versa!

      He will just use the normal ones if he gets tired of the spiral ones. He will have several different sets of stairs in the house.

    Food poisoning? Remember to promptly and properly refrigerate your food. Watch expiration dates. Cook food thoroughly to proper heat temp. Use a meat thermometer. That said, a lot of viruses are going around, probably caught something.

      And wash your hands thoroughly before you touch your face, before handling food, after using the restroom, after changing diapers. Also keep those babies hands clean 😊

    Just my two sense - walking through your closet to get to master bedroom seems a little silly. 40:12

    • @warrenmichael918
      @warrenmichael918 38 хвилин тому

      why? Maybe they want to be able to walk into their closet early in the morning or late at night to dress and undress without waking the sleeping person up? Cole in bed sleeping after working all night and Nave has to walk into the bedroom to get into the closet, that would disturb him. Walking into the closet first without going into the bedroom makes a lot of sense when you dont want to wake people up. Mine is like that and i wouldnt have it any other way now that we have it like that.

    Since you are planning on aging in place, why don't you plan on adding an elevator and add it when you have the funds or get closer to needing it in the house?

    • @warrenmichael918
      @warrenmichael918 29 хвилин тому

      99.9% of people that build a house plan on aging in their house but i bet a very very tiny percentage of those people have elevators installed, why do all these people keep saying to put in an elevator?

    Cole - an idea for your “worlds largest hallway” could it be a couple lane bowling area on one side and then turn around you could have an archery field on the other wall?

    Cooper I envy your long hair. I wore mine long well into my 60s but then all of a sudden it started falling out back to the standard male pattern baldness lines! Noooo!!! Looked awful with all the bald areas so I went ahead and cut it short. So here I am now at 70, just anothee bald guy with what's left cut short -- oh the humanity!. Stay strong, dude! 🙂

    Sometimes hard to tell between stomach bug and food poisoning, best clue is if some people ate one thing and all got sick and non eaters did not. Also should be within 6 or so hours of each other for food poisoning, spread out more for bug.

    Make sure you have a way to move big pieces of furniture up and downstairs. Spiral staircases are cool, but couches, beds and dressers don’t bend very well.

    Good for you Roman, I'm pretty sure Justin and I couldn't work togeather without a major blow up. Just from what ive watched in the last couple of years I'm pretty sure our personalities would clash and it would turn into one of us not working with each other. Theres nothing worse then working with someone that your personalities clash and there's a lot of tension.

      HAHAHAHA if you got all of this from seeing a few minutes out of a several hour day and think you couldnt work with Justin because of personalities clashing, maybe you just told us all who might have the clashing type personality!! LOL These guys all get along and work very very well together.
