    I saw most of these on the streets growing up in Chicago. I was living at Addison, St. & Cicero Avenue in Chicago. I can remember them all. Especially Saturday mornings. A lot of them would be parked in the Sears Roebuck parking lot by the intersection of Cicero Ave., Milwaukee Ave., & Irving Park Road (i.e; six corners). I finished high school in Jan. 1962 & I will be 76 years old in a few months. Just trying to restore one of these relics would be a real challenge. A lot of time. A lot of money & a certain amount of frustration.

    That was funny, you can see a White,1980 type Chevy Citation, in all these oldies but goodies! I had a blue one, 2 door in 1992 to 1994. Wish I never got rid of it now. It needed a lot of work though. Drove it the junkyard though. Got 25 dollars for it! Love these old cars and your video!

    I am a fan of "Old Iron" but buying parts cars which means "some assembly required" is not what I have in mind. This was back when Americans took pride in their cars.

    Living in the rust belt, (Wisconsin), it's nice to see all the prestine sheet metal on the bottoms of these cars.

    Thanks to N.A.T.O., here in 1950s-60s Italy there were lots of things like these ones round the streets... my bis-grandpa owned a 1934 Ford V8 Business Coupe (3 Window) beetween 1934 and 1937, when he roled in army. In 1943, car was sequestred by germans, and who knows wherever they sent it... my grandpa started with a 1949 Oldsmobile Hydramatic Convertible, an 88, that he bought at 13, in 1953, and sold in 1956 to buy an all-new Buick Riviera Convertible... That year, he started working as an international-traveling truck driver. He drove his 1958 Peterbilt 351 to Europe, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Kenya, Iceland, Egypt, Turkey, and with all cautions and permissions, lso to Yugoslavia.... but the REAL problem in WESTERN HEMISPHERE Is that THERE ARE BUICKS, CHEVROLETS AND OLDSMOBILES ROTTING IN A FIELD AND MANY-A TOYOTAS, NISSANS AND HONDAS ON THE ROAD....

    Um passeio no passado. Grande parte da relação homem- automóvel está nesse espaço. Pena não sabermos se serão restaurados ou se permanecerão assim. Interessante era a qualidade das chapas empregadas nas carroçarias. Carros com mais de 50/60 anos com latarias perfeitas, outros preservando até as pinturas. Maravilhoso.

    These cars had so much style, distinctiveness, and character; heavy gauge metal. big chrome bumpers. Today, they all look alike to a large degree, with plastic bumpers, you see on side of roads at times.

      @TheOzthewiz 3 роки тому

      Oh, and you NEVER saw these "classics"on the side of the road, back in the day? Just ONE day in 95* traffic, would be enough to "vapor lock" ANY of these "classics"! Compared to todays "plastic" cars, these things didn't even come CLOSE to being reliable!

  • @DougCameraMan
    @DougCameraMan 7 років тому +20

    Many of them will sell ... if the price is right. That's what it all boils down to as most of these cars will need a lot of time, work and money to bring them back. Some of them don't look like they need too much but that's without looking at their interior, floor boards, engine. Others are too far gone and would cost more to try to bring back than they would be worth. Lots of snow during those Minnesota winters. Bet there's a lot of rust. Sad that they all ended up here.

    • @sawtnpeppa
      @sawtnpeppa 7 років тому +2

      if you go to the website, you see the down 'n' dirty, ( rusty) even though " some' would be awesome to bring back, you have to remember they are in a junk yard for a reason the vid is a year old, a lot of the same cars are on it . not for the squeamish , nor the amateur !

      No racism, he was delighted to see the cars even though he didnt understand it..he said it as a ignorant term or how other people out of the state's are taught to call Americans.

    Check the undercarriage and frame really good before you purchase one of these cars. Remember, Minnesota is part of the rust belt and being stored on dirt they rusted quickly from the ground up. But there are many beautiful cars in this collection.

    Maybe it is just me but it seemed like the roofs of the cars were bouncing up and down just a little. 8 AM so I am certainly not drunk. Good luck selling though, you have a nice selection.

    Any chance I can buy a Short Tailstock 727 Transmission with the parking brake on end of tailstock, I need a SB aluminum 727, hear only early 1962 has that. I have a SB core so I could use parts off a BB Mopar with short tailstock with parking brake.
