Perfect price, works on Verizon, heck yes. If it supports NFC I'm all in! My only gripe is Android 11, but I'll survive. Finally, I've been waiting for this!
@@goodereaderofc! Spend the time to get a real feel for it. Things like battery life with day-to-day apps, responsiveness of the system and so on can't be determined nearly as quickly as a traditional reader. Aliexpress has it at $275 so it's certainly more affordable than some of their notes 😂
I'm probably in the minority opinion on this, but I really want a black and white verion where the camera sensor lacks a color filter array and thus can only shoot in monochrome.
I have a hisense a9. Due to cellular band lacking, I can't use it as a phone. But it does make a nice eReader wifi device. Though for reading, I prefer a bigger screen...
After getting my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, I can't imagine not having a pen. It's literally the best and most handy feature on a phone ever. If you've never had one, it's life changing. The ridiculous computing is also something I can't go back on. I could handle a smaller screen I guess, but I wouldn't be happy about it. But I love the idea of an E Ink screen. Hopefully there will be something a bit better in the near future!
@@shawncarson4109 I’m the opposite. I had an S23 Ultra and I just thought the pen was just the most useless thing ever. I never had any reason to use it and just couldn’t justify it.
In the review, could you compare the screen to something like a boox color go 7? I'm curious if the bigme xcolor management is an improvement. Can you also show comparisons outside in full sun? Thats the biggest reason I'm looking at e-ink.
I'm using Pixel 4a but I am thinking about selling it for buying this. I have watched the review on Bilibili, their speed is incredible compared with Hisense. What intrigues me the most is the sd card slot, a rare breed nowadays. I could imagine usage scenario with expansion: hi-res storage and DAP with dongle, media storage...
So I got one of those... but in order for it to become my companion a need a phone case. I prefer folio-style (the ones you open like a book). Any advice on how to get one? Or should I DIY something?
I’m glad they’ve done it. I hope we see a metal version soon, but I’m just glad we have another manufacturer making phones. It’s probably not realistic anytime soon, but Sony seems to be the only likely well known company that is a possible candidate for one of these. I’d love to see that. It’d probably drag me away from iOS.
@@goodereader Those are basic functions. Boox Palma didn't invent these functions themselves. They copied these functions from other smartphones. I asked the Bigme support a week ago, and today they made an update with the widget function.😍
I haven't been able to generate shortcuts for webpages on the home screen so far (tried with native browser, firefox and chrome). Perhaps this is due to the launcher.
I am wondering if the device will have Qi2 wireless charging : it could be used as 4G/5G connected always-on color E-ink display to magnetically stick to different types of Qi2 chargers. I wish Bigme would do a color E-ink tablet with Qi2 wireless charging : it would be a game changer !!!
The fact that there's no proper external speaker for media playback is a bit annoying. Sharing that functionality with the earpiece speaker seems dangerous.
This is because epaper is incredibly complex to make Also there is only one company that makes it commercially Also, there is a lower demand for it. These are all very simple obvious reasons as to why it is more expensive. Anyone can buy a $19 tablet on wish But that's just simply not possible with e paper
Hey! It's just a Hisense A5 CC, nothing more. A bit changed, but almost the same. Good old Hisense A5 CC screen - 100% the same. Be frank and say the truth to your viewers.
Android 14? Wireless/Qi Charging? NFC? Good Camera? No, it has none of these.... How can they release a phone now in 2024 not include them. What? Why??
Would be nice to have a side by side review. For sure NxtPaper will be a more traditional experience. I would have hoped for a phone size transreflective device like the eyemoo s1, but Bigme Hibreak came first.
@@marcobat52 yes calling next paper a hybrid is just wrong imo. It’s a good matte LCD screen that is smarter to adjust its color and intensity to the surroundings. That’s it. Like I mean it has been similar screens depending on how you see it for 15 years or more. It’s just that many had never used such as they grew up with their shiny MacBook and iPad / iPhone screens
5:00 is where he finally stops yapping and shows the color eink screen for anyone wondering

The review is coming soon. We have to learn the device first :-)

There is a black and white version
They make two versions. A black and white, or a kaleido 3
You can Choose either one freely
For b/w version it will be great
I looked at the page of the B&W one, but alot was talking about color... which makes no sense.

At last!!!! Definitely anxiously waiting for the full review.
I am waiting for the version with Android 14, I hope it comes out soon.
It is great to see more e-ink phone! My dry eye thanks
This is an awesome phone and at a great price $241 USA

When will the full review be available? I'm about to make a purchase and would prefer to wait otherwise. But I‘m hyped^^
Is it easy to debloat ? Do the crappy apps uninstall just fine and flawlessly ?
Will they offer an "international" version for those residing outside America?

What did you mean by "chat gpt"? Is there some kind of chatbot OS Integration or do you just mean that you can download the Chat GPT android app?
Got the color one. I like it a lot. Not used as a phone yet but it’s pretty nice for what I wanted. When I go to China I’ll use it.
Wonderful. Nice to hear some feedback already :-)
What usa carrier does this work wi😊th? No atnt they say imei not correct
Hello brother. Will the network of this phone also support an Indian sim card?
Many things are missing like widgets, navigation buttons. I dont know why they didn't just copied the Boox Palma.
Because they're two different devices, big me wouldn't want a copy an e-reader because they didn't make an e-reader

It looks fun. But the lack of speakers is kind of lame.
Glass screen is annoying. I think they do that either out of laziness, or perhaps someone thinks it makes it seem more premium to the buyer?
