I’m pretty sure multiple times throughout the series Ulrich was given flack for his bad grades. Hell there was an episode where there was academic reviews or whatever where the teaching staff and the student representative (Odd) had a meeting where they discussed the students performances and whether they should be moved or not and Ulrich was almost moved or possibly kicked out if it wasn’t for some Code Lyoko shenanigans that helped him save his position in the school. There’s also the occurrences with his dad or well his relationship with his dad in general which is often times described as argumentative and stressful as his dad would yell at him about his grades. Also there was that stuff with Yumi that one episode where her and her family would’ve possibly had to move back to Japan because her father was fired from his job. There even was some parents arguing kind of moments in that episode. Needless to say, Code Lyoko did show that student or adolescent struggle that kids in the real world face.
And Jeremy also had problems with the fact he had good grades, There may have been more times than this one but I recall the school wanting him to take a test and if he passed it he would have been transfered to another school for gifted or something, and the episode kind of centered around him wanting to fail that test cause he did not want to go

Man, I'm way late to this, but you're absolutely right. Honestly that's one of my biggest problems with this video - thanks for calling it out - as you've maintained Code Lyoko is a perfect show and I can't disagree

Ok, that was half-jokingly said, but Code Lyoko really is a big part of my life - quite visible in my username, which I use literally everywhere. I'm especially fond on creating stories about it, and also combining other shows/franchises with it (with almost every new show I watch I wonder if and how they could be connected/combined with Code Lyoko... and often when series is important to me the possible connection to Code Lyoko plays BIG part in it, is why I care so much about developing even the non-Lyoko part of created multiverse) and generally exploring different concepts and story ideas about Code Lyoko. My only problem is I don't have much finished series... but I have quite a lot developed Lyoko-universes, there is 8 major ones (5 crossover ones (including 3 with MLP ("Code Equestria" aka Lyokoverse, "Our Little Sunset" aka Belpoisverse, the third... is actually still in conceptual phase - and all 3 are completely different from each other despite being crossovers of 2 the same universes), 1 with Miracoluos ("Code Miraculous"), with Pokemon ("Aelita2")), 3 "pure" ones ("Code Lyoko Return of Xana", "Messangers of the future" universe, "Aelita princess of Lyoko"(aka Code Lyoko fantasy))), and a bit of smaller projects, but they sometimes end up being included in other (like the alternate ending of season 3 which was initially incomplete as just two small oneshots one from Odd's and second from Sam's perspective but then it was continued with actual new version of the final fight for Lyoko aaaand... I decide it would be perfect to make it actual beginning of "Messangers of the future" AU - which needed to be sliiiightly retconed for that, but this retcon was almost cosmetic... and fun fact that universe started from... the prologue I once wrote for forum game "Murder and Medium"... which didn't actually begin, but I liked the prologue enough to start further developing on it...) and the bigger projects not so rarely also have many small stories added to them. Sometimes it's in crossover universe, but the small story itself takes place before any crossover thing even happen. As it is with a few (actually they kinda create their own miniseries) about Waldo's and Anthea past which are part of Belpoisverse cannon but they are set long before any crossover parts come into play (as these crossover parts, or actually one part is creature from another dimension (more precisely: baby unicorn named Sunset... who become big part of Aelita's and Jeremie's life... become... Their Little Sunset;)) mysteriously pop up in world of Lyoko Warriors about a year after defeating Xana) - which actually I would say os one of my 3 main universes (and it's main story has plans for at least two big sequels already...) the other two are Lyokoverse and my very first and perhaps most lore-heavy story: Code Lyoko Return of Xana. And despite name being seemingly generic it's definitely so much more than just a generic story...

I wish they would bring this show back. For REAL, none of that live-action crap. And I know one way they can promote it! They can do a VR game of Lyoko! Honestly, even at 25, I think doing a VR game of Lyoko with the monsters and towers would be AWESOME.
There's Project Eradication and it's gonna be worth it, they're still pumping content and I can guarantee you you'll be hyped.
Oh, yes... I would definitely play that game... no matter of what console would it be... I would buy that console/system/whatever just for that game alone...
X.A.N.A. is and has always been the BEST villian in Cartoon History and CL first aired in 2001, that makes "him" older than even Slade from Teen Titans.
Slade/Deathstroke the character predates the show entirely but otherwise yeah you’re right.
miracilous ladybug, totally spies, Loli rock are some shows that are fairly popular, and they are French shows, some were French-Canadian but yeah
And this one is not that famous or popular, but my personal favourite, Wakfu
Wakfu is the shit, if you haven't wathed it yet I strongly recommend.

I can relate on thinking it was fake for years, mainly because I forgot the name
Btw, all the episodes are free in youtube. I don't know if you have watched the whole series (the 94 or 95 episodes), but if you don't you need to know that there actually is a build up storyline along the series (since season 2). This plot explores the truth behind Aelita's past and the creation of Lyoko and the super computer. Is a very interesting storyline that makes the show even better. And brings a special maturity. I swear, you can't miss it!
If u DON'T wanna watch all the episodes (including the ones with an episodic format with 0 relevance to the develop of the series' storyline), I can make you a list of the important episodes.
Apart from that, I wanna say some of the good points of the show you haven't mentioned in the video:
1. The supporting-role characters. The dumb girl in the school (Sissi), the teachers, the parents, the classmates, the famous band... Their appearance always bring something special. Mostly, some reality. Every supporting character has it's own personality, conflict and moment to shine in the show. In code lyoko the principal characters are not the only good-written ones! And their interactions give the show a singular complexity and make it feel more real.
2. The mature topics. They might go unnoticed, but there are some mature moments and topics in Code Lyoko! For example, the complexity of Yumi and Ulrich's relationship, Ulrich's hard relationship with his parents, Aelita's loneliness, the hate-love relationship between Yumi and his little brother, the fear of being in a constant danger, the heavy responsability of save the world and its impact on the kids, the betrayal... One of the best episodes of the series is the last one from season 3, because shows some of this topics.
3. Season 4! There are a lot of advances and new things! The Skid, the digital sea, the Replikas, the Lyoko Warriors being virtualized into the real world, the EPIC battles against William, the end of the show... You can't miss it!!!

Also season 4 was IMO the one with most unused potential actually. (Also 30 episodes and we don't even get Mountain Replika? It shouldn't be like this!)
As for the non-relevant episodes... well I once analyzed the entire list and come to conclusion that... thare are only about 24 skippable episodes. All others are either important to the plot, or worldbuilding/lore (at least in debatable degree). My list (separated into categories) looks like this:
Important to the plot: 0(part 1 and 2), 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 37, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 57, 58, 61, 64, 65, 66, 70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 78, 79, 82, 87, 90, 92, 93, 94, 95 - 34 out of 97 episodes
Important lore/worldbuilding details: 2, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19, 34, 36, 38, 43, 47, 63, 81(some of them may seem not so much mandatory or including just some seemingly random trivia but every one of them is actually important in one way or another) - 15 out of 97 episodes
Arguably lore/worldbuilding-wise important: 23 (Samantha is great character anyway AND she reappears in one of the most important episodes(season 3rd finale), so better to not skip her introduction), 24, 33(it's threads kinda are continued later in episodes 68, 72, 89 - of which second is definitely important - so...), 39, 44, 46, 55, 56, 59, 62, 68, 88, 91 - 13 out of 97 episodes
Just great, worth watching episodes: 8, 9, 35, 49, 60, 74, 77, 83, 84, 85, 89 - 11 out of 97 episodes
Together 73 out of 97 episodes shouldn't be skipped.

Just finished this gem less than a week ago I already miss it
I was just thinking about how this show would be if it was brought back now❣ As a young kid I was quite obsessed with this show. I mean, me and my friends use to play these characters in school (during breaks) to the point where other students started to wonder what in the world were we doing 😂❤
The series still holds up well. Season 1 CGI can look a bit yikes but the detailed 2D animation is wonderful. Almost anime-ish. Such a fun story and characters that all ages can enjoy.
I never forgot about this show... ❤️

Well there was at least one other show that was exported from France. And that is "Time Jam Velerian et Laureline" which was great too. But nothing can actually beats Code Lyoko.
Also You forgot that Aelita is not only a princess. She's a nerdy princess ^^ and one of most altruistic persons in the world. Which make her incredibly lovable character. And Jeremie is a great name... I don't know why You don't like it... (also both Jeremie and Aelite wer emy favorite characters BTW).
Also there was quite a bit about their grades, Ulrich was so many times scolded for that and he really have a hard time about that. Odd just didn't care, and so were his parents.
What they need is a multiplayer game for this show or to at least bring it back no reboot, but just something related to this no evolution.

They did have a MMO planned but it was canceled. A good call honestly after what they did to Aelita’s design. Also there was a continuation predating Evolution called Code Lyoko Chronicles.
Code lyoko is the Earthbound/Mother trilogy of the shows I love code lyoko such I great show

Hi! I don't know if you heard about it, but there's an amazing Code Lyoko fan-made game called IFSCL. In there, you are Jeremy and you control the super computer when XANA attacks. It is free and you can download it online. I seriously recommend you to play the game. It might be a bit difficult at the beggining, but you'll enjoy it a lot! It really worths.

I haven't watched the whole video, but the first few sentences were literally my inner thoughts...
This show gives me serious Digimon Tamers vibes. Digimon Tamers has a kid main cast (Other then the Digimon) and deals with stuff a real kid would feel trying to fight giant monsters. It's a fantastic show and even it's dub isn't that bad. Like i feel like a lot of people would really like it, but everyone passes it up because it's a "Pokemon" Ripoff. Honestly, it's a shame really good shows go under everyone's radar.
Which is weird considering the Digimon franchise *predates* Pokémon.
Now I’m thinking of some crossover between Digimon Tamers & Code Lyoko where XANA merges with some remnants of the D-Reaper, prompting the Lyoko Warriors to join forces with the Digimon Tamers.
I always knew it wasn't fake. I never forgot the name. One of my regrets regarding this show is that the books aren't televized.
