Tips : I had 2 brands of micro SD that are not able to write ,the PNY , and Kingston doesn't recognize at all ,good fast cheap SD is silicone power , 2-about people around who want to bother you... if in the park I sit on the grass or a bench noone will notice you 3-make sure your phone is 5g or 802.11 b/g/n wifi mostly for those drone controllers without cable 4- stay away from buildings with cellphone antennas on my building, I didn't notice because of trees but now I see them rectangular boxes side by side pointing at the highway, was weird that I took off and about the altitude of the roof of my building the drone got disconnected start beeping then it return home ,wifi interference affects even the DJI with the screen (a guy told me it went out of control and crashed into a wall ), I myself many times had my holystone go crazy when I fly around buildings so now I just do parks 5- make sure the phone is on airplane mode, then connect or use a phone other than your main phone 6- remember to turn off recording before landing because when you land you might forget and turn the drone off while is recording and your sd video will not finalized 7- don't fly farder than you can see usually 100 feet is hard to see and 250g drones get blown away by the wind sometimes ,...if that happens, lower the drone because the wind is usually on top.
--> edit: I forgot ...when you said "make sure to format your card" is true... when you transfer files from the card into a tablet or phone the android makes folders into the SD card that might affect the writing or give error

I use the exact same card. I’ve always trusted that brand and it says extreme so I figured it could read and write pretty quickly.

Yeah, that first one I'm guilty of. I've forgotten to take the camera protector off a few times in my drone flying. Now, I make sure it's the first thing I do as soon as I grab any of my drones.
My excuse is because I'm so used to flying helicopters. A camera protector is something I didn't think about.

I actually lost my beloved Mini 2 because I didn't hit the record button. I was flying i the mountains on a day with very little wind. I was going to record on the way out, but not on the way back. I knew from experience how much less battery the drone used when it wasn't recording, so I "knew" that I could let the battery go to below 50% and still bring it back with battery to spare. And then I discovered, at 44% battery, that I had never started recording. 😟

I have indeed left my gimbal cover on..... once so far! I like your idea of putting a ribbon on it.
Forgetting to click the record button brings some old memories back when standalone video recorders were the thing. After not recording, I hit the record stop a.k.a. now the record button and proceeded to record the camera swinging on its lanyard. Then lifting up to record and hitting the record button a.k.a. stop recording.... Etc. etc. I really screws up a good video recording session. 🤷♀

Could someone explain tip 4 about running into a tree instead of an airport? Really didn't get that one
If you are flying your drone at 50 feet high and your trees are higher than that, if you have a fly away, it will hit the trees and be in an area where you can find it instead of it flying off where you lose it

Thanks! Might want to try "Aloft Air Aware". You should be able to check for restricted or controlled airspace, but keep in mind any local "launch or land" type restrictions (like in a state park, or some local jurisdiction passing a law that you can't launch downtown) won't be in the app, you'll have to search (or call) your local township (or state) to verify that... Do calibration first or your drone is going to move left or right if you do it will stay in a place and hold altitude

Sounds like a good idea but did the calibration 3 different times in 2 different areas with no increased stability. If the wind was calm it was pretty decent though so maybe the reaction algorithm is just a bit slow...
