Yup and you need to make a lot more than just $100k to afford a $80-100k truck. More like $250k+ if youre actually smart with your money. Unless you have huge amount of trade-in equity to offset the cost, or unless it’s a complete tax writeoff 179.
@Jake S I got lucky when I traded in Mt 10year old pick up the dealer helped me and gave me 23k for my paid of truck it brought down the price of the 70k truck I purchased... it was the only way I was getting a new vehicle along with APR rate going in hand to have a payment under a G
@@leeoscar83 fair enough. I make good money but I think at this point in my life the most Id want to pay a month is like $600 which puts me at a $50k vehicle with my $15k trade in. Which realistically puts me in a CPO 2021 F150 XLT or something like the new 2023 Canyon AT4 they just released… decisions…
For the price of f150 might as well get this. 56k for a f250 and 65k for a f150 go figure
The 2023 has a nice look. I actually like the new front end and the bumper/bedside steps. We're really happy with our Godzilla 7.3. We've done several videos about MPG and towing with it.

I love my 250 with the 8 foot bed it’s a monster.
I prefer keyed ignition, glad to see it's still offered as I hate push to start and the key fobs, if I want to leave the car running I either use remote start or a second key to manually lock the door
The analog gauges are way better than the clownish digital bar graphs on the Larait!!
I think it looks good for the most part. I just don't like the side step. Understand why ford did it. I wish they would have made it an option. I also don't like the bumper step but that can easily be changed so it's not as big of an issue.

Ben I am very interested in the F250. I am reading about 2 issues: Lifter issue and front suspension extreme wobble. Would you know if these items have been rectified?
does the tremor package add anything to that interior?
In white, the side step doesn't look like a cheap after thought compared to some of the other colors.

6.8 is going to be for the boring fleet spec XL only. So most consumers won’t get it. Fleet purchasers won’t really care.
You can actually make it look very cool with the sport pkg and if you don’t really care too much about all the extra stuff you can have a cool looking truck at a decent price. I don’t do much towing but I like the 8’ bed on a crew cab.

@@dantimber that’s all be design from marketing. They dial in the numbers exactly where they want it to be competitive, but not too competitive. Next time, GM will come back with 5-10 more hp. And so it will go till the end of time lol.
I’ve bought one and I don’t know if it worth it or not. I’ll tell ya what I do know. It’s sure fun to floor it. It reminds me of the muscle cars of my youth.

The 7.3l is said to have cam phaser issues also. Would you test a 6.8l. Haven't seen any on the lot yet.

Cam go's flat at about 35,000 miles. Like all ford's, its best to stay away.
It’s the same engine, just a slightly shorter stroke, and slightly higher compression ratio.
that rear bumper and bedside step are too high. I installed AMP research sidestep and now the rear bumper is next. Much easier to use.
I have a lariat with the ultimate package on order. It will most likely never get built due to the ultimate package. I don’t want to make concessions on that expensive of a purchase. I want what I want and I guess I can’t have it.
No HD lights, you can send that back to the factory.
I like a physical key , never was a fan of the push button.
Nice to see Ford is now putting the 3.73 gearing on the F250 instead of the 3.55's

@@josephpuchel6497 You can order them with 4:30's. Prior to '23, F250's came standard with 3:55, and the F350 came standard with 3:73.
Hey I think 373s and 410s are better for all around driving. 430s great for pulling camper/loaded trailer but not normal driving . I know it’s hooked up to 10 speed or 6 speed transmission. Back in day 390s we’re the go to with gear reduction overdrive.
F250 and 350s came standard with 4.30 rear end. I had to special order mine with the 3.73 gears on my 2020 F350. The diesel comes standard with the 3.55 as they always have since 2011.

Definitely worth it. More options than an F150 and likely less expensive and would be easier to sell.
Facts. 5.0 V8s F-150s in my neck of the woods (Illinois) are going for 70-80k
Most on the lot are the 2.7 V6 or 3.5L eco boost….

I don't know why you think a heavy Duty truck should have a sports mode, or it is odd that it doesn't have one makes no sense it's a work truck

Hopefully they get the cam delamination problems fixed. It's also disappointing to not see movable pedals on more vehicles. MFG act like it's a luxury item, when it's actually a safety item. Have a look at the short people behind the wheel and try to get recommended 10-11" between the wheel and the breastbone.
You buy the same truck as you did in 2012. Just 20k more in price
Pretty nice truck but in my opinion prices are still to high. A quote base truck at nearly 60k. It's a lot of truck but still..

Ford never puts enough leave springs.
The tires are so disproportionately small for the truck and the truck itself doesn't even have remote start and no push button start which is generations behind.
You don't need remote start on the fob. The my Ford app lets you lock/unlock and start/stop
My 2020 F350 has remote start plus you can start it from the Ford app.
Besides having an uglier grill, I think 2023 got new axles. Any info on those?

Cost is making me feel I can build one cheaper.
Again, if you do your research and "settle" for new '22 models, don't care about color and certain options, and have good credit, you can find good deals with 0% loans included. I know I did.
I love how ford still offers low tech cheap affordable trucks, especially as Chevy and ram quit and are all about the tech

57 grand for an XL is ridicules but a lot cheaper than my area.. the cheapest 23 F250 within 100 miles of my house is $68,000.

There has never been a sport mode on a super duty. My 2020 F350 didnt have it either.
I have 3 2020,2021, and a 2022 7.3 and they all 3 have sport mode. Hit the traction control button twice

@@timdavison2417 got it. That’s different then a drive mode like ford has programmed into the different selections. The f150s, explorers, expedition and I believe mustang all have a select table drive mode option in the menu. Super duty doesn’t have the same type of option.

I like the ‘22 better. Idk, this redesign has to grow on me. Maybe once I start seeing more of them on the road. Also, Ford has been greedy for the last 2 years. Please do better all around Ford.

Ford made the Super Duty much uglier than the prior gen. GMC and Chevys now look much better in my opinion
The interior is a disaster:
-Steering wheel buttons are now tiny and jammed together in tight, dense clusters. No ability to control things by feel, must always look down to use them
-Climate control buttons are the same - tiny and jammed together, not intuitive
-Buttons for 4wd. The knob used far less dash space and was more intuitive
-Electric parking brake. Gross
-Why the hell is the upper glove box release button all the way over there?
-Tiny climate vents
-The bin on top of the dash is now shallow and tiny. Anything in there is going to slide out and fall down the dash
