Yes, if anything I should be making those videos myself! But nowadays the honest response is to buy a new or used gaming laptop. They really aren’t much more expensive than organizing everything together on one of these
@@branden7555 Unfortunately there are no settings that would help you run any game past the late 2000s decently. I would try to get a cheap used Acer Nitro gaming computer with at least a 6th gen Intel Core i5/i7 and GTX 960M/1050 graphics
That would have been cool! But I used this laptop mostly for emulation, which it barely handled at 60fps and the real bottleneck was the CPU. I believe these are about equivalent to a brand new Celeron
@@RealElementProductions That's fair, there are good upgrade paths for the CPU, though. I upgraded mine to a 2670QM quad core i7 for about $15 and it made a world of difference with some good thermal paste. I love these laptops, they're well made and they're reliable.

Search “HP EliteBook 8460p drivers” on Google, then click the HP drivers and support link, input your operating system, find Realtek Audio driver, and install
$100 is far too much these days for one of these, indeed. I got this one in the video for $5 from a local thrift shop and they should be widely available on eBay and Amazon for $35-$55
You will need to download the drivers from HPs website, if you’re running Windows 10 it’s possible the fingerprint reader might not work, if you’re unable to find the fingerprint drivers for Windows 10, try selecting Windows 7 on HPs website
Yes, Windows 10 is fully compatible and supported on the 8470p, but will stop receiving security updates alongside all devices running Windows 10. You can install Windows 11 using unofficial methods but there will likely be compatibility and performance issues
These seems much better built than something like an HP envy. Probably because this is a business laptop.
Yes! Compared to many different Envy models these EliteBooks have better hinge designs and drastically fewer cooling and motherboard issues
Just now installed Windows 11 Pro .. not too shabby runs great
@@Digitweak24 Yeah the only drawback is worse security but you’re at risk on any computer
The express card is also lit!! you can add 3 more usb 3 ports if you buy a usb 3 express card adapter, its 54mmx34mm

could you put some of the video examples you used (such as the egpu vid) and a link to the adapter product in the description?

Do you plan on getting the external GPU add on? That would be cool to see and I know they're about $40-50.

Yes, they run cool and are among the last machines natively compatible with Windows XP, the 8460p only with its 2nd gen i5/i7
