  • Prepare in the fall for the perfect lawn in the spring by over-seeding with a mixture of seed and Milorganite® for food with nitrogen 6%, iron 2.5%, calcium 1.2% and phosphate 4%.
Fall is the best time to seed cool-season grasses in most parts of the United States. The soil is still warm enough for germination, but the days are shorter and cooler, which helps the grass roots to develop before winter. And Milorganite® will help to grow that perfect lawn.
Steps on how to seed fall grass:
Choose the right grass seed. The best grass seed for your area will depend on the climate and your personal preferences. For example, if you live in a hot, humid climate, you'll want to choose a heat-tolerant grass like Bermuda grass or zoysia grass. If you live in a cold climate, you'll want to choose a cold-tolerant grass like Kentucky bluegrass or tall fescue.
Prepare the soil. The soil should be loose and free of weeds and debris. Rake the soil to remove any large clumps and then add a layer of compost or topsoil.
Spread the grass seed. Use a broadcast spreader to evenly distribute the grass seed over the prepared soil. Rake the seed lightly to help it make contact with the soil.
Water the seed. Water the seed thoroughly, but don't overwater. The soil should be moist but not soggy.
Keep the seed moist. Water the seed regularly, especially during the first few weeks after germination.
Here are some additional tips for seeding fall grass:
Seed in the morning or evening when the temperatures are cooler.
Avoid seeding if the ground is wet or frozen.
Apply a starter fertilizer to help the grass seed germinate.
Water the grass deeply and infrequently.
Be patient! It takes time for new grass to establish itself.

I love when you have a new video!
Oh! I broke my arm and haven’t been able to weed this summer. What can I put down to kill all the weeds, including crabgrass?
Long story, but a lawn kid filled in low spots with dirt that was FULL of weeds, and now they have spread everywhere!
    Help, please!!!
    Should I call a company?
I do have a Tenacity-type mix (3 parts) for non toxic weed control, but with one arm, it will be hard. THANK YOU!!

Milo plus seed...throw it down before the leaves fall so when you rake, the seed has roots and won't be pulled up.

Good idea! Now I have to kill my weeds first. Ugh!
