Don't you hate it when you're trying to read whilst lying on your back but your arms keep getting tired so you have to keep changing reading positions?

I used to read so much when I was in college. There was always a book under my desk which I used to read during lectures :P (while sitting on the first seat)

I usually just Crash on my bed, curtains open for natural light in some comfy shorts and a tee.

Well, I did the same with my reading goal past year. Did read every 2-3 days a new book, and my amount of read books where 100 at the end of the year. For 2016 I have allready read 43 :) And we aren't even in May :) Thanks for this vid

My biggest problem while I'm eating and reading is that somehow I ALWAYS get food in the book and I die inside every time because what was once a beautiful, clean book is now a horrendous mess and it's all because of me :( But I loved this video! It was really lovely :)

I got a specile time when I read I read for 2 hours evrey day. But because I am just 10 I read evrey day till I finishe the book because I can't read a long book in just 2 days. Normaly it takes me about a week to finish a book

I wouldnt recommend reading in 100% comfortable position because most likely you would fall asleep. Reading in a 70% or 80% comfortable position helps you to keep focus and keeps awake. This is just personal experience and friends experiences.

Mare Mirey Soy That's completely true. I used to fall asleep while reading so I decided to change my comfy reading position into a position that made me feel comfortable, but, not comfortable at all.
If you want to stay in a 100% comfortable position u can use my method
Take a pen and a paper and write what u understood from the paragraph u reading As u moving your hand it keeps you focused and awake
Shamefully my method:
1) gets hungry, gets food
2) realizes can't focus on book
3) persuade myself to watch a few youtube videos whilst finishing food before going back to book
4) attempts reading book, but gets hungry
^ back to step 1
.... its a curse
Natalie Herondale i usually just read at least 50 pages then get hooked on to the series and read it. But that only works if i have the complete series. I read hunger games and catching fire from 12pm till 12 am haha
It may help to read the last few lines/chapter/ or a random point in a book that way it gets your attention and makes you want to read to get to that point. I have to read like the last chapter of a book before I read a book because if not, I can just get bored really easily
Natalie Herondale That's what I'm trying to do with the Maze Runner and Scorch trials, I brought them months ago and they still sit on my shelf untouched. the Hunger Games was much easier for some reason. I'd happily give up my laptop and all internet access for my HP and THG books. I need them so bad in my life like Peeta needs Katniss and like Harry needs magic.

Kayla79412 I love going to Charity Shops for Books, theyre usually around 50c. I remember 1 summer I made it my mission to buy every harry potter book with the first cover(You know with out th starts) from Charity shops, I did it and probably spend under 10euro

I usually don't eat and drink that much while reading. If the book is good, I just forget about food and drinks even when they are right next to me :D

I find it uncomfortable to eat while I'm reading. Also because food can stain the pages. I have a couple books that have food stains on them. It fustrates me.

It depends if I like the book or not because if I don't like a book I don't get as into it as I do with the books I like 😬
Ughhh I feel myself getting in a reading slump which is terrible because I'm still reading heir of Fire but I don't wanna force myself to read but if I don't read I won't finish it UGHHH THE STRUGGLE
Oh my god I just finished reading it, it's amazing! I kind of started it and then stopped for a few weeks, once you get about halfway it's much more interesting and you can't put it down, trust me :)
I tend to read either on my bed or on my couch and I always have water with me. mad I don't know if anyone else does this but I have music playing in the background while I read just to give myself something to tune out to focus while I read. It sound weird I know but it just works for me.
I only read with music on if the book has a soundtrack. Like, from their movie or series XD
I have this beanbag in my room it is the best thing ever to read on
I do the same thing with the music! I do that when I'm doing my homework as well. If I don't have music playing then j get distracted because I start singing 😂

Too bad Graze isn't available in Canada. Since finding healthy and affordable snacks is difficult for me.
If a book is 400-600 pages long I only take 7 to 10 Hours to read it ... I always thought I was a Slow reader . Guess not but maybe bcause If I start reading I don't stop .. I am totally in this world at that time then and forget everything else .. It can also sometime Happen that I read 2 books a day .
***** As soon as I start reading a book in only takes me hours . Well it can take sometimes week until I have the chance to read the next book bcause of work but good to know I am not alone (:

I'm kind of in a reading slump. When I was a little kid I was a classics dork. I would read Austen and the Bronte sisters but then as a teen I discovered the Harry Potter series and the Mortal Instruments which have comforted me many times and distracted me when life got too hard. I love fanfictions as well because I'm always finding new ways to experience characters I feel close to. Truthfully any story can sooth me, as long as it's captivating....sorry, I'm rambling. Anyway, now I'm trying to step up my reading level, and I'm reading War and Peace; it's an amazing story and I know it's my type of book (I'm a sucked for romance) but I just can't get into it. Do you have any advice? I'm really stuck. I can't seem to find any new book that holds my attention. What should I do?
leda basile That happened to me, in exactly the same way. You should read the Game Of Thrones series by George R.R Martin. It's amazing and will get you out of any reading slump.
My reading room is EVERYWHERE. I even read in the car at the back, while eating at restaurants, while my mom is shopping I read while walking, it's basically everywhere. On my first year at Hogwar- I mean school... There was Literacy Week which is so awesome. There were contest for bookmark making, short story writing, and extreme reading and others. The extreme reading thing was take a picture of you in a crazy place while reading. I didn't do it but I saw a picture of someone inside the dog cage with her dog and reading. 😂
How do you have all this time to do all this?! It takes me months to get through a book because I have literally no time, not to mention university and trying to finish my own books.

I really want to get an old-fashioned armchair, that they have at ikea right now for reading, because I always feel super lazy on my bed, like I'm not coming out of bed ever and I also heard you should only use it for sleeping purposes, because then you can sleep better but it's way to expensive for me and my little room is so crammed with furniture and my instruments, that there is only a little pathway through the middle xD ^^

I usually drink hot tea while reading, and I tend to read on my living room. I don't tend to eat while reading, but if I do, I eat grapes most of the time. Also I read up to 5 books a week but the more I've ever read it's 10 books in a week with the Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus series
i cant read and eat lol but I do enjoy all kinds of teas. I prefer to read in the worse way possible. If my mom and grandmother were still around they would kill me and my optometrist would also scorn me. I like for it to be dark so I prefer night time reading. I use a very gentle lamp or the flashlight on my phone aimed toward the ceiling so it kind of envelopes the whole room and not shining directly on me or my book. However my reading time really conflicts with my crocheting time!! I love background noise. So I usually use cafe sounds or rain sounds on youtube or listen to members of booktube in the background. Sometimes I leave the TV on or the radio. Classical, jazz, and instrumentals are nice to play while reading to! Sometimes I listen to NPR but I usually use NPR for sleeping only.
Hey Sasha, I've noticed you always seem to decently like most of the books you read (which is fantastic for you if that is the case!) so I was wondering if you mostly only talk about the books you like on your channel, or if you just tend to be a easily pleas able reader in general. I hope that makes sense. I say this because while I love learning about positive things people have to say about books, it's also interesting to see the other side of the spectrum. I know you did a book sacrifice tag a while back, which I also enjoyed. Sorry for this long rambly comment. Thanks!

I can't drink while reading, i dont know why but I always get so into the book and completely forget about my tea, then it gets cold

Depending on the book 300-400 pgs/ a book I like,I can do that too (and have done it).
I go to work and school. I read before bed and the lull points during the day (spare few minutes throughout the day - it really adds up)

My goal is to have a room in my house completely filled with shelves of books and ordered like an old fashioned library. I'd love to have an old fashioned victorian house too :') I don't really have a reading schedule yet but once I figure out everything going on in my life then I will! ;)

I really should learn to eat and drink while reading. I always go extreme when reading. I can read a book in a day where I start when I wake up in the morning around 9 am and just continue until I'm done with a few toilet-breaks, and I always forget to drink and eat, so when I've finished the book in the evening, I'm so dizzy and unfocused. Not really a good way to read a book, and I never learn from it, whoopsie. ._.
I just got out of a reading slump by putting every book away, watching netflix and youtube but the moment I wanted to read again I picked up a favorite read, Jane Austen, followed by a quick read, and then one of my TBR books, on my day off I was so excited to read again I finished two books, and ordered some new that I have been wanting for a while. I am so glad my reading slump has ended and thank you for your book suggestions!

The feels! Hahaha. I read with my glasses on and ofcourse with food by my side. I also like laying at the bed or just doing stupid positions i the sofa. Reading's just amazing af.

- gets dressed into pyjamas while having the tv on as a background noise
- makes comfortable in bed, can't stop watching tv
- looks at the clock
- SHIT I ONLY HAVE 10 MINUTES TO READ BEFORE I'M GOING TO SLEEP
- begins reading
- get's distracted by phone or iPad
- barely reads
- regrets it immediately and still the next morning
- repeats it all over again
also, your reading spot is the best, goals: have a reading room (and a walk in closet) in my future home

I read The wrath and the dawn, and I LOVE it!!! I love Shazard's personality so much. She's probably one of my favorite character. Actually she's my second. Second, only to Aaron Warner
You could probably read Animal Farm, Peter & Wendy, and The Time Machine (H.G. Wells) all in one day. In compilations/"Complete Works of" books, each story (even short story) counts as one. I don't even think I am cheating when I consider War and Peace as fifteen books instead of one, as it is divided into fifteen, and presumably was originally published that way.
My reading problems
1. I ALWAYS lose my bookmark. (They seem to disappear)
2. My brother always tries to lose my page
3. I can never stay in a spot for reading so I waste my time getting up and moving around
4. UA-cam keeps distracting me.
I got really hungry reading the best book EVER... Hungry by H.A Swain! Litterally, if you haven't read it, you must go buy it now! *says in dreamy voice* Basil. *swoons*
