The North Country Trail - February 25, 2024

On this frigid Sunday morning, I traveled to the trailhead on Guitonville Road, just south of Marienville. After meeting with some friends who had spent the night at the Cicely campsite for morning coffee, I ventured on to check out the beaver dams at Coon Creek. 2 miles out and back = 4 miles for the day. Year to date miles is now 36.6.

On Saturday, me, my wife, & our 12 & 14 year old boys hiked to “Eternal Flame Falls” near Orchard Park, NY. It was only about 20 degrees out & the stream we hiked on was icy…lots of character was built that day!

Hey Dave, I believe it's pronounced "GITE-EN-VILLE", used to hunt on the other end, towards Newmansville. Planning on doing a little hike on the NCT off the Salmon Creek Rd. this spring based on your vids. Haven't been there in almost 50 years. Maybe I'll post some pics on FB.
