    Oh wow. Your Misurina is so pretty. Honestly when I saw the colors in the original pattern picture I didn’t like it at all but seeing it in your color choices I just love it. I guess color combos make it or break it for me 😁 No, I never wash any good knits in the washer. I love your podcast. You crack me up and remind me of a girl I worked with years ago. 🧶

      I am the same way when it comes to choosing patterns. I always look at projects in Ravelry to see what everyone else has come up with to give me some good ideas. Glad I make you laugh! Love that!

    Love your pod! You crack me up! “…I have thoughts…” and “how can we be friends so I can share your house?” I’m with you! It’s sweltering where I am. Have a fab trip! Can’t wait to see what’s up with the Ranunculus!

    I have used Cascade Yarns in the past. I can't remember what I made with it, but it's a good yarn to work with. My socks (some of them) will go in the washer, but nothing else. I live in the Northeast along the coast. I love the seasons! I've lived all over the USA but I always end up moving back to New England.

    Love your podcast, so happy to have found you. I hope you have a nice, restful trip. Unfortunately, it’s very warm and humid here in Massachusetts ❤

    I've used cascade yarns and they are really nice! I've machine washed mine, the key is to put them in a delicate bag and wash in cold water on the delicate cycle. I still lay mine out to dry. I once knit my sister a headband with the cascade yarns and she washed it in the machine on warm/cold and then tossed it in the dryer cause she was in a hurry and it felted (but that was the worsted cascade and not SW). She was a bit sad that it felted but it did end up being warmer for her ears 😅So just be careful and really just commit to the cold water delicate cycle if you do try that. I've put patons kroy sock yarn (non-sw) in the machine on those settings in the delicate bag and they've also resisted felting. Hope that helps! 😊

    Really enjoying your podcasts and knits.
    Please could you share the link to the podcast you recommended as I couldn’t quite hear it. The transcript shows you as saying wool and vine, but I don’t think you said that . I’m always looking for recommendations for podcasts.
    Looking forward to your next one

    I love cascade! I'm currently finishing a shawl with it, and it's great! You should also como to the DFW fiber fest! It's not like the fiber fests up north, but it's still very fun!

      @thepoppylibrary It's weird being surrounded by wool and going out and feeling the Texas heat, but it's really fun! Btw, I'm also mexican, and I LOVE your podcast. I love seeing other Mexicans knitting! I didn't know how much representation mattered to me, but it does, and your podcast brings me a lot of happiness.

    Regarding "washing your knits" - in my mind for years I was like, I need to only use superwash so that I can have ultimate flexibility in washing at home but like you, I NEVER wash my handknits in the machine. Most hand knits don't need to be washed that often- am I right?! - so for the handful of times they do, I like to wash by hand, and kind of find the process joyful and cathartic. So now I never look to see if a yarn is superwash or not. There is ONE exception, and that is for gift knitting. Anyone who doesn't knit their own garments probably doesn't hand wash their garments. So for gift knitting alone, superwash is way to go bc you know these items are more likely to make their way into regular laundry. I know you didn't ask superwash vs non-superwash, but it kind of is part of this machine wash vs hand wash debate.

      @thepoppylibrary  Рік тому

      Yes, I have had the same thoughts! I never wash my knits that often either. Good point of gift knitting. I hardly give my knits away because of the potential mistake of washing them in the washing machine but, I love your thought on the superwash yarn trick! Thank you!

    I’m about to do your beautiful trip that you made in kfo cotton Marino in piglet myself. Before I start, can I ask if the tee has stretched at all since wearing it ( I’m unsure if I should go down a size to allow for this.
    I have never knit with cotton before, but I read that cotton has no memory and can stretch after wearing it. Advice from you would be gratefully received please xxx

    • @thepoppylibrary
      @thepoppylibrary  Рік тому

      I can say the tee has not stretched for me yet but that's not to say that it won't. I just haven't experienced it. On the the plus side, I wouldn't mind if it did!

    Yarn labelled as machine washable - it is super wash? All the natural cuticles of the wool has been stripped off. In order to make it soft. Garments lose their shape and stretch.

    • @thepoppylibrary
      @thepoppylibrary  Рік тому

      Good to know. Yes it is labeled as super wash - I may just do a hat with this yarn :)
