tbh i am sick of this plot line:
girl is poor/a slave
girl gets rare opportunity
girl wins competition
girl becomes a bad ass and falls in love
literally i can name atleast 5 books with this story
Right? Every book is that book these days!
+LightsCameraAGz YES like Throne of Glass
+Queen Sausage this didn't really happen like this in ToG tho. she was already a badass to begin with but then some unfortunate stuff happened
+Harrison Sheely Yeah she was! You finished reading QoS?
+Aakanksha Desai I'm halfway through but I'm enjoying it sooo much so far. I'm actually warming up to Rowan which is surprising
Jessa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm so Team Jessa .How can you not love Jem he's practically perfect.I L O V E him :) Amanda
+AStitchInTime SAME
+AStitchInTime He's the best
me too ♥
I uploaded this yesterday! Thanks for tagging everyone. :)
I agree with paper towns. I really wanted to like it because I loved The fault in our stars and it's one of my favourite books of all time.
Love Jessa. I do not understand Wessa shippers. I also loved the Maze Runner books but I also love the movies, and all my friends complain because they're different but I honestly like the movie's explanation of getting out better. Well done, Sasha
Sasha that's is an excellent point you made and I agree 100%. the dystopian future, 1984 plot clone rip offs are everywhere these days and I would love to see maybe a revitalization of the cyberpunk genre or something new along those lines.
I LOVED Jem, but then I sort of ended up like Tessa because I was torn between him and Will. I was so happy with the ending though, I think it's great how it worked out because any of them missing out would be so sad, so yeah I was so happyyyy. With The Maze Runner, most people I know liked it, people at school who don't normally read were reading it (probably only because it was a movie but anyway) but maybe it's because we're younger teens (age 13-14). The most unpopular opinion I have is also to do with The Maze Runner, and it's that I actually liked Teresa all the way through, and never liked Brenda.
You remind me a bit of Karen Gillian (I forgot how to spell...) in your looks! You're really pretty and I totally agree with the Paper Towns thing
I agree with you on John Green, I also can't seem to get into his books. I have "fault" on my TBR, but still haven't read it yet, I did see the movie
Finally a booktuber who likes the maze runner series ❤️🙌🏼
I didn't like paper towns either...but I also loved maze runner (the whole series)😍😍🙌🏻
I agree with you about The Maze Runner I really liked the first two books, but I HATED the end of The Death Cure...
Never read The Maze Runner but I have seen the movies! I love the movies!
I love the Maze Runner my favourite books of all time !!.
I watched the scorch trails movie 2 days ago and it was absolutely amazing. It was totally the best film I've seen this year. Even though it was very different from the book the main parts were in the movie. Go and watch the scorch trails !!
I agree with you about the Clockwork Princess OTP ;)
I agree with a lot of your opinions that is why I started watching your video's in the first place :)
I agree with all your opinions to be honest---except for The Selection one
I'm the same about contemporaries. The only YA contemporaries I've finished are The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns and they were just okay. I just can't get through anything that's realistic fiction. Plus I love the Maze Runner too why do people hate it /:
I feel like I'm the only person that loved Paper Towns and Margo.... I think I just identify with it more than most people.
I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT EADLYN OH LORD SHES IRRITATING
I agree with your opinion on John Green. His works are so popular and my friends love them. But somehow, his works are just don't work for me
Sasha YOU have to read Amy and Rogers Epic Detour
I thought that i was the only one who wanted Tessa to end up with Jem!!
So.......The Maze Runner is worth reading? I've been in dilemma before watching the movie version because I see a lot of negative reviews about it on Goodreads ._.
Ok so I have a question have you read the Dorothy must die series and if you did do you like it ! Btw I'm addicted to your videos you make me inspired to read a lot more!😘😘😍😍😝😝
Read Mr. Penumbra's 24 hour book store!
I hated 'Obsidian' by Jennifer L Armentrout. It was slow, poorly developed in terms of the characters and the storyline. The supernatural elements inside the book were poorly described and it felt awfully amateur.
It's a shame because I loved her other book 'Wicked' - can't wait for her next book in that series.
How can you talk about John Green without reading Looking For Alaska. I love the maze runner by the way
*Shows Clockwork Princess* Me: SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP
That was me too. I was like, "aahh quick skip! skip! skip!!" Already had one book I really want(ed) to read spoiled (not by Sasha), don't want another spoiled. :(
Same. I did it almost frantically.
+JoshLemus literally me
Yep I just start reading the Clockwork Angel and she pulled that up and I was like "NopeNopeNopeNopetyNo" 😂
Literally me
I'm really not a fan of John Green. I can never seem to finish any of his books, I just get bored of them really quickly
Same
Ikr in paper towns I got bored in the second chapter right away.
Me too, and I feel like everyone else loves him
i started the alaska book like five times and never made it to the end
+39abc93 the beginning 100 pages or so go by very slow, but then: boooom amazing
So glad you're reading Harry Potter! I'm looking forward to your feedback on them once you've finished.
+FetinSmiles I uploaded a video ranking the Harry Potter books from least the most liked if anyone wants to check it out!
Jessa shippers unite!
+ThoughtsOfAWriter YES
I loved the Maze Runner, too, but I didn't like the next two books. I started The Heir and COULD NOT finish it because of the main character. JESSA, yes. Wonderful video as always! :)
+gracewithabookinherface JESSA YES
JESSA!!!!
+abookutopia isn't it unexpected that polyamory thing in there?
+gracewithabookinherface I hate how the Maze Runners ended! I agree with Sasha about the movie adaptions being better although I like the book versions of the characters more.
+gracewithabookinherface I CANT CHOOSE BETWEEN WESSA AND JESSA EVERYTIME I TRY TO THINK OF WHY ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER A REASON POPS UP WHY THEY'RE BOTH JUST EQUALLY AS AMAZING
I thought I was the only one who shipped Tessa with Jem! So great to know I'm not alone.
Omg same!
Thanks for the spoiler you awful human being.
Skittle Rainbow I don't see how what I said was a spoiler? However, if you consider it one, then I apologize.
+Skittle Rainbow It's not a spoiler, read the book and you'll see why.
I haven't even read the books, just a little bit, but I already now that Jem is my husband..
I like the Maze Runner books. I really enjoyed all of them.
I absolutely hated Looking For Alaska. I was dragging myself to finish it. Couldn't flip another page without falling asleep. I LOVED the way he wrote it and the way he described the moments but nah It took me so long to finish it.
YASS, I it was ight
Yes!!!
+Raghad .A.H Agreed. I didn't enjoy Looking For Alaska either.
+Raghad .A.H Did you get to the after part
I read the first few chapters and gave up on it... I tried but failed...
yeah im not a fan of john green either
he is alright but he is very overrated
Me while clicking this video: WHAT NOW SASHA!!!??? WHAT NOW!!!!!!??????
(After)
Me: She should have just called the video "The I Dislike John Green Video, please don't kill me tag"
Team Wessa omg! But I still love Jem SO MUCH.
I'm exactly the same :)
EXACTLY
Same here! Wessa is my OTP, but I do love Jem as well.
+Cornelia Sundberg Wessa Forever. I wish Zacharias had been Will instead of Jem.
Cornelia Sundberg thank you for the spoiler
will herondale is my cupcake and wessa is my jam but i totally respect your opinions and ship
jem is a sweetheart too
What happened to Will in the ending of the Clockwork Princess broke my heart.
yeeees the maze runner have you read the whole series ?
Not yet! Just the first book!
+abookutopia OMG THE SCORCH TRIALS WERE SO GOOD BUT I HATED THE DEATH CURE😂
+Alex Vo OMG SAMEE!! :D
A actually liked the series A LOT more than I thought I would, it could have been an excellent series if not for the terrible ending.
+camilla watson Yes! The ending was horrific, so open ended and ambiguous I mean if you're gonna use an open ended ending the least you could do is make it affective
Tbh, I still can't choose between Jessa and Wessa even though I read TID a year ago...
I LOVED the maze runner series, but I have no friends who like it!
I totally agree with last question. I read the Maze Runner and found Thomas whiny. I really didn't like the writing. Honestly I liked the synopsis on the back cover more than the actual book. But I feel the Maze Runner movie was made beautifully and the acting was on point. I really enjoyed and I'm hoping to enjoy the Scorch Trials. Especially because Kat who is playing Clary is in it!
+Audrey L The Scorch Trials is awesome (movie, not books). It's totally different from book, but that makes movie become more incredible and makes sense :)
OMG THANK YOU!!! I thought I was the only one who liked Jessa.
I didn't like Paper Towns either, and I love The Maze Runner😃
I LOVE the Maze Runner! But its most definitely an unpopular opinion in my friend group too. So I feel you, my friend.
I personally like Eadlyn, but I get why other people don't and she is a bit annoying. Also I totally don't blame you on the John Green thing, honestly I think I like him more as a person than as a writer. He's not a bad writer though
Ugh Eadyln is so whiny and annoying! So you aren't alone Sasha
1:45 It was the same for me. I was originally 100% Jessa and didn't get Wessa at all - I mean Will was so rude, "bad-boyish", all he did was hurt Tessa, which is a trope in love interests that I am just so sick of. But later on when his true nature came out I was like _hey, Will's okay actually_ but I was still Jessa all the way. Eventually I started to fall in love with Will's character and I was like 50-50 Jessa-Wessa and so yeah I was happy in the end regardless of what happened.
I LOVE honest reviews! They always start a conversation...good...or...bad...I've had people argue with me for days about a book opinion. It was...entertaining! Time to go and catch up on more of your videos!
Same for Dystopian. I had read only THG and Divergent and I couldn't read anything else AT ALL.
But I just finished reading Shatter Me and loved it. So, I guess I'm getting back into it.
Same!
am i the only one that wanted Hermione and Harry
I love The Maze Runner oh my
I love the maze runner , but so many people I know hate it and I don't know why!
WESSAAAAAA!!!!!!!
+Sophia Hemmings i know right. But i was crying so much cause Will was my favorite.
Finally! Someone else who can't get into John Green!
Thank you for never judging a book! I picked up Twilight because it was just rumored to be so bad that I wanted to see for myself what it was doing. And... I loved the whole series.
I'm a huge Jessa shipper! I'm glad to hear somebody else agrees. :)
I'm with you about John Green. I loved The Fault in our Stars. And I have only read Looking for Alaska and I hated it. I thought it was ridiculous. But glad someone else it's really on his band wagon
the maze runner books are the freeking best
oh, and scorch trials (the movie), I hated it. It felt just like percy jackson all over again. The first movie was alright. The actors are just like I imagined in the books. But I'm not going to be watching death cure when it comes out. Scorch Trials just ruined it for me
Caris Kuenen ITS MY FAVORITE SERIES IM
JESSA ALL THE WAY!!!
i really disliked paper towns too!!!!
Paper Towns was a disappointing for me. The Movie too. Jessa is perfect. I love The Heir but I didn't really like Eadlyn.
About what
+tova portmann im reading paper towns at the moment and havent seen the film either (im gonna finish the book first) but at this point ive read almost half of it and im not that impressed. like i was kinda waiting for something so great bc of the hype and the movie and everything but at the moment is seems like its going to be a dissapointment for me as well
Tfios was so much better.
+tova portmann i loved the book , but i hated the movie. both of the main characters were PLAINLY wrong.
I'm bored with Dystopians too!
Have you read the Eragon series? :)
You mean the Inheritance series?
+BlackHawkRA If she hasn't, I wish she would. It is amazing!
+BlackHawkRA Ahh yes that's what I meant. I haven't read it since like middle school but I remember it was amazing! I need to reread it soon...
Ahh the inheritance books are so so so good! The only thing I wasn't too keen on was fourth book because it was originally intended to be a trilogy but things weren't entirely wrapped up, but the gap between the third and fourth book was so noticeable in the style. I love it nevertheless and marathoned them last year!
Oh it is sooooooo good!
Thank!! I've finally found a booktuber who's a JESSA supporter ❤️💙❤️💕
John Green is overrated
+Ahmed Elgabry There's not enough comments like these. Soooo overrated. The Fault in Our Stars was shit, book and movie. And I don't even want to bother with Paper Towns. I'm a teenage girl, I'm supposed to buy into this sort of shit. Definitely not for me. I'm the sci-fi/fantasy type person.
+Hatiah Begum join the club #fantasyforlife #scifiisbae
You should read looking for alaska by John Green! I feel like you would enjoy it!
I agree
Omg same. I dont really like John Green's books. I tried reading TFIOS but I just couldnt. Sorry
HeronGrayStairs...
Orange Greek YES!! They are my OT3
I didn't like TFIOS. I like all his other books though. And I got really happy when you said you're a Nerdfighter.
Spoiler
Yes I wanted tessa to end up with Jem too
I'm so glad I've found someone who didn't like Papertowns. I've only read Looking for Alaska before but I found Q/Margo were the exact same people as Miles/Alaska. And the ending was just ~.~
JESSA. BEST.
I loved The Maze Runner (the fist book was the best), and didn't like Eadlyn in The Heir. Oh, she was irritating! I wanted to rip her out of the book. And John Green books... I don't find them entertaining, so I'm just going to watch the movies instead... I think.
Team Wessa. Definitely. One character that I personally didn't like that much (kind of) was Jem.
**ducks (lol) to avoid oncoming hate** It's not that I didn't like him, it's just that I supported Wessa so much, I couldn't stand the fact that Jem was interfering. Especially that Clockwork Prince ending! ugh.
Anyways, I didn't like Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I read Fangirl also by Rainbow, loved it (Sasha, you should read it, it's about the fangirling of Harry Potter, basically although in Fangirl, they call it "SImon Snow") and I went into Eleanor & Park, expecting to be wowed. Not what I expected. Didn't like it that much. Its tone was too gloomy and the characters weren't relatable. Fangirl, however, is amazing!
I didn't like The Fault In Our Stars. **hides in a corner**
It was too depressing...
Yeah, if you were wondering: I don't like depressing and sad books.
TFIOS was depressing and the characters weren't relatable.
Dang it somehow i saw that coming when you picked up clockwork princess..
I respect your opinion and all but
WESSA FOREVER
I agree with John Green. I just, don't feel like reading any of his book (especially The Fault in Our Stars (pls don't kill me))
JESSA!!! Finally someone agrees with me!!!
Am I the only one who did NOT enjoy the Fault in Our Stars, book or movie? The movie was straight up cringe, cliche and cheesy as hell. The book was just in the slightest better, more funnier, but still did not like it.
I completely agree with The Maze Runner! The movie is one of my favourites but I felt the books drag on. Plus, Dylan O'Brien is so 😍
Is the movie really different from the book?
Is the movie really different from the book?
No,it's quite true to it! Just slightly more fast-paced and exciting :) xox
I understand the Jessa thing, I love both Wessa and Jessa equally. 😍😘😘💕💗💓❤💚💙💙💛💚💜
SASHA YOU SHARE MY OPINION ON JEM X TESSA IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW
No one can agree with me on this. I really don't enjoy any of Jennifer l armentrouts books, obsidian? It was so teenagery it felt like a chick flick. I hated it. Tried her other books, nothing special... I just don't see the appeal that others see. The writing? Just under average haha (don't kill me)
I only like the covenant series by her. The other two series made me want to claw my eyes out
+Natalie Herondale I totally agree! I tried to read the Lux series and I couldn't do it.
**looks at name**
**walks out of the room**
**enters the room with a duck in hand**
+Natalie Herondale I don't enjoy too .I read obsidian, onyx and opal and I hated so much!
I also tried to read it and really couldn't get into it. I felt that it was really whiny and childish as well. A lot of people love it though so I was confused.
I like the dystopian/corrupt leader thing. I've been getting into it, and now I feel like dystopian is one of my favourite genres, if not my favourite genre! The Handmaid's Tale is one of my all-time favourites.
i dont like john green too.
I personally like the John green books, Looking for Alaska being my favorite but I don't mind that you don't like it, it's just an opinion, I don't see why people would get mad seeing as you decisions won't affect them at all. great video, can't wait till you update again
Team Jem!!!!!
I agree for Paper Towns. This book was not what I was expected. And I love Jem. I love love love him. BUT Wessa is my OTP. I'll forever love them. ♥
Yaaaasssss JESSA!
What's your lipstick i love it ???
btw amazing video as usual !! :)
I loved Tessa and Jem!! Will was just so blah. He got away with so much bs because of his manpain.
Don't worry Sasha! I absolutely loved the Maze Runner, but it doesn't seem very popular on book tube.
Loooove Jessa
I have the same opinion on john green. like literally.
I loved the fault in our stars, while i only kind of liked looking for alaska and papaer towns.
Still a nerdfighter.
the fault in our stars was my first John Green book too but it's definitely not the best book. An Abundance of Kathrines is the best in my opinion.
Currently reading the Heir, and Eadlyn is really annoying me. I also really like the Maze Runner!
Not exactly related to this video, but have you been able to avoid Harry Potter spoilers up to this point?
The maze runner is my favorite book series and i am so glad to see a booktuber who also enjoyed it. Are you going to do any meet ups in chicago in a month or two? Thanks
