How to use syskey (Preboot Password)

Thanks for the detailed review. It looks like a very decent small laptop for everyday use. Second hand and refurbished they are around $350 for the top spec models.
@@TestAndReview I managed to get this one for $100, you just have to look in the right places
Dell 7390 had good build quality but was prone to breaking down from my experience but the Dell 7400 is running fine. He is one of the rare laptops that have click buttons with the touch pad a huge bonus. Also you can have two SSD one extra in the WAN slot
@@2DarkHorizon Very good to know!
@@RealElementProductions Also you can dual boot it without the software by disabling one and the other when you need a different OS. I run virus prone stuff on one OS and on the other secure software only
Wait would one of these ham enough storage to get genshin impact?
@@JayTraynor-t4o Storage is upgradeable. Some of these come with no storage and you’ll have to add it yourself, it all depends who you buy it from
Could I run CapCut some what smooth with this
@@dakotamiller1541 Yes very smoothly
Have you had any problems with your fans?
@@breyts4928 No, I mostly have issues with older ThinkPads and definitely much older Dells. The ones in these are small, cheap, and spin a lot but they’re also efficient. If you mean that they’re spinning really fast all the time disable turbo boost in the BIOS. You won’t notice the difference and it fixes the thermal throttling
Does the 7400 come with a dedicated graphic card
Can this be used for graphic work?
no ethernet port - what a fail - just 3 usb ports? what a fail
@@1q3er5 As sad as it is for a premium mainstream business laptop a lot of these and newer models require the use of a USB-C dock, which hopefully you don’t need 3 USB ports while you’re out and about and Ethernet is of course tethered. Say you buy one of these Latitudes for $80-$100 and a decent USB-C dock runs for about $40, you’re still getting a better deal than a newer version that also doesn’t have these. I believe most of these docks are powered by the laptop as well so you can take out the dock when needed and you end up with more ports than any laptop
Just picked one of these up from the Goodwill online store. Will be sticking an Intel Wifi card in one of the slots since i got the full tower variety.
Can it's good for software as engineering students
@@umairmukhtar7811 Yes excellent students of engineering love
This laptop loves Linux. Full support out of the box, even firmware is provided by the repos ( debian & fedora confirmed )
you should install two ssd one in the wan. in the bios you can disable either drive that means you can dual boot without the messy software dual boot. also you can install virus prone software on one drive whilst the other is disabled. it has alot of use cases
Virus prone software?@@2DarkHorizon

Settings to help gaming, like on apex especially?
@@branden7555 Unfortunately there are no settings that would help you run any game past the late 2000s decently. I would try to get a cheap used Acer Nitro gaming computer with at least a 6th gen Intel Core i5/i7 and GTX 960M/1050 graphics
These are great machines! Bought 7 of these 2 and 1/2 years ago for my business. 16GB with 512GB. All my employees have been working very well without problems.
@@freedonx Great to hear. Dell makes a solid business desktop
I just got an optiplex 5070 mt, i’m considering if i could run an rtx 2060 super with my current 360 watt psu. If my cpu only draws 65w, gpu max draws 200 wats, and the rest of the system draws around 35 watts do you think it could handle that?
@@faultydeadwire Wouldn’t recommend. The recommended PSU is 550w for a 2060 super and also it requires an 8 pin power connector whereas I believe the PSU in your Dell has a 6 pin. I think a GTX 1660 Ti would be perfectly adequate for running most games. When you stride into RTX territory your 9th gen CPU will become the biggest bottleneck going into the future
I was going to look for a 6-8 pin adapter. I’ve heard some say on forums that a 3070 would be a perfect pair for the 9th get i7 as long as the resolution is above 1080p (I have a 4k tv) but i thought a 2060s would’ve been better. @@huroners Yep! They checked all the boxes with this one. It feels like a homage to Steve Jobs as the original versions of this design were produced while he was still alive
Is it suitable for learning cyber security?
@@theacewoman This is going to be extremely hilarious, but no unless you want to exploit your own computer. I would try to get as new of a machine as possible like an HP EliteBook 840 G7, Cybersecurity rides on anonymity and the 5th gen Intel CPU is too old and vulnerable to attacks

@@Yashehanny I’ve had both. The 840 G7 is the clear winner. Much better in almost every way, especially because it’s newer. dell latitude 7400 vs lenovo t490s which should i buy?
@@MAHFUJAHMED-lf9le Try to get a newer Lenovo T14 gen 1 or gen 2
That is true. These models are truly gems that people do not know. I stumbled on this discovery when i bought a bulk of 2015 MBP 15", 2. 2012 MBP 13", 1. 2006 Macbook. None work with no storage, ram and other issue. They all work now except the 2006. I did not pay a bunch. I paid less than $130 for 4 and after buying parts to fix still less than$250 for all 4. Originally I just want the 2015 15" with retina display but once i started playing with the 2012 I found out that they are excellent for all my use. As fast and as good with the more powerful 2015 model. The 2012 MBP is built like a tank sturdy and reliable and still look great in 2024. Excellent price performance and quality from the older Macbook not just pro but air model too. There is NO 2012 window laptop that equal to 2012 MBP. Also there is NO window laptop that can run linux and Mac os but Macbook can run window, macos and linux.
@@whatmust8146 There’s only 1 Windows laptop from the time period that even comes close and that’s the Dell XPS L702x. I had one and was going to do a review but I left it outside and naturally it got stolen :( It was a great (but expensive) machine for the time and the only downside is that the JBL sound system was known for blowing out and mine was no exception. Definitely worth checking out if you can find an affordable used one, everyone’s trying to get $150-$250+ since they’re “rare” but you might get lucky on Facebook Marketplace or OfferUp
Almost got one of these with I5-8365U, 8GB Ram and 256 NVMe for €150. Would have been a pretty well build and capable machine even in 2024 I feel. However I also came across a bit more recent Latitude 5420 with 11th Gen 1135G7 proccesor, 16GB Ram, 256 NMVe and two USB-C/TB outs for €200. It's a pretty similair device overal to this one actually, but for €50 more I eventually went with the 5420 fot it's faster and more recent proccesor. Only thing this I don't like about the 5420 it's pretty awful trackpad, which seem to be look much better on this 7400 machine. Now i personally prefer a BT mouse anyway so it's not a big issue to me
@@krammerdijksdeltaland8408 I’ll check it out! This video is definitely older as far as tech goes. I’m getting in an HP ZBook Fury which will be my power user recommendation from here on out
@@RealElementProductions Not sure about the US market but here in Europe a significant amount of companies choose to replace their rented laptops after ~3 instead of 5 years of usage to. Meaning between when this video was made 8 months ago and now a lot of 11th Gen based devices have entered the used market and can be had for about the price i've paid for mine. I wont call the I5-1135G7 i've in my Latitude 5420 the best option of power usage either (i've a Ryzen 7700X desktop for that), but it certainly has a more capable CPU and intregrated graphics than the older 8th Gen powered systems. If you can get them at about €/$200 these provide a really great value if you're looking for a cheap laptop that can still last you a long time. If you ever plan to review or consider one I would reccomend to make sure you've one with the bigger 63Wh/4Cell battery and you've a pretty decent battery life from it to.
@@krammerdijksdeltaland8408 I was gonna say there’s a big difference between the 1135-G7 and a 11500H. Workstations or gaming laptops with the latter are still in the $200-300 range, while thin and light business/home laptops are falling down to the $120-$150 range.
