Here is some fatherly advice to all of you out there. NEVER, leave your car to be worked on. Schedule appointments and tell them ahead of time that you will be waiting for your car to get done. ALWAYS, ask for your old parts back. If any shop tells you that you have to leave your car, they are probably overbooked and won't have the time to properly repair your car, or they want to do something shady. Asking for your old parts is legal, and it helps you see work is being really done.
Not everyone has hours to sit and wait for a repair. Sure if it is an oil change...sit around and wait...But if you are having an engine rebuilt...You do not want to sit around and wait for that. And sure you can ask for the parts back...As long as you know what you are looking at or have someone who does know look at it...If you don't it is kind of pointless since they could give you whatever parts they had laying around from another model car and you wouldn't know...
Very good advice. Also ask to see what they recommend fixing on your car. They will escort you into the shop. Don’t just take their word that it needs it. I’m the one that’s always out there watching them work. I agree with getting the parts back that you can, but some parts have a very high core charge and not everybody can afford to pay that. You can always ask to see your part after the car has been worked on and not keep it. And parts like an alternator you can usually see after it’s been put in.
@marleonetti7 i believe her over them, they put the old one in, and regardless, it's their fault, so they should take the loss. She didn’t need a brand new alternator.

Point was they diagnosed her car wrong alternator was not the problem so why should she pay for a new one when she never needed it. Clearly they didn't know what they were doing. And probably never put a new one in and just said they did. I don't trust mechanic shops
And Stealerships are better, their diagnosis was that the drive belt needed replacing, drive belts drive the alternator. What was their other diagnosis, that's right she had the wrong oil, she had oil that is exactly the same as there Stealership branded oil that costs 200% more.

Normally, the drive belt and alternator are recommended to be replaced at the same time. She didn't have proof from the dealer saying the other place misdiagnosed the problem (unless I missed it). But her original mechanic should have changed BOTH the drive belt and alternator at the same time... more than likely the drive belt was worn out already. Drive belts (depending on the age and miles of the car) is wear and tear just like the other stuff she bought at the dealer. As a side note, if the alternator was the problem the shop should have given her a failed charge slip.
WOW.... I just finished the video. The Judge's conduct was appalling! The plaintiff was respectful the entire time. I don't know if it's a race issue, on other cases the litigants are nasty to Milan and Milan has NEVER been this rude back to them. WOW. JUST WOW.

This judge is horrible sometimes. She thinks she knows everything. Also it doesn’t take 2hrs for an alternator. My husband just had his replaced and it was less than an hour. SMH it’s like the older she gets the grumpier she becomes like judge Mathis 😒
I think being a judge takes a toll on them after a while, I mean really dealing with people and their bs all day. I think it’s fair to say that and reasonable for them to get grumpy.
Older cars may take an hour, a lot of newer cars can take longer because things like alternators are shoehorned in, meaning you may have to take a few other things out to get to it.
Regardless if she got a "brand new alternator" or not! That wasn't the problem with her car and therefore shouldn't haven't to pay for it. The mechanic should eat that cost. They should have done a full diagnostic to find out what was truly wrong. They made this girl replace her alternator when it was fine and the judge thinks she should still pay some of it because she got a brand new one? She didn't ask for a brand new one Judge! She asked for her car to be fixed and they didn't fix it. So yeah give her all her money back. It's really simple.

What I do know is that when we purchase a new alternator they always trade the old one in for a discount on the new one. She also said it was the principle that he promised her a full refund. That was the crust of the whole lawsuit.
Depends on the business and their policies. Big corporations are more likely to stick to the refund policy while privately owned shops can work to their discretion on how to handle refunds or making things right.

So can we finally admit JM has biases and treats people accordingly. Compare her attitude with this woman vs her attitude with the white med student who drunkenly damaged the Uber drivers car....
Why didnt kniw it all judge ask the manager why he gave her the 200.00 refund when he said he didnt give her the money back instead of assuming they settle on the 200.00. Because she'd already made up her mind
That part
Great point 👍🏾
She was fine, the Judge that is. And the plaintiff got ZERO!
I agree with the judge. As soon as she said, they put the old alternator in days later that’s such BS like they just have it laying around for her. I’m so sure.
If she didn’t ask for 3000 I think she would have been believed and won.
Yep that was a waste of time. She know darn well you can’t sue for word of mouth. And no they’re not giving you the money back
She’s so unprofessional…. Why is she still up there 😂😂😂😂
Unprofessional how?? You clearly have never been before a judge before.
@@Tahiha I have once and trust me she is not it. What a joke.
I believe the plaintiff !! But when ya come to court YOU HAVE TO HAVE PROOF !! If he said that shit she should have made sure it was in writing ✍🏾 ❤
I don't know much about cars but definitely know that shaking had to be something other than an alternator
it depends on what she means by shaking. sometimes the engine will shake when it’s about to die or really clsoe to dying. Maybe that’s what she meant.
Something wasn’t right today with the Judge cuz she was wrong on this 1. That attitude was uncalled for
No attitude from the Judge. You must hate going to a real court, for they act the same with people who disrespect the system.
Sista needs to hold back on the lashes
WOW.... I just finished the video. The Judge's conduct was appalling! The plaintiff was respectful the entire time. I don't know if it's a race issue, on other cases the litigants are nasty to Milan and Milan has NEVER been this rude back to them. WOW. JUST WOW.
Yeah it’s a race thing. And it’s unfortunate cause when you see one side of people from that segment of society it can make you kinda jaded.
I want to be wrong but this is her M O especially with black women
@newbeginning8095 sure it could only be a race thing. Definitely couldn't be that the plaintiff is a greedy liar suing for 10x the amount she paid
Apparently you didn't watch the same video I did. She, the Plaintiff, is obviously a drama queen. She thinks she's all that and she ain't. Just look at the fake eyelashes.
Judge was great and to the point, you missed many points of the case. Plaintiff was wrong and wrong. Bye.
When people continually say "To be honest", or phrases of that ilk, I usually believe them very little.
the plaintiff is pretty , But the judge didnt have to be rude like that
She is so rude to the plaintiff
How to spot liar...when a person talks too much 😂
These lashes need to stop lmao, can't even see her eyes
Why does JM always ask who's going to pay her for her time when she makes over $5,000,000 a year??
And why is she so miserable?
Because people think they can sue for their "time" but time (unlike wages) is NOT a LEGAL reason to sue. It's no better than suing for someone hurting your feelings.
Get a spine and grow TF up
The judge was rude and wrong. Wow
I think the judge getting tired of dealing with the same stuff over and over and over again but damn judge take a break 😂
Judge Milian be mad as hell when she don’t know what’s going on 🤣🤣🤣
This judge is horrible sometimes. She thinks she knows everything. Also it doesn’t take 2hrs for an alternator. My husband just had his replaced and it was less than an hour. SMH it’s like the older she gets the grumpier she becomes like judge Mathis 😒
Facts... She's just getting old and ornery
Agreed
I think being a judge takes a toll on them after a while, I mean really dealing with people and their bs all day. I think it’s fair to say that and reasonable for them to get grumpy.
Depends on the car.
Older cars may take an hour, a lot of newer cars can take longer because things like alternators are shoehorned in, meaning you may have to take a few other things out to get to it.
the plaintiff made perfect sense smh
As a Female who doesn’t know anything about cars… I bring someone who does 😳
Regardless if she got a "brand new alternator" or not!
Plaintiff is pretty.
Makeup
Pretty....ridiculous
@@dance4life1208her skin is clear and she has nice features , why you hating 😂
@@summerbaby634you think you can see her skin ? 😂
@@twill1007 I must have good video quality 😂
Dear Plaintiff, you didn’t deserve the mistreatment by the shop and by the judge!😳😤🥺
This lady can be a real 🐝 at times. She just be acting old and irritated retire already , instead of taking your irritation out on litigants that are respectful
You are the old and rude one. She has a new court show, you can watch it early in the morning. Bye.
Why the Judge shouting like a banshee!!
Because she can...
@@lindarocks209 because shes a loud spicy Latino.
Where’s Adrian ? Judge Milan showed her hate in this one.
I use to like her and respect her but after seeing this I lost respect for her. I don’t think she liked the plaintiff from the first time she saw her. The plaintiff had GOD all over her and the judge was covered in the spirit of the devil. So disappointed in the judge
They charged her & she paid for something they didn't make right "fix".
They were negligent, period. Every time, I have gotten my alternator, water pump and fuel pump replaced.. they informed me that the price included the belts being replaced, because they come off to get to the part therefore they replace the belts as part of the service, due to wear/tear on the belts, it's usually time & overall best to change them at the same time.. ANY MECHANIC SHOP KNOWS THAT! Plus, doing so eliminates the exact issue she had... Now, had they changed the belt as well.. she would've never known she never really needed the alternator.
the judge got this one wrong!
Yea JM was stank. Sometimes I feel like these tv judges try to model after judge Judy but they miss the mark. This was difficult to watch. Kind of glad this show ended because of this. Even the guy at the end gives off a nasty attitude.
What I do know is that when we purchase a new alternator they always trade the old one in for a discount on the new one. She also said it was the principle that he promised her a full refund. That was the crust of the whole lawsuit.
She got ZERO!
She was nasty as hell to the plaintiff
In order to refund you they have to do it in the manner it was charged. They are refunding the transaction
Depends on the business and their policies. Big corporations are more likely to stick to the refund policy while privately owned shops can work to their discretion on how to handle refunds or making things right.
Great point
@@glitter_and_spice1589 Yet, They charged her & she paid for something they didn't make right "fix".

Plaintiff got ZERO! Watch the video again, at the end, you missed it.
No they don't, obviously 🚗🚗🚗
Yup surfacing belt sounds about right
She should have gotten a separate report from that dealer as to what exactly was making it vibrate. And it sure as heck wasn't oil or a cabin filter. LOL
It sounds to me like maybe she had a broken belt on one of her tires. If the air filter is really, really bad, then it could cause the engine to not run so well but definitely not make a car shake.
I don't know what she was trying to describe but an alternator is not going to make your car shake either.
Can I believe the reason the judge was yelling at her is because she was talking BS!
JM in her feels today! 😂
This judge is all about ratings. She's screaming at the plaintiff and calling her a liar for what? That was dishonorable.
As a business owner, when someone pays me in installments, I have to refund each transaction in the same installments. My accountant/bookkeeper absolutely prefers it that way. The Judge is completely wrong about that.
Shes calling plaintiff a liar saying "i know that didn't happen." As a judge, she should know thats false. U wasn't there. U dont know. Disrespectful unnecessarily
Judge Milian was on her high horse today. I don't believe the young lady lied about what she was saying she just didn't have enough proof. She said that she wasn't there when he worked on the car and that she didn't know how long it took him to fix it. She also said that she doesn't know a lot about cars. I don't think she was being malicious but the judge sure was. That's why you don't answer those requests to have your case heard on the show. I took my case to a real court. She over talks the litigants, overlooks pertinent evidence, extremely loud, have thee most biased, and rudest behavior for a judge. Judge Judy is fairer to me even though she can be some way too. It's probably why Milian is now overseeing scripted cases with actors instead of REAL litigants. 😲😲😲
Can business stop sending people that have basically nothing to do with the case?
They do the same in the real world, just visit your local small claims court. See it up close and personal.
8:13 a bad alternator is NOT going to cause the car to shimmy and shake. It could cause starting issues if the battery is NOT being recharged..
Another case where the judge had biases and act erratic
THE PLAINTIFF HAD NO PROOF; stop getting mad cause the Judge isn’t the NICEST😂 LOL
If you ever experience an issue like this, LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION THROUGH THE SECRETARY OF STATE. Repair shops must be licensed through the state. I had a shady repair shop charge me $1500+ for labor and the issue which I told them in so many words was a faulty thermostat, happened the next day and shut my car off on the highway with my children inside. A new thermostat is $250 labor included. Long story short, I kept all of the parts and was reimbursed my $1500. They didn’t wanna take it to court because we did most of our business via text.
These mechanics always getting over on people. $600 for an alternate was a scam to begin with.
Yeah, it never takes as long as they say it takes. What we pay for is their lunch breaks
LOL 😂SHIMMY AND SHAKING 😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂IKR LMBO ON THAT TERM
NoDiddy
The judge woke up on the wrong side of the bed! They charged her for an alternator that she didn’t need. They did not fix the problem!
If the judge gets paid to listen to cases, then there’s no time wasted. Lack of professionalism!
wrong dude......
She reviews these cases before hand so she knows what's going on. She's annoyed for a reason
The judgement was unfair..
A worn drive belt probably what was all needed. And mostly ppl wait till problems with cars get so bad that a small service issue turns into small fortune
Idk i believe the plaintiff. I feel like they did tell her she could have a refund but then just changed their mind.
Shaking cars are from tune ups cause of misfires of spark plugs and ignition coils not ALTERNATORS smh
What's also funny the Judge didn't even know what the alternator core was cause she asked the defended...then flips out on the plaintiff like she now knows cars smh again 😂😂😂 bottom line the mechanics didn't know what they were talking bout and take advantage of folks who don't knows cars I see it happen ALLLLLL THHHHEE TIMMMMEEEE!!!
