    Live Sound Engineer here thank you for the in-depth walk through on how to set up for a conference
    For the ones that don’t know
    I’d like to see you do another video patching Dante (Mic rack to the console)

    Overall there is nothing wrong with setting up the audio system this way but there are definitely better/ more versitile ways to route your inputs and outputs for better control. For example you could use Matrixes for your PA outputs and live stream/ recording instead of Auxes and Groups for your handhelds & lavs to allow you to do your overall all EQ for ringing the mics out on the group masters, leaving the channel EQs free for controlling the individual tonality.
    Overall, this is a good tutorial of what it takes to setup a corporate audio event with the given equipment and things to take into consideration.

    Thanks Brandon. I am a Dante superNovice. You answered my first question. Dante is on my list to start reading up on. Thanks for showing how to ring out various types of mics. Excellent tutorial! A must to review again.

    To get any faders to unity from full off, hold the reset button, then gently push on the fader. It will jump up to 0. Do the reverse to turn output off. Great video.

    Hi, In a corporate environment I use sub groups all the time. I use groups for Lectern (Podium to you from the US), Table, Headsets, Lavalier (if using, I am almost totally headsets), Handhelds and Playback (BGM, Stings, Video etc), I can then ring out the sources from the groups and can also set an overall group compression etc. I can then set the sound of each source from its channel. This also means that your stream is getting the best processing as processing each channel for GBF (Gain Before Feedback) effects the sound. It is the reason many streams sound bad. I use gates on the channels as described and AutoMix if appropriate. I then feed the system from matrix sends.

      Yes groups are your friend. I do the same on this console. I like to set my mics channels using headphones (eq etc) so I know i have a good sound going to stream then adjust groups for different mic types and ring out for FOH. I generally use LR for FOH and send AUXs to my stream/ZOOM etc in post fader. That way you can mix for the room and know you have a good mix and sound going to stream. Plenty of different ways to do it but I've found that works best for our corporate gigs.

    4:42 - You can hold the reset button and nudge the fader to bring it up to 0 instead of manually adjusting them.

    Have you played around with the A&H CQ Series yet I have the CQ18T its a cool mixer definitely has its drawbacks, but I’m still waiting for companion to be released for it. I think it’ll fix a lot of problems.

    Maybe you can use matrix for your PA/Livestream. Also you can use groups for every kind of mics like for the handheld a group and a group for the laviers mics, so this way you can use GEO EQ which is more specific. for ipad, you can turn on RTA, so this way you dont need you phone anymore ;)

    Instead of EQing the mics,you can insert a graphic EQ into the PA and ring out the house that way.

  • @youtubak777

    You should really use a group for the mics. Why?
    1) You don't want the feedback EQ in your livestream/recording. It won't feedback there, no reason for it. This is the main reason.
    2) No need to copy/paste and adds the ability to adjust them all on fly.
    3) You'll have the channel EQ free for adjustments based on the speaker.
    4) Not really a benefit here, but if you have other inputs, you'll get a way to control the volume of all mics on a single fader. But even here it can serve as a mute group when no one is talking.
    5) You have the GEQ on the group. Although I like the PEQ much more, it can be handy when you need more control.

    I use the sq5 a lot and the remote app is really good. I see you use your phone for the RTA, when you actually can get the same RTA in the app as on the console.

    • @liveproductionmastery
      @liveproductionmastery  6 місяців тому +2

      Yes I found it later when searching through the PEQ settings on the app. Thanks!

      By using an external RTA, you’re able to see the effect while staying on the PEQ screen on the iPad. Keeps you from having to do too much back-and-forth switching on the iPad.

    Hey I just bought an sq6. I love ye way it feels and the flexibility it offers with routing among other things. I wanted to ask you. How reliable are these consoles? Also how are they working outside in the heat?

      You may have done so already, but for those who haven’t: be sure to update the firmware as they have remedied things making these consoles that much more solid 🤙🏽🤙🏽

    I noticed on your handheld you didn’t keep the same order with your eq build, is there a reason the HM is lower on the frequency than the LM?

    • @liveproductionmastery
      @liveproductionmastery  19 днів тому

      No reason, they are interchangeable. Was just the choice in the moment. Any of the EQ parameters can move anywhere on the spectrum. It is better to keep them in order though just to not be confused later if you decide to adjust one.
