Stunning sharks aren’t they. 🦈
You get about john 🤣👍
Wow they look like big leopard bullhuss....cracking fish well done 👏🏻
They are like a big leopard Smoothound mate.
What a beautiful shark!💥Always enjoy seeing what you are up to!Thank you for all the beauty!
They really are gorgeous looking aren’t they.
Glad you made it to California and I hope you and the family had a good time. Those leopard sharks are pretty plus they are delicious if you bleed them immediately after landing if you wish to keep them. I used to live about three miles from where you were fishing. A lot of memories from off that beach!
I heard that folks like to eat them. They are a stunning looking fish aren’t they.
Great video John. Ben is an amazing guy, his knowledge is extensive and goes to great lengths to ensure his customers have the best chance of putting incredible fish on the shore. He really is ridiculous passionate about the sport. It looks like you had a great session.
Huntington Beach! One of my stomping grounds.
People also fish from Seal Beach pier and the river that runs there. Also Bolsa Chica Wetlands is a nice ramble and bird sanctuary.
Enjoy!
I did look at those on google maps.
@@TheFishLocker The Hangout in Seal Beach has some of the best clam chowder I've eaten, tons better than what is served in the state of Vermont.
Nice John. Chessil beach good too, regards to family, greetings from Cyprus. 🐟🐟🐟🐟
Thanks Jacqui.
Welcome to California John. Greetings from an expat in San Diego. Long time channel watcher .

Awesome.
Massive thanks for sharing as always! Very enjoyable and interesting to see different locations and species.
Cheers.
Rob.
Enjoyed the video. Huntington Beach is fun place to fish. Happy you had a chance to visit my home state. Glad the Leopard shark was released. Slow growing shark. Thornback and Round rays common in the area. Keep up the great educational videos!
I do hear that they are often kept for eating. Too pretty for that for me. 😉
Living the dream, my friend!

This brings back some memories of my own time in Huntingdon Beach back in '81. I ate my first "surf and turf" there. The surf bit was a couple of spider crab legs about 18" long ! I did find Seal Beach better to relax on though.
It is a lovely places. 😊👍🏻
John, I have (British) family in the area. The LA area is great. Enjoy your trip.

I have seen the ocean one time in my life. I watch your videos as soon as they come out. And I can't help but think how much fun it would be, to go foraging with you. And go to Jim's to get it cooked. That's become a dream of mine.
We love the ocean.

Stunning sharks aren’t they. 🦈
Fantastic video, beautiful beach & that sea looked so inviting, so pleased you enjoyed your session. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your hols guys❤
You should come to N.Ireland this summer and make a video, loads of nice spots around the coast to try and great scenery while u fish, great video again 👍
This would be a amazing live stream
Too noisy unfortunately
Cool back on this side of the pond
It’s not a bad old place once you get used to the accents. 😉🤣
@@TheFishLocker Lmao
Good morning Mister ,
Another epic video( obviously ) , but why have I enjoyed listening to you talking while we had a shot of the beach???
Educational i felt , and yet entertaining too.
You’re taking videos to the next level…
Thank you for the adventures
You certainly get around hope you and your family have a great time on holiday
Great video as always, keep them coming 😊😊
Thanks Mark. 😊🎣
Even with all the waiting around, that looks like fun. There's nothing better than having fun doing what you love when you're on holidays. Hope you're enjoying it out there.
BTW those by the wind sailors, we get 'em up north in Canada too. They're in the lakes in the BC interior too. We used to see loads of them in the wrack and weeds on the lake shores. (Kelowna and Penticton on Lake Okanagan, Trout Lake, etc)
We will have to visit the Great Lakes at some point. 😉
@@TheFishLocker You'll enjoy the fishing over there too. 👍
Hope yall have a wonderful holiday,
Thank you.
Great video John! Those sharks looked amazing. Welcome back to the US!
Thank you. 😊🦈
Oooff, the start of this with the audio only coming from one side had me wondering if I blew a speaker on my headphones. Fishing there looks amazing tho, been wanting to go to cali for fishing some day. Ocean fishing always looks like it could be a blast.
Ha. Sorry about that, I had to use the wireless mic for some audio due to the wind and wave noise.
I love thees holiday fishing video's it dont matter where you go you always boss it. Very entertaning as always top class. Tight lines bro 🎣🎣🎣
Brilliant video John few species ticked off the list. Glad you managed to squeeze some fishing in on the holiday. They certainly are little biscuits but always welcome at a new venue. Top angling.
hope you get the chance to visit the Monterey Bay on your trip John, we are having a fantastic orca season.
Wow, What a lovely looking shark and a lovely spot to fish.

Just got home from work. Watching in full now.
Good day at work?
@@TheFishLocker Nope, I get a headache from the machine I run. It has 5 different chemicals.
@@michaelsadventures4261 - I hope you’re feeling better bud
@@TheFishLocker I keep it till I get away from it 2 days in a row.
Nice one mate hope you and the family are having a good Holiday . Looks like great fishing them Sharks looked unbelievable such great markings. 👍🏻 🎣🦞
Stunning looking fish aren’t they.
@@TheFishLocker absolutely mate
Give Jim a shock get that bad boy in Spargo kitchen see what Jim would say and do!! 🤣🤣🌊🎣🦞
As a yank, I am partial to your videos in the states!
Those leopard sharks are so pretty. Amazing colours on them. ❤
Stunning aren’t they.
@TheFishLocker great that you tagged one. Definitely one of the most beautiful looking sharks out there. And a plus side is that it wasn't one of those pesky doggies 😆
I always appreciate and get excited to see when the go outside the UK and having John explain different approaches towards fishing elsewhere. I'm really curious and hope that some freshwater fishing is their future, like elsewhere in the UK, Great Lakes region of the US and Canada, and any number of lakes in like Quebec/elsewhere in Canada.
We have other trips planned don’t worry. 😉
Never fail to impress John, keep up the great work, Leopard shark was stunning.
Thank you Simon.
Absolutely beautiful fish
I think so too. 😊🦈
Great vid pal can't wait for the next
I fish just up the coast at Bolsa Chica State Beach, Corbina is a fun fish to catch as well.
Awesome. I shall try that next time.
@@TheFishLocker Forgot to mention, light tackle makes it even more fun!
Welcome amigo! I fish those waters and Santa Catalina island. Enjoy your visit to souther california.
Well done with the leopard sharks John. Great video. Enjoy your break.
Hi John . Your videos are like Forest Gump's box of chocolates ! I love the variety and , no matter how many years you've been fishing , you always learn something from them . Thank you for another interesting installment and watch those Stingrays .
I was in Georgia last week. Didn't do any fishing but had some fun with the grandkids crabbing. Even managed to catch a couple of decent size Blue crabs and tons of little hermit crabs. Plenty of Stingrays about too!
What a gorgeous looking shark! Better than your average Doggy!
Might have to nip over to CA for some mussels this autumn if they are that big! Hope you have a fantastic trip.
I knew an old lady that swallowed a fly........ They indirectly teach us, all the basics of life before most of us are even 5 years old... It was only when you were pointing out the abundance of life that it popped into my head. It must be forty years plus since I heard that song!!
Thats a cracking looking fish John. I love California. Though my daughter lives in Florida ive always really enjoyed my times in California. Chilled, laid back with cool people. Have a great time mate. 🙂
I personally prefer Florida Keys for the laid back atmosphere
@@TheFishLocker yeah but my Ex Wife's parents live in the the Keys. I'd kill to have "Spargo Jim Kitchen" as a father-in-law 🤣🤣
Wonderful you made it to California. I do hope your trip wasn't just about fishing? The family would enjoy our national parks. If anything, the largest trees in the world, the Sequoias, are just 200mi away so it'd be a long day trip to see these wondrous trees. If time allowed, the the tallest trees in the world, the Redwoods, and one of the most beautiful parks in the world, Yosemite, are a few days drive. We also have the oldest trees in the world, but I have not been to that park so can't speak to that awesome sight. Kind of odd we have all these landmark trees in this one section of the world, but they are here, and are a must see. I hope your fishing has gone well, and those sharks were beautiful! The only fish I have ever caught was off Santa Monica Pier, and it too was a shark, but of the sand variety, and very small. 😁👍😎✌🗽
We visited Santa Monica Pier actually. This was only a short trip to see if the kids and family would enjoy it. We will return.
@@TheFishLocker I'd love to see the little ones eyes when he first sees the huge trees. I do hope you take at least a day trip to the sequoias, assuming S. Cali is your destination again. If you go up north next time, check out the Redwoods. Those trees are along the coast, and there should be some good fishing up that way as well. I wish you, and the family well, and hope you enjoyed the trip.👍😎✌🗽
great video John don't think I could spend 2 weeks on one of those platforms being that close to the beach and not being able to get there
Haha. Been there done that mate. It’s no fun without a fishing rod.
Gorgeous spot to fish! Enjoy! You deserve it.
Thank you.
It would be interesting to hear your comments about the differences in fishing between Florida, California and any other locations you get to on this trip. Hope you get a shot at the Great Lakes some time and New England
I have just been talking to Jim about the Great Lakes. 👍🏻😊
Great session John, and what a stunning shark!
Beautiful aren’t they.
HELL YEAH!! Beautifully done... those leopards are great fish...
Magnificent creatures!..you didn't show the getting of them in.....Isle or Wright dudes in California ..cool. there are piers along the coastline somewhere around there I I think!.....Mecca for multiple toothed triangle finned fishies!....in the deeper water...
Looks like you're having fun. It's just a very pretty big dogfish, your favourite species!!!
rays and sharks are fun but so are the rest of Socal's surf game species! Sightfishing the skinny for corbina and spotfins is really fun and so is going looking for Halibut
Kegiatan memancing yang menyenangkan
Thank you. 😊🦈
That last one looks very similar to our Banjo ray/shark.
It does look like a Banjo doesn’t it
Great vid as always. All i can say is, " where the ´eck do you find rich tea biscuits as big as yer ´and ?"😂. All the best, hope you had a grand time.
Depends on the size of your hand mate.
Just brilliant john absolutely class mate ... cheers for sharing appreciated all the best 👍 😀
Welcome to California!
Thank you.
Welcome to California! If you wander further north near the Oregon border you will find much better fishing and the fish also taste better.
Is that so?
Welcome to the USA!
Thank you.
Fantastic video mate
Love this john
They are stunning fish.
We get Mussels the same size as those, in Scotland.
Horse mussels. 👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker Aye. We call them Clabaidh Dhu's, usually corrupted to Clappy-doo, (Scooby's cousin). It's Scots Gaelic for "black mouth".
I thought its that time of year you must be on holiday, by god how can you handle the heat!! I've been dying at night past few days too hot for me.
Excellent shark I love the markings on them, they look like long bullhuss but obviously not the same markings.
The sting rays are pretty and it's sad that some fisherman kill as many as possible just cuz they sting but it's all about the eco system just like you mentioned in the video about the sand fleas and the muscles the food chain/circle of life. The thornback also looked like a bandjo shark unless its Same species just a different name? .
Looking forward to more content 👌
Awesome! (As the Americans say ;) Have a fab hol. 👍
Thanks mate.
Great Content Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it mate.
