    I’m suffering from a perpetual VTEC solenoid gasket leak on my K20A3, and one of the bolts is rounded and possibly cross threaded…gotta take the head off!!
    This’ll be super useful, especially for a first-time on taking a head off. Thanks so much for the info!!!

    Thank you so much for making this video. My head gasket is shot and I was a little nervous about having to do this job. But now thanks to you I have an idea of what has to be done, and I feel a little more confident.

    Bro the Problem is the Metal PVC valve thats in the oil pump housing. the spring in the PVC always break, causing oil to go up in the hose going to the the intake Manifold.. The same thing was happening on this k24 CRV i bought.

    I have the same intake manifold (z3)and notice one of the mounting holes the 10mm bolt hole was not used. Does your thermal gasket have a small "L" hole for the water passage? And i also notice the center vacuum port can't be used because of the gasket... So how did u run the PCV to the get vacuum? And did u run coolant through the IACV? What's the purpose to run the coolant through it?

    Thanks for the video buddy, well i am pretty fucked up, my radiator fan switch sensor stopped working and my k24a3 overheated for too long i losed coolant and i filled coolant and tried to bleed the system for more than 1 hour but i saw bubbles coming out of the radiator when the thermostat opens.... i have to resurface the head and change head gasket... i am also afraid that the block is warped as well... do you have any suggestions if the block is warped i am really fucked up and it will be extremely hard to get it out to resurface it since i dont have the tools and i am broke asf... 😔

    Good videos bro.. Btw im learning about cars im planing on doing a swap and im gonna reuse the head question is can i reuse the valves and springs and all that even tho i have 160k on it already.. Im on a pretty tight budget.. Built bottom end and keeping head stock as possible with turbo

    • @SERGMOTIVEGARAGE
      @SERGMOTIVEGARAGE  7 років тому +1

      in most cases you can reuse the head. just dont make the mistake i did and get the head checked out. you might have a valve slightly bent and wouldn't even know it. i suggest spending the extra money and letting a machine shop check the whole head out. k series heads are known for having the exhaust guides wear out and then you start burning oil. also if your gonna go turbo i suggest to atleast upgrade your valve springs and retainers, you can keep your stock valves

    Was your K20 Throttle Body always cable or can you swap a Fly By Wire TB for a cable TB?

    • @jgizzy
      @jgizzy 6 років тому

      This year uses a cabled throttle body, you cannot simply swap to a drive-by-wire setup or vice versa because more things would need to be changed (pedal assembly is electronic, wiring to and fro, ecu is different, etc).

    Yo buddy hows going?, i ve already asked you couple questions but i have couple more,
    my k24A3 has blown head gasket
    i am going to use new stock type engine bolts, the head will get maschine resurfaced and if the block is warped too i will do that with glas and fine sand paper.
    1) should i use ARP thread fastener lube on the threads like you did? If yes, should i use it to all of the engine bolts? What about blind holes? (I have no clue,where should i use it so please make it clear and simple!)
    2) what about if i use copper spray sealer? Will that give a good advance of reliability? Will i still be able to remove the cylinder head and the gasket without any trouble? Will it permanently stick everything together? Which product of copper spray do you think is the best? Please let me know you are the only one that can really help me with that and i am about to disassemble the cylinder head and I MUST do it right, for the sake of my JDM loved Princess! 😍🔰 i would be more than glad to donate some money for your time to answer my questions! 🤗🔰
    Thanks A BUNCH in advance!

    Could have saved a step by leaving the intake mani attached to the head. Just disconnect all the hoses and such. Just shortens the process a tad. I understand you were taking it to a machine shop so you needed to but to just swap over its not.
