Back in the early 70s when school was out for the summer, we would rush to the San Francisco Bay by our house and catch Leopard Sharks like that all day long.
@@averageanglers7075looks like a nice comfortable place to fish. No rocks or steep revines, great safe place for kids too! Tomales Bay looks like there should be lots of places to fish like that on BOTH sides of the Bay.
Great video man. Were you fishing low tide? How’s the hike to that beach? I’ve got minor knee problems, wondering if I could make it. is it very steep or difficult? Can you take a cart / wagon down it? Thanks! Tight lines bro!
Squid / anchovy pro cure with magic string to keep it on, make sure you set drag super low and then tighten once they run. Both shakes and rays just take off..
We use a sinker slider setup with 60-80 mono. Squid works best. I wrap it in magic string and fill it with anchovie pro cure. If you go to that spot cast right past the kelp bed. Make sure your drag is set low and watch them take off. Most of the times they will hook themselves and just run.
@@averageanglers7075 thanks bro keep the videos coming it's gonna be my first time shark fishing. I'm going this Wednesday and is lawson landing a good place to fish for leopard sharks?
@@chaiithan139 we have been trying to make videos recently just haven’t been on the fish in the new kayaks. Kevin and I got Outback hobies. So thanks the support
walter fung you don’t know how to type. Who uses uppercase. Lmao. If you knew anything, you’d know 2 people fishing that day were both new to fishing, but I don’t see your UA-cam channel with your catches. I guess people that don’t know what they are doing just get lucky and catch shark all day. NEXT!
Did you kick the barb off that ray?

New sub here from Oregon. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video, thanks! Can you catch leopards there through the winter?
Yes, they’re around yearly and really fun to catch. Some months are easy to catch them, but this was in October..
Where exactly is this along the bay. I usually fish down toward Marshall.
I think its near marshall. If you look up Hearts Desire, that is the spot we park then walk the trail to indian beach .5 mile

Yea, I don't like parking on the side of the road with not much room.
Such cool looking sharks! I'd love to catch some of those they look like a blast.
Circle hooks, or regular long shank hooks, and what size?
4/0-6/0 hooks and i use regular shank hooks with some squid and sinker slider 3-4 ounce weight.
Awesome what’s the name that spot
Indian Beach, Tomales Bay. Park at Hearts Desire, .5 mile hike to the cove. Hope you enjoy and tight lineZ...
Thanks brother

The hike isn’t too bad. A cart might be a little harder bc the trail is narrow. It’s .5 miles exacly. Not to steep and very doable
@derekroper3168 did you ever go there? Have you found any other spots with easy access?
Some good catches! What bait did you use for the sharks? and the ray?

Time of year?
Well this was in october. They usually are around most of the year.

Thanks bro I really really appreciate the help and you helping a beginner like me I'm gonna keep following your videos

I see that berrypro still putting in work 👍👍
Yup! My buddy loves it. He’s buying one soon.

Good job 🏠🏠👍
Your supposed to pull the rod up then reel them repeat
He knows now and was better later in day. Was his first fish ever.

No shit. I couldn't watch the whole video, just watching him try and reel was painful.
I guess I’m not the only one… I was like wtf?! That thing must have felt like mobey dick reeling it in like that.🤦🏻
It is truly sad to see the lack of respect towards the fish. Then again it is obvious that you guys are beginners.
The good old trout fisherman, good day too you.
@@averageanglers7075 Lol, I’m pretty sure 200+ pound rays, trophy salmon and Bass aren’t what trout fisherman fish for.
