Great tunes, God bless all the artists singing in this movement, listened from start to finish not one song didn't strike at my heart chords, top stuff.
occupy lives on in our movement
1 year later - yay Jackson and Taylor
YES!!! Thank you, Clyde...
Lives In The Balance!
Magnificent......
Thank you Jackson for 40+ years of activism.
Thank goodness there are people out there still willing to stand up for what they believe in-and musicians like these who put their fame and web their career at stake and use their music to make people think about what's going on in he world.
Found in 2019... since "Which Side?" is in an early draft form, verse has different lyrics at 24:23. Same themes as "Standing in the Breach" with different words...
Occupy lives!
No more perpetual WAR!!!!!
So why did this never hit the news?
You might think I have a crush on Jackson, but it's his politics, would like to spend time just listening.
Peace! End poverty.
...and the river opens for the righteous...
My
20th Season…..Terrance Hill for Connor in his 20th SeasonI never believed between the
rocks and trees there was a place for me in that space
A sunshine beam, a
multi-colored dream fight the thought of sleep and my own scheme
You stopped me when I tried to
walk on water, with your perfect smile, and daughter of the preacher’s
innocence, I have to admit you choked me and my song for a day and mile for
awhile
Those smoke screen blues and
faded holy jeans let my flannel heart wander your wayA hobo knows when it snows, but
he never seems to understand the dynamics of rainI thought and I read about my
blood thinning anticoagulant laced heart, as I was staring at the precautions
on the label tattooed across the pole dancer’s tight ass, a slip knot tied
round her realizing sweet kiss, I’ve bled and I’ve cried with
all I have beside the open vast walnut cabinet where you took your last breath
There’s a parade of walking
wounded moving down the middle of D Street, love lay on the curb as it passed
by
People I once knew, a rich
friend trying hard to defend the numerous victims left in a ditch beside the
desert road, an old man that once discarded the fire in his dining room, and
the bones of mocking jays in his yardI took aim at a hickory chair,
deciding to bear the dampness hanging in the air as flowers began to bloomWe cautiously folded up our
tent and made plans for the road all of us walking behind the old black
hearse...I see the keys around that long
dirty silver chain, thinking about black leather chaps and gasoline fumes
wondering if the seasons are still turning in the basement of my memory,
writing protest anthems for miserable forlorn circus performers and the lady in
the long purple sequin cape as she climbs a rope ladder high into the big top
to unleash her pent up fury on the aging duct - taped trapeze bar hanging down
from above the hastily assembled wires and cables, by drunks working hard for
the whiskey to mask their suffering souls, and pass out cold on the ground
still wet from last month’s floods that own the Delta this summer again
I can barely make out their
silhouettes, against the eastern sunrise, my sleep caked eyes and running nose
in chorus, push me back into my dreaming ways, with my chambray shirt sticking
to my chest, and my cockeyed straw hat listing to one side, I’m gathering up my
sentiments, and firmly kiss that aged sterling silver St. Christopher medal hanging around my neck a long tarnished silver chain you bought me on my 32nd birthday
an eternity ago, as I slowly realize, much like Chris, I’ve carried myself and
others across this ever widening river for what may be my last trip…
I wish every Liberal Musician that supports OWS does a few songs at Occupy events coast to coast let's stick it to the 1 % and there Republican backers

Jackson Browne the musician, songwriter & singer: A+
Jackson Browne the pontificating moralist: F-
No one commented 8 yrs ago, but I get it.
It sounded like the Life Of Brian by Monty Python guys, when the people kept repeating what J B was saying. He`s not the Messiah,He`s a very naughty boy.As for the purpose of the occupancy it is always good to give the big cheeses a bit of a reality check.Damn the fat cats and their money/ power crazed ideas.
@garak99
Republican Backers. MINUS RON PAUL!!!!
Research And Vote!!!!
did anyone from the band camp out for several days? I don't know, but if not... they're hypocrites. I expected more from Jackson Browne.
Stick to the Music
I'm sorry, but all I see is an opportunistic band trying desperately to break into the mainstream and an songwriting legend attempting to be relevant on any level. Someone, please convince me otherwise because I love their music but not the politics.
This changed nothing...snowflakes'.. think I saw Karen. But I do like Jackson and Dawes.
Great musician but unless he's donating his money to get out of the so called 1% then he's either a hypocrite or he's pandering
You don’t know anything about him, do you?
Great music!! Wasted standing with occupottiers. What a shame
