  • This Canon Lens 50mm f:1.2 for Leica mount, had a stiff focus so it need to have a CLA. It's a simple focus system, but it's good to set some small marks just to put things back again.
I use TRI-FLOW to lube this lens.
There was some sign of fungus in the second lens group, but it was not good, even if I try to take it away with with Lighter Fluid.
The owner of this lens would like me to take off the focus lock.

Thank you. Again your great work giving me a helping head start sorting out sparkling objects I see on eBay and then when they are in my hand next to a bright light I see the horrors inside.

Hi, and first of all thank you for the video. It's very helpful! I just have one question, my lense has fungus in what seems to be BEHIND the optical elements i have access to both sides on all the elements but not this one. They seem cemented together. Any ideas on how to get the remaining fungus off?
    Thanks again!

Thank you so much for making this video you just helped me fix this lens that I got for 20$ together with the camera and I pretty much gave up on it because everybody was asking exhilerating prices to fix it without a guarantee that it works afterwards... But thanks to you everything is fine now :D

mikeno62 Oh and do you know how to fix the shutter dial on the 7s if its turning loosely so that you cant set the iso/asa nor the shutter speed? Maybe a way to disassemble the 7s and try from there to fix it? And if theres no way do you know any affordable m39 mount cameras?

Cédric Mines I have a old canon 7s that I will make a film about, how to take off the top cover, that will include the ASA/ exposure wheel. I don't have any 39mm lenses yet.

Brilliant. My lens is hazy inside, so this will sort it.

Well, I have spending a lot of time getting to what I know today and I will still learn new things... but it's not always easy for me, because there is no other proffesionals to ask about so and so....
      It's a never ending story :-)

I have just cleaned my 1:1.8 Canon lens by the same way. Really good video. Just one question. What liquid usually can be applied to clean some roughness of the coating on the middle element ?? Thanks, great job !
