I've been using the Avantis for about 3yrs now and just recently started using the Waves SuperRack Performer with the Avantis and it's been awesome. Thanks for this video!!
Hello, I would like to ask what model of camera you used to shoot and what lens you used. I found that there were no ripples on the LED screen when you shot it.
At 5:25, you say you can change the "tap point" on how the vocals hear themselves in their ears. Either with waves or without. How is this done? I've been using 2 vocal channels. One that is running through waves and the other one is a "dry" channel without waves, it has just eq comp. that I send to the vocalist iems. Thank you
Is the band hearing the waves plug-ins in the ME1s and just not the vocal tuning, if so, how do you do that? Can you insert at two different points on one channel?
We installed the new Avantis last year and I have to say it's such a great console. Work flow is easy to customize and we utilize the IP8 external controller that I keep my FX on so while I have all my inputs on the left screen, groups/DCA's on the right, my FX stays available on the IP8 so if my worship leader suddenly goes into a word I can quickly turn the FX down. I have been considering using the Waves for vocal processing, but was concerned about the added latency; how is it for this setup? is it anything noticeable?
Also not sure if anyone knows but you can send stereo/ ganged inputs to me1's but going to the top of your I/O Window and pressing where it says the channel number & you can link 2 ch's together. Making it easy to send stereo guitars and keys down to your me1 & then controlling it with one fader rather than messing around with 2 faders and pan knobs
Wait, that’s what groups are for…… on the ME-1 you can just group the guitars together as well. Say you have 2-3 guitars, and you want to be able to control all of them at the same time… put them in a group. In the group, adjust their panning, and volume levels to taste, and now you have a master “guitar” group.
Ohhh ok. Gotcha. That wasn’t a job or anything. Just thought you weren’t thinking of the group function. Personally I still like doing the individual channels into a group since it gives good control over panning. 👍
One thing i’ve noticed with virtual sound checks is that the volume is always different from when it was recorded, is there anything I can do to change that?
The peace of the Lord, people! I'm from Brazil and I love watching your videos and I've been getting a lot of ideas and bringing them to Brazil. Soon I'll be there I hope to make a video with you of our Brazilian churches in the United States of the American
I have been using ME 1 personal mixers with an SQ 6 mixer for a couple of years and they are great. A super feature on the ME 1 is being able to save / recall individual mixes on the ME 1 so rotating musicians can recall the mix they created next time they play. Depending on your stage configuration the Distro hub for the ME 1 mixers simplifies cabling by providing Power Over Ethernet so you don't need power for each personal mixer.
You should do a video about the avantis setup with ideal groupings and effects and all the settings and setup to waves. If not I can start making it but I’d prefer you do it because if the quality of video and your knowledge
Been using super rack for over a year and have been wondering when more churches were going to figure it out. Board doesn’t even really matter that much - get super rack dialed in and you’re good to go. Get a high end board if you have money left over.
Great video! A couple of questions: 1. Do you map key changes for the waves tune with scenes on the Avantis or manually change on the fly? 2. With the waves card, does that eliminate latency with the the superrack and server configuration demonstrated? Gymatorium for the win!
We have this exact setup and map key changes via midi automated from playback app that runs our tracks. I also have keys mapped on the local keyboard for on the fly changes…
@@kendrickadams5596 So the computer keyboard keys can be mapped to make changes in Waves SuperRack application. We map snapshots to keyboard keys that are recalled. You can also map MIDI to snapshots in SuperRack so you could use a MIDI capable 88 key keyboard too :). You have to spend some time in SuperRack show and settings tab to get a handle on it but should be self explanatory once you see the settings…
I owned two Avantis’ and both had to be sent in for service within a year… AH customer service was great but it was an awful experience and I ended getting rid of both of them.
We've had a Wing at our church for about a year and a half. Still not using it to its fullest capabilities, but this video makes me want to upgrade to an Avantis just because. Great video as always. Those drums sound great.
It’s not just crazy. It’s ridiculous crazy. And to say all churches this size should have tens of thousands if not hundred of thousand dollars worth of gear, not only is unfathomable, it’s irresponsible.
That's unfortunate. However State Side, Avantis is listed on sweetwater at $15K and $5K for the stage box. To that point the old analog desk that my former church had installed, 48 in 8 out with 8 sub groups and everyones favorite M. ran about $20K roughly 20 years ago. Plus the aviom system. So by today's prices the avantis is much, much cheaper. more i/o. better bang for the buck. Also, the Avantis Solo runs cheaper. You can get a solid mix with just the avantis and it's built in processing. or sq, or qu, or x32. superrack is nice for tuning vocals and doing extra stuff like stacking compressors. I personally prefer the f6 over the dyne8 but that's personal preference. I say all that to say it depends on the church and their budget and which way they are headed. I can't speak for these guys because i dont' know them. Just personal experience. This isn't a bad investment. The GLD at my other old church is still in use today. and it is over 10 years old. If waves is what you want to run with, you can hack in via m32c with a waves card and an s32, impact server and superrack for under $10k. or for a bit more that will break you into lv1 and you can use the m32 as a dedicated monitor desk. I did via gld to x32. never had an issue. There are ways around every situation. It's just a mater of being creative with what's been given. Remember the three men that were given money. one buried and didn't' do anything with it. and was dealt with severely.
The comment about the three men is absurd. That had nothing whatsoever to do with investing in top-of-the-line anything. This is a premier setup and not in the budget for most churches. However, if your budget does allow for gear like this, who wouldn’t enjoy working with such a system.
What I'm wondering is: do you really need waves superrack inside a church with an Avantis? Seriously one Avantis can't cover all your needs and you need live plugins? I can understand big productions on huge stages, but inside a church? I really don't understand....
Very good console but with all that power the drums don't have a good sound for that quick mix. I think they are in a hurry and also because if you talked about the details of that specific instrument it should have stood out and even more so if you already had experience with that Avantis.
Again. Church front are great prosumers but it’s the details that they get wrong that can mislead a potential user. The RF venue explanation was 50% correct.
Honestly really dislike the ME1's. Such a waste of money when you can use aux's with the iPhone App. Musicians almost always need help creating a compelling in ear mix.
0:12 in this video I learned that new audio and video gear is more important than faith or religion. Bunch of hypocrites, reminds me of the golden bull from the Ten Commandments...

Curious, why do you feel you need Waves SR P?
@@davidgekler The same reason their using SuperRack in this video.
Are you running performer over usb, waves card, or dante?
@@zackhinrichs7409 Right now just Dante via Insert until I can get the LiveBox
This is the video I've been searching the internet for for over a month 😭

Just put in an order for an Avantis Solo, GX4816 to replace our aging Mackie DL32R at my church. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Awesome video! Thank you for your kind words. Yes…tell drummers to play to the room :) Would love to chat more about a cymbal feature with you - Dylan
Great thanks to Church Front for showing awesome love.

Is the quality of the preamps and audio quality the same as the SQ7?

Do you have to get the ME-U monitor hub if you're running the A&H ecosystem? Or am I able to just get any PoE network switch?
thanks sir I want to know more about your amplifiers and speakers. thank you
Can the avantis do automix like the presonus consoles?

Can you tell what DPA mics are used?
Tuning that vertical snare so high is I think of the the 7 deadly sins. 🤣
