Fun fact about pretzels... Pretzels were originally made by monks to ease their hunger when they fasted during Lent. They shaped them to resemble crossed arms in prayer. The pretzels were made with flour and water, but no yeast, because in the Bible yeast symbolizes sin. The pretzel can remind us of our need to repent of our sin and turn to Jesus with all our heart. (See 1Corinthians 5:6-8.)
Many Christian services use unleavened wafers to stand in for the bread Jesus broke during the last supper. But maybe they should break out some pretzels instead. Some illuminated manuscripts from medieval Europe actually show Christ treating the 12 disciples to a feast of the twisted snack the night before his crucifixion. This detail is more indicative of the period when the illustrations were made than the time of the last supper. During the Middle Ages, pretzels were a popular Lenten food. The wheat flour dough doesn’t contain meat, eggs, sugar, or dairy, which meant Catholics could eat the simple treats even if they were on a highly restricted diet. Pretzels were so ubiquitous in the weeks leading up to Easter that it was natural for medieval artists to sneak them into their depictions of Jesus’s final meal.
The Passover bread was made without leaven. That's why Jesus attributed the Passover bread to himself. A perfect and sinless sacrifice in behalf of all mankind.

Yes agree me too 😊

I grabbed a Grands Honey Biscuits. I’m going to make these with frosting glaze drizzled over them.
I love her voice. So soothing! It's like listening to those recordings of the ocean, or of rain. Great recipes too!

Oh Pam. It just started raining and got real cold and now you're going to make me start baking 😂
I love pretzels. Fantastic recipe. I made 2 ingredient dough (1 cup self rising flour and 1/2 cup plain whole milk yogurt). Delicious.
Pam you’re genius!!🙏🏻❤️
I just been to the store this wk I’m going to have to wait to try this on the next errand run. Would never thought about using biscuits. Thanks for today new lesson. I love mines with Nacho cheese.

As a granddaughter of a grandfather who’s from Germany ( Bavira to be exact) I have to admit I love this idea
This is in that category of Miracles. God knows what we want and what’s on our mind! Lol!
I’ve been craving big soft pretzels with cheese dip and not able to go out and about currently. Of all things, out of the Blue , you’re doing a video on easy big soft pretzels! That’s God! Thank you for doing this well done video! I’m definitely going to make these! Bon appétit and blessings
God is so good isn't He? He always seems to do stuff like this where you just know He did it just for you! God bless you in Jesus's mighty name! 😊✝️🫂❤️
@@shalomsister Thank you for your response! God is great! Who would guess that a pretzel video would introduce two sisters in the Lord! Just like the arms of a pretzel are tied together, so are we in unity too! Instead of being dipped in cheese we’re baptized in unity in the love of God! LoL! To you and to any other person who reads our replies may the Lord always give you Your daily bread and sometimes in the form of a Big pretzel! May your needs be met and may you always have the Peace of God which passes all understanding as you keep your heart and mind in Union with Christ Jesus! Keep patience in the faith and someday we’ll see each other in a heavenly kitchen with Pam and we’ll all be making
Ba-MANNA bread together! God bless you Shalom Sister and others!
Love In Jesus!❤️🐑 bon appétit and blessings!
@@hislamb4528 Oh amen and amen sister! I receive your prayer and pray the same to you and yours! He really is coming soon and it's going be the best reunion that has ever occurred! All of us meeting our Lord face to face,, meeting each other and seeing our loved ones in the Lord who passed before us! Can you just imagine the wedding feast of the Lamb? Bet we have lots of everything we like to eat!😊😄! God bless you and so great to fellowship here on UA-cam! Love, Teri in Texas 😊🕊🔥💖✝️🫂❤️
Right! 😂
Now, your comment (& Ms. Pam's AWESOME video) -WITH the cheese dip, made me want a pretzel!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
I remember the first time we tried making pretzels, dough was incredibly screwed up and too flimsy even after we let it rise properly, twisting them into shape was an absolute sticky nightmare. I gotta try your idea Pam lol
Ummmhmmm lol. As much as I cook and love to cook I’ve been there with the pretzels 🥨
Ohmygoodness, genius!
I came back here to say how delicious these are! They are even delicious the next day! Instead of stuffing them with the extra working of the dough, I simply dipped them into melted plum jam. I topped them with cinnamon sugar during baking. I also dipped them in mustard. So good! Will repeat for sure. Thank you, Pam! This recipe is priceless.
I love this idea!
I make what I call pretzel bites . I roll mine into bite size balls dip in just warm water with the baking soda added. Then I do the egg wash and and kosher sea salt. Then bake yum.My Grand babies love them and they can handle the bites better than the big ones. Thank you Ms Pam for the share ,love your show and your spunk 😊❤✌️
Do you have a video? Would definitely love to try it
Look marvelous
Hey Sis! I love your program. I have had a lot of tragedy in the last couple of years. You put a smile on my face and for a moment I am a little less lonely.❤

Yum yum yum yum!!!!! Love love love, thank you!! For me I gotta have salt with mine!
I'm a HUGE fan of soft pretzels, but wouldn't these just taste like biscuits?
Just love Pam!
One ingredient turned into 3 in less than 1 minute

These look fabulous!!! We're going to do this on our family movie night. Thank you very much!!!!
Hope you enjoy it!
Fact- although I love these, Canned biscuits are loaded with trans fats, other ingredients in them are bad for health. Eat like one every few months❤
Yes I agree Pam place is amazing love her n her cooking n her heart 👍🏽👍🏽
Aaawww thank you
ONE INGREDIENT?? No way.. 😮
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 LOVE IT
The boiling part threw me off😮😮 whaaaaaaaaa
Automatically more than 1 ingredient 🤦🏼♀️
One ingredient you’d have to run out and buy I guess.
