I use to go hard on those Auntie Anne’s soft pretzels back in my day and I think I like the homemade version better! This recipe is so easy and uses simple ingredients! The results are homemade soft pretzels bites that bake up soft and chewy. It’s seriously hard to eat just one! No dipping sauce require with these little cuties. They are perfect for snacking, dessert and even appetizers.

I tried this recipe yesterday and it tastes JUST like Auntie Anne’s. My whole family loved them and I’m making more now but more regular pretzels with just butter and salt coated. Can’t wait to try more of your recipes!

Olivia Bates did you add milk to the batter or something? Because I didn’t have nearly as much liquid as she did when she added the dry ingredients.
@@mirandajones6959 The majority of the liquid was the proofed yeast- how much water did you use for that step? For another recipe I tried by her that used dough, I forgot that she used 1 cup of water, and I instead followed the packet instructions which said like only 1/4 cup of water, and I realized immediately my stuff was far more dry than hers- so it could be that!

for the dough:
1 cup warm water (120-130 degrees) use a thermometer
1 packet (2¼ teaspoon) rapid rise instant yeast
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar packed
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
2¼ cups all-purpose flour + more for kneading (see note)
Baking Soda Water Bath
3 cups very hot water
1/4 cup baking soda
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
1 cup granulated sugar (can use half granulated and half brown if desired)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup salted butter melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I never write reviews but GIRL - these were incredible. They came out so soft and delicious. I don’t live in the US and I only get auntie anne’s pretzels when I’m visiting, so I seriously cherish them. These tasted exactly like auntie anne’s cinnamon sugar pretzels, and I’m so glad I made them.

If you mean the yeast and water sugar mixture it takes about 10 minutes

Ok so these look good but wait till you try out MY recipe
Cinnamon pretzel bites
1 cup warm milk
2 tbsp melted butter
1/3 tsp salt
3 tsp grounded brown sugar
1 tsp yeast
2 cups flour
Method:
First add the warm milk to a bowl and add in 3 tsp sugar then mix in your butter,salt and yeast.Gradually add in your 2 cups of flour (add more if needed) knead until forms a dough,wrap in cling-film and put over hot stovetop to let rise for 30 mins.Once risen punch dough to knock out all of the air.Next boil some water in a kettle,meanwhile cut the fought into mini bite-sized peices or pretzel shapes,and add in 1 tsp baking powder.Dip the peices into the mixture and place on baking tray.Preaheat the oven and put your bites in for about 15-20 mins.Once golden take out and let cool,then you melt around 2 tbsps of butter.After your bites have cooled dip them in butter and then dunk them in a mix of your brown grounded sugar and 1/3 tsp grounded cinnamon.Lastly,enjoy!

I made these exactly and they were so delicious!! i recommend only using 3/4 cup sugar at the end, though. otherwise, my family devoured them. they literally lasted like auntie annies, or even better!! I love this! ❤️❤️😩

I don't understand the part when you say the dough should be put into a warm place such as the oven to make the dough rise for 1 hour. What temperature do you set the oven to do this step. How do you do this step?

I just made these and they were INCREDIBLE!!! We have this pretzel place called Auntie Anne’s here and i cannot stress enough that they tasted IDENTICAL!!! I used all parts strong white bread flour and I loved it. Personally, the chew I got from it was so much more satisfactory than the usual pretzels I buy. Deadass, I feel like I could use the recipe for pizza dough. Maybe I’ll experiment😂anyway thank you so much. I’ve made your dinner rolls and one of your pasta recipes before too and you’ve never failed me :))

This was an excellent recipe! I only had an issue with the dough being very sticky. I think I added another cup of flour at least and it was still very sticky and difficult to work with. Do you have any tips as to what I may have done wrong?
Sometimes what can help is oiling your hands and the board, that way the dough won’t become dry from too much flour. And maybe this just isn’t the right recipe for you. I recommend Emma’s Goodies pretzel recipie, they came out really nice🥰 Sometimes different recipes fit for different people

My yeast won’t rise 😩🥺 what am I doing wrong? I don’t have a thermometer so I boiled the water some added the sugar and a packet of instant yeast but nothing
You’re not meant to add boiling water because you’re killing off the yeast. The way I test if the water is good temperature for the yeast is to put my finger in it if I can handle the heat then it’s good but if it’s too hot and I burn my self then I take out some of the hot water add cold water
