Now instead of a review the page just says “By IGN Staff Editor's Note: As a group of writers and creators who value our own work and that of others in our field, the editorial staff of IGN takes plagiarism very seriously. In light of concerns that have been raised about our Dead Cells review, we’ve removed it for the time being and are investigating."

This was actually more of a blessing in disguise for Boomstick Gaming. Jumping up from 11k subs to now 55k subs, hell I even subbed now xD. Plus getting comped by IGN.

That theory doesn't make much sense since this debacle pretty much ruins Filip's career as a writer.
FANtomCore if you are stealing someone's else's work to make profit off of what's not yours you should be punished. He should have done his own work/ research on the game before reviewing instead of being lazy and stealing nearly word for word someone else's hard work.
Havoc FANtom isn't saying anything to the contrary. He's saying IGN has contacted him to discuss compensation, and in addition to whatever compensation is dealt Boomstick got the added benefit of publicity that helped to x5 his channel, which was an unintended benefit. In the second post FANtomCore was not saying that they felt the punishment was unwarrented, they were referring to Alex's theory that it could have been planned, saying it's pretty much impossible as the whole issue lost Filip's job, highly doubtful Filip would have agreed to a plan to grow a small channel by sacrificing his career, it's much more probable that it was inspired by his own motives.

is that plagiarism? not really... having the same "ideas" as someone else in a review isn't uncommon and isn't something that could stand in court, after all how can you PROVE it wasn't just coincidence, and like i said it isn't a complete rip of his work, it is certainly similar in allot of ways.

Plagiarism is a serious offense when it comes to any kind of journalism. It's probably the most serious offense there is. You are literally stealing someone else's work. You instantly lose all credibility when you are found to be taking someone else's words and claiming they're your own.

The entire video is structured the same how do you get that on accident never mind the obvious sentence copying
if you notice the reviewer most likely never even played the game "doors that will open after a certain amount of time have elapsed" or you know the opposite of that entire sentence
Simple solution - tell them they have two choices:
1) They issue a formal apology, put your video on their website, pay you a freelancer fee, and give you all ad revenue created by that review and webpage.
2) They can see you in court for copyright infringement.
If they go with option 2, document the entire experience here on UA-cam and offer interviews to any of IGN's competitors. Either way, your channel grows and you get money.

I do find it hilarious how this plagiarism led to your UA-cam channel increasing in popularity while the other bloke was fired and ruined his entire career.
I hope that the guy has realised that was he did was morally wrong and has tried to improve himself afterwards (instead of doubling down and playing the victim). But is going to be really hard for him to build himself back again, as plagiarism is taken very seriously in journalism.
Yeah, after this incident, he did try hard to makeup for it and to keep making content. It was around late 2021 when he pretty much gave up since there’s just no way he can ever have a career in this field again. I am just speculating since it’s been nearly 2 years since he last posted on his channel and on Twitter, but I’m highly certain that’s the case.
I do hope that the person has seen that what he has done was ethically wrong and has attempted to better himself afterwards (instead of doing it even more and playing the victim).
