I am an Air Force Junior ROTC instructor and retired Air Force navigator. I'm strongly considering getting the Gleim Virtual Cockpit BATD since we're fortunate enough to be able to afford it. Instead of just teaching the kids about the physics of flight, it would be amazing to actually get them to experience it and hopefully get them interested in careers in aviation, particularly future pilots. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for this video and for splitting the bundle for those of us who already have the X-Plane software. Have been waiting for it for over a year. When can we expect an update for the X-Plane 11?
Why is the clearing turn being taught as to the RIGHT first and not left first, which is procedure? If you are clearing the area and there were an aircraft behind you heading in the same direction that were faster you would be moving into the path of an overtaking aircraft despite having the right-of-way as the aircraft being overtaken (FAR 91.113) I am interested to see if you all will do Instrument, X-plane is a great program to do instrument work in as all of the navaids actually work. X-plane 10 also works really well with VATSIM which helps you build radio proficiency by giving you real-time, live ATC from real people on servers from around the country.
It would be much more useful (and makes much more sense) if Gleim had an x plane course like this for *INSTRUMENT* training. Simulators are naturally useful for INSTRUMENT training, since "feel" and "visual cues" are not as important as it was, during primary training. I am in the process of starting my training for the instrument rating, and am REALLY disappointed that Gleim does not have an equivalent instrument course, as this would have been super useful to "prepare and get ahead of the game" in order to familiarize myself with the various procedures, and in the process save a lot of time and money. I'm still going to do it on my own, but a nice "guided and structured" course like this would have helped tremendously! Gleim, if you're reading this, maybe it's time to get one out on the market?
Try to see it from wider perspective. Imagine being person knowing literally nothing about aviation, aerodynamics or how to handle aircraft. For such person this course is very good.
I agree: this course looks great for private license. Now I’m working on instruments and wish there were a similar gleim + x-plane course. X-plane’s built-in ATC sometimes works for practice (ILS) approaches but sometimes sends me 20 miles out of my way or asks me to maintain an altitude and report the airport in sight when there are solid cloud layers between me and the ground (and cancels my atc control if I descend).
@jc vg This x-plane + gleim looks helpful (I haven’t tried it yet) but to get an FAA certificate (“license”) in the USA you also have to spend time in a real airplane doing dual instruction, solo flight, cross-country and night flight, and flight exam. (You also have to take a written exam.) More information about requirements is spelled out in online documents from FAA: look for Code of Federal Regulations “14 CFR 61.99” and “14 CFR 61.109” which list “Aeronautical Experience” requirements for “Recreational” and “Private” pilots respectively.
Great idea and makes perfect sense but when you use gleim x-plane with x-plane 11 the simulation is very different and uncontrollable. Waste of money if you cant fly the plane because the games physics are drastically changed. Do not recommend this course only because the flight simulation is changed from original x-plane-11 physics.
I am a real general avation pilot and for some reason gamers and sim designers think the harder it is to fly the more "realistic" it is. Not so. If real aircraft were as hard to fly as some sims there would dozens if not hundreds of accidents weekly and daily

Very nice. I can't pass a flight medical so you can imagine how happy I am to find this program.
what happened? im going threw the same shit but because i have a few DUIs, but ill be able to in a few years. just gotta jump through hoops.
July 2022 ~ is this still the best sim based training ?
How do you get plugin to speak the checkpoints and notices? Mine is not working.

I've been considering getting this Gleim course but I'm concerned it's not compatible with X-Plane 11 yet. Is this the case?
Any plan on getting down to doing Helicopter flight lessons?

Is there any plan to make this course available with MSFS2020?
No. MFSF2020 lacks many of the key functions to be compatible.

What sort of systems do they go into in the navigation systems + cross country and advanced planning?
The planes in the course have your choice of Garmin530/430 or G1000. We cover GPS and VOR navigation.
I've been looking for something like this. Does it work in VR?
I have the same question.. and does it work with Vulcan?
@@peddipartha Yes it works in Vulcan
It can work in VR if you set up a virtual window.
Too bad no Mac OSX version
I just cant afford the classes
When can we expect xplane 11 functionality
can i get my license threw this program

Can we get Mac support?
excellent
Hey I really like integrate flight lesson. I like to see more! I'm fighting with my wife so I can buy Gleims Bate simulator. just kidding LOL

Wow so bad.
