Lovely video again. I totally agree with you, that Extreme was the best of the lot. They could've just fixed the interiors. Not a fan of the new front, the single side glass and the back light cluster of the all new Gurkha. That industrial look of the old Gurkha from all angles just pulls the heartstrings in a different way. Still, kudos to Force for keeping this rare animal alive and channels like yours for supporting this lovely project.
The Extreme will not be available anymore. You can go for the BS6.2 Gurkha which should be launched this year end for a price approximately 15-16 lacs ex showroom.
Extreme - undoubtedly the most robust version of the Gurkha, sadly now discontinued. The design has an old world charm about it. The openable rear window section was great. The protruding trailing arm mounts probably the only caveat. Compliments to Bhanu for owning and maintaining this legend and thank you for the video !
Comes with an undercoat from factory. What people are seeing and then misreporting is surface rust that occours on metal parts naturally. Even my Endeavour has the same kind of "Rust"
Very nice and important video old and new Gurkha🚙🙏👍 Aakhir force Gurkha ka 140 BHP ka engine Kyon discontinue kar diya Gaya is engine ko update Karke FIR continue karna chahie Kyunki yah public logon ka demand hai
wish Force motors could give that 3 inch lift option in current Gurkha. Something strange, seems like many Fiat Lovers are Gurkha lovers too :) Uno Palio Punto Linea lovers seems yo easily appreciate the design language of al Gurkhas. Anyway really best SUV ever made in India would be Xtreme, Gurkha+ Solid front axel + 3inch lift + 145 hp what more someone can want from extreme offroader as stock. So called largest SUV maker should try to follow the trails of Gurkha to see where they stand :) Awesome vlog and thanks for sharing . Was awaiting this comparison
Brilliant video! The comparison was very balanced! I own a Gurkha Xtreme as well. Here is a suggestion for you... You really need a good dashcam. The only one which fits to this window and has supercapacitor, with 4K was DDPAI Mini 5. It provides brilliant footage and hides behind the IRVM. You might want to buy couple of cheap action cams as well . This is because dashcams / mobile cams don't do justice to the terrains Gurkha tramples with ease. These expendable cams can be installed near rear / front tyres and you won't lose your sleep over it. Second suggestion is for Mr. Bhanu (don't know how to tag to him): I replaced factory fitted 1 din system along with entire housing it was hosted in with a handmade (DIY) ply wood assembly. This assembly now hosts 6 inch speakers each on left and right. Front hosts a 10 inch cheap android headunit (wouldn't care if it gets burnt because of water etc). And then, there is a place for 4-8 gang switches (installed 4). Won't say it looks good, but it functions pretty well. Maps and heads-up turns on a large screen are very useful on long journeys into unknown areas. A question, if you could / Mr Bhanu could answer: how or from where did he source new Gurkha seats for his Xtreme? Thanks for taking time in making this video . All the best.
The seats were sourced from Force Motors itself in Delhi. You can also ask the FM service station in your area or speak to the Force Service Head for your region. They are very helpful people and will certainly assist you. Thank you for all your valuable suggestions as well. 🙏🙂
Another fantastic video! Have you done anything about the lower control arm and the bash plate that are limiting the GC? I am in love with this BS 6 Gurkha but stopping short because of the GC issue :(
Thank you for your kind words. I have modified the bash plate so that it sits 1 inch higher up but still maintains a 1inch gap from the differential housing. A body lift is also being considered.
Manoj bhai...Great video..stumbled pleasantly on ur channel....Honest & good content...I am equally a Gurkha fan...Will love to own it one day...Keep posting ur content...Music to soul to see this in action...
Thanks for doing the comparison. The Extreme still grabs my attention. I wish the new Gurkha came with the same 2.2. Don't know but I somehow have the feeling FM mite consider plonking in the traveller spec engine. Fm if you are reading this, please do consider, if not the 2.2 then at least the engine from the Traveller.
mannuj ji really unique vdo in indian auto blogging, extreme is really a beast on road, both trucks r really very capable eagrly waiting for more vdos like these, 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Hello Manoj ji .. kya new Gurkha ka suspension change karwane ka fayeda hoga ya nahi.. Xtreme ka suspension achha hai.. force ko suspension yehi rehne dena chahiye tha..
Suspension mein koi changes na karein. Safety issue ho sakta hai. Extreme had Solid Front Axles and BS6 has Independent Front Suspension. Dono ke apne apne fayde aur nuksaan hai. Bs6 Gurkha sirf offroading ke liye nahi banayi gayi hai. With IFS you get better ride quality and more stability as well. Better to make change to 245 75 16 size tyres if you want to improve ground clearance.
Can you please make a video on what mods are given on the new Gurkha by the company? I am sure we all loved the monster version that was displayed in the auto expo. Is it doable and still driveable on the road?
The monster gurkha in auto expo was a one off vehicle and not road worthy. The suspension and portal axles that it had fitted probably cost the same as a new Gurkha 🙂
Did you ever feel that a bash plate which is fixed on front swing arms should be fabricated and the length can be reduced to increase the ground clearance?
The bash plate was taken off and first it was flattened. Then we made a small fold in it which also elongated it a bit. This gave it more clearance than a normal OE bash plate.
There are some rumours that force has already started working on next gen, most important they'll make changes in interior and power delivery... Not sure if it's true or not...
Lifted gaadin mein springs and shock absorbers pehle se longer hote hain to accommodate for the extra travel they need. Iss vajah se Extreme ki articulation kaafi achi hai.

Hi. Ive had it for about 9000 kms and over 8 months. There had been some issues earlier as mine was a first batch. These have been resolved now. It is by no means a faultless vehicle. My experience has been good with sales and aftersales both. I am happy with it so far. Mileage is not over 9 to 10 kmpl.
Just like Defender purists have a love-hate opinion about New Defender, so do Gurkha purists. I guess what era is gone is gone however Force can still redeem themselves by bringing a hard-core offroader like Xtreme as next version of Gurkha. Just a change from IFS to Live Axle will make people cry in joy. They can further make things divine by giving the option of lift, more ground clearance. I will sell my present Gurkha in a blink if the next iteration is +130 to 140 BHP with some where about 350 NM torque. That said, my Gurkha 2022 is still an amazing vehicle.

That could truly make it better without really sacrificing on the reliability(Gurkha probably doesn't get it only cuz that tune needs Adblue meet the norms, nothing to do with reliability I think).
