Funny, I said exactly the same thing about my video yesterday. I think it's the nature of the beast. 8 AM is when I have the motivation to record, but the vocal cords disagree. You're an inspiration friend, keep doing what you're doing :)
In the docks tab of the top menu bar, there's a stats page that includes some useful information at a glance, like frames missed due to rendering lagg, free disk space, and estimated time until full. Might be helpful for diagnosing if the issue is still happening and managing pesky drive space. Hope this helps.
You're really lucky that the absolutely definitely wire copper wire that gets used for all the sciences is called 'copper cable'- dodged a bullet there.
I for one thought this challenge was going to be “can’t use anything that has copper wire as an ingredient” and I was wondering how the heck nothing required to beat the game needed copper wire. This makes much more sense.
When you think about it though, when there's more damage, there's fewer hurt biters, because there's more dead biters and you can't be hurt if you're already dead
There are some super cool tricks I noticed that are absolutely unnecessary for your run of the mill game edit, but I think it pays off with how freaking dope they turn out. Great work!
For those who attemp this challenge as well. putting powerpoles in the power area of other power poles doesn't transmit electricity, but putting an accumulator in the power field of two power poles allows a transfer of power equal to the charge/discharge rate of low power applications, like reloading turrets or inserters in a coal smelter setup.
Yeah, well, the 1st pole has to be near a power source (solar panel, steam engine), then place accumulator(s) (multiple would help with how much power they can provide together) within range of that pole, then a 2nd pole that covers the accumulators. But that's it. You can't repeat that pattern with another to make a 3 pole chain. I mean... you can, but power can't jump from an accumulator to another, so the 3rd pole won't provide any power. So idk, only limited use, and you still need a power source nearby anyway. A steam engine seems better than accumulators in 99% of cases.
I'd love a little more commentary on what you thought of the challenge after you've completed the run. Just a minute or two after rocket launch to talk about the ups and downs would be neat. Love the content. Heart emoji heart emoji.

Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing video with high quality editing, but it kinda talked little about the challenge itself. It feels like I didn't understand much about what makes a wireless run challenging, instead what made this particular run challenging. I mean there were only a few mentions of the run's constrictions and the designs that were forced because of that. Just to clarify: I really liked this video.
The whole challenge can be summarized with the one sentence at 0:44 "If we can't move electricity around, we just move steam around". After that, it was just a "slightly weird normal playthrough" :( Still.. nice little video.
