Excellent video, great finds! We will look forward to seeing and hearing about progress on the projects using these parts!
Bob you inspired me to get out my good condition / restored 1953 admiral Bakelite set and put it on display in my living room with a TiVo mini feeding into a modulator.
That sounds cool!
I don't watch all your repair vids but seems like I catch the swap meet vids, and tbh really enjoy them, thanks for posting them !!
Bob you hit paydirt good job Thank the wife lucky you. thanks a billion for showing all this neat stuff
Great Haul Bob!
Bob, be sure to label each box for which set you are working on, as you are using it.
I used to just buy every box of tubes I found at garage sales in the 70s and 80s. I have boxes and boxes from the teens up to the 70s. Lots of tube testers and like that as I needed that stuff to repair tvs to sell.
You know your serious about your hobby when you are able to use nos tubes in boxes as "packing peanuts" for your replacement RCA tuner. That's a luxury most of us don't have. I'm jealous. :)
...that's only temporary?
Like your channel. I watch both you and shango 😊
Thanks for watching :)
Oh my goodness, I had that exact shelf as a kid. Those colored bins are burned in my mind. They also made one (that I had) that was a train table with a rack on the bottom for those same boxes.
I'd love a high resolution image of the Norelco cover so I could study it. I'll probably never have one of these, but I'd like to know more about it. Thanks!
Bob, let me know if that GE cabinet front cover does not fit the cabinet I gave you. I have the front cover still and can ship if you need it. I think the front cover you have should fit.
I'm interested in seeing the projection set work and how good the picture is.
The 6HA5 was used as a R.F. amp in tuners, as I remember
The can of replacement smoke made me think...everybody loves the smell of Tenite, why not market a Predicta cologne? I can see it now. "As smelled on Tv". At long last the heady scent of offgassing tenite is available as a fragrance you can wear!..go on,we dare you!. The woman's version can be called "Debutante" and the man's version "Continental". "Predicta...the scent of tomorrow, today!" It will steal your breath away. Commercial opens on an elegant soiree.."I'll always remember the night I met her! The intoxicating scent of rancid butter and circus vomit suddenly filled the air and caught me midstep, and when I looked to check the soles of my shoes, there she was! Laying there in a stunning gold evening dress!...."PREDICTA! You never know what it will pick up!" Why the copy practically writes itself! Nobody steal my idea now! Im on my way to the vice presidency and key to the executive washroom!
4:08...not all that it's cracked up to be-(?)
get it? get it? get it?
snucker-snucker-snucker!!!
6BY5 is a decent rectifier if I am not mistaken. Can be used as a damper tube in TV's
Yes, you are correct
@@bandersentv The only reason I know is because I got one in a lot and looked it up LOL.
8:08...some people just don't know any better
Nice finds! Did you already work on your other Protelgram? Do you have videos of it? I would really like to se how they work on a screen, size, distance, brightness... I have a European projection set but it projects the image on a 20" screen on the cabinet through a mirror.
No. I stopped working on it because I knew I was getting this much nicer unit. I also have a Scott TV that projects onto a built-in 20" screen.
Who doesn't love puppies and kittens. Also; noticed a few 6AN8's they are used in the Dynaco MKII and III power amps.
I'm surprised. They are TV IF tubes.
Dogs are definetly the most incredible creatures God ever put on earth. There's a reason the saying "man's best friend" is used when referring to dogs.
6AN8 used in Heathkit AA-151 intergrated amp from 1962. Used as driver and phase splitter which feeds the 6BQ5 push pull outputs.
...my first TV was a Firestone table top TV, and it used a 6AN8...
@@Suddenlyits1960...I'm a cat person myself.
How big does that missing belt need to be? There’s a 3d printer that uses belts about that size, gotta be better than rubber bands
Ziplock bags have been my go to...
you'd make a great neighbor!
My fav over the years had and Im
Not kidding.... about 200,000
78 rpm's
30 juke boxes + stuff
He crossed the street and said
Your playing some interesting
Records for 1995
Showed him my RCA black lacquered 40 watt
He gave me a couple hand fulls
Of Cab and others. He liked my nervous norvise
I had maybe 100 78's at the time
And when I got busted for growing weed 15 years later
The state patrol guy says
Lets go down stairs....
walked into my studio
Art computer music
And said whats the deal?
It had about 40 78 albums lining the wall
You know four records in an album, 8 tracks why they call
An album and album.
Whats the deal?
Oh thats some of the best music ever made...
he goes I know.

Two years later and two weeks

Washington State
Luck had little to do with anything.
Oh and ten pounds....
I seen a 1x2 tube,Whats that used for?
Isn't that like a smaller version of a 1B3 high voltage rectifier?
Yes
Mini HV rectifier. Used in many portable and dome larger TV's
Focus rectifier on older color sets.
@@bandersentv used to have about a million tubes in my youth and remember tall, about 9 pin tube with cap. Number sounded familiar.
That is a parts bin, just for kids
Little Tykes Jr. Tube jockey playset. Because you're never to young to change a faulty flyback or some electrolytic caps, even if you can't change your own diaper!
Was the peaking coil made in China?🤣
Lol, took me a minute to get it
Peking... 😅
