Donut mod is probably going to be the only remake this game sees, I think there are a lot of legal issues of making an official remaster/remake for commercial use. Not to mention that Fox needs to approve it and willing to fund it if not a Kickstarter. I love SHAR, it's one of my top 5 favorite games of all time and a proper official remake would be amazing but I think they'd try to screw us over with loot boxes and microtransactions judging by the Simpsons tapped out and other games that they've released in the last years.
@@mellow9042 I kinda doubt this is getting remake. Game being made today requires big resources, in other words it has to be big bet. What a Humble Guy. He is able to appreciate people being fans of his amazing work, and goes out to applaud people who mod the game. It takes a lot for a game creator to appreciate mod developers making mods on their creations, since many game developers are likely to see mods as an insult to their work since it may be seen as changing the original game in a way since it wasn't good enough. Good for him for being supportive of the community.
*YES! I grew up with this game too. Apart from it being the 1st time I was given a time limit in my life and made me quit in fear back then when I was young, I eventually managed to get past Flanders' missing items and finished the game though, and I LOVED THIS GAME! ^-^*
3:50 this memory constraint might’ve been seen as a hindrance but I feel it was the requisite conditions for creativity to thrive. They had an obstacle to overcome and the game benefited from them being forced to face the issue head on. Now there aren’t really any limits and the issues come with too many options and creativity goes into the wrong aspects of the design while the core is ignored.
Super awesome to hear from someone behind the scenes. Many games have credits with lengths to rival big-budget movies and it's nice to see some recognition for everyone that makes these potentially lifechanging experiences happen. im in exactly the same boat. i had and still have a fucking awful home life, and this was one of the games precious to me that i always escaped to. i was utterly terrified of the wasp fucks. i loved just driving around and destroying everything i saw, and GOD i loved car-surfing. i was never any good at the actual game and i definitely never finished it. i should do that.
Dang, that Troy McClure intro really blew me away. It took me a while to realize that it wasn't his actual voice actor doing the intro lmao
This is probably still not the worst paying gig Troy Maclore has done.
Can we all just admit that opening was legendary?
That intro was extremely impressive, I gotta give them a look.
That intro with Troy Mcclure having him talk about your show was very impressive! Awesome work.
Holy hell, I didn't know you raised Phil Hartman back from the dead.
I was actually surprised at his voice.
Dad we did something very bad!
did you wreck the car?
no!
did you raise the dead?
YES!
but the cars ok?
18:55 Troy McClure: And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: HARDCORE NUDITY!
Got a ad for a game with naked woman😂😂😂
This would have been the perfect ending! *applauds*
holy shit that phil hartman impression is spot on, not to mention the animation
That is a spot on Troy McClure impression!
Isnt it wonderful how the creators of the Simpsons never tried to replace phil Hartman but this dumb shit UA-camr and voice actor went against the shows creators wishes and got a sound alike?
@@Daftanemone Grow up you fucking pillock
@@Daftanemone someone's tilted that they can't do an impression like that.
@@Daftanemone I agree. However I miss Troy and Lionel. 2 of the very best Simpsons characters
I for a fact love video games with huge open world's to explore. Always felt more personal than any mission select screen.
This video was very interesting, the developer commentary was insightful. The last message from him was so nice. The animation at the very beginning was very cool too! Fantastic video!
Also congrats on making it to the shorty awards!
Wow, that's very nice of some of the developers to comment on this. It's always interesting to hear their perspective, which is all too rare. Thanks for this and thanks to them for their work. I made what I feel is a fairly simple game, Deluxe Pacman 1 & 2 and I have recently heard from someone who said "they grew up on it" and thanked me and let me say that not only surprised the hell out of me, but made me feel good that I was able to bring some good times like that to someone.
Do one on Tony Hawk, those games have a ridiculous amount of things outside of the barriers, like entire areas that are solid and accessible within gameplay using glitches out of bounds.
OlympianRed like THUG2 in the training level, being able to glitch into New Jersey, which was a level from THUG1
Holy Shyser... @@CraftyApe
semi related but I remember when the games had online support, I encountered tons of people who found out glitches in the game, and I am so pissed I can't do/remember some of them. Through some incredibly specific shit you could get into the gift shop in vancouver, or like float through NY like you're grabbing a ledge
the only one I can still do is a corner glitch in NY by the pier
@@gamerguy425 I used to be able to get underneath one of the pools in the Vancouver level. Never figured the gift shop one out.
@@dln.sweeney HOLY FUCK I THINK YOU TRIGGERED MEMORIES that have been dormant for 15 years.
I'm sure there's someone on THUG pro who knows every single glitch on every map.
I always love hearing developers talk about their games, but something I rarely hear is a developer actively shouting out the modders for their game; that doesn't happen often, but it makes me so happy when it does.
Thank you, Cary for spending so much time to make a video game that will live on in our minds and hearts forever.
As a budding game developer, watching your show has been very interesting, getting to see all the weird tricks and left behind assets from these great games. Keep it up man!
I remember when your channel barely started and you were at 10,000 or so subscribers ^_^ you've come a long way man. Proud of you
I was here since 15000. sad to see the first video of his that ive seen is gone now.
This is the BEST episode of Boundary Break. Love it so much!
I love this game so much. Literally one of the best aspects of my childhood.
The fact that you're the gaming channel of the year makes me really happy, you're not the biggest creator out there but your content is seriously the best when it comes to informative videos about video games, congrats for the award!
I am more than amazed you managed to get Phil Hartman on show, he is hard to book these days being dead and all.

Hit & Run was a truly amazing game for its time, it was way past any other game in terms of complexity and map size. Remember there wasn't any UA-cam tutorials back then xD
Its Freddie Yeah there was! I remember watching Hit and run lets plays, maybe not as good quality as today but definitely people posted! :)
@@user-ul5gi9yw9t Right but no one got paid at the best you would be sponsored by machinima and you got 1p per sub, so the vids were always close to useless because no time or editing would be put into them, and no not at the start there was nothing, ive gamed hardcore throughout the past 15 years.
Its Freddie Machinina wasn’t *that bad* if you became a partner they paid quite decent at the time.
When they released MachininaRespawn was when they really took advantage as people would simply submit videos to upload for “exposure” I had 2 S&D Black Ops commentaries posted onto Respawn, got around 150k views on both within a month and got absolutely no return apart from 200 subs. So right tho, times have changed massively. I remember when Respawn had a few million subscribers and was literally the only place to find new content for a long long time
Edit: Respawn and Machinima did however pioneer the platform as we know it today, commentaries that weren’t even live recorded were actually a thing for a while 😳
@@user-ul5gi9yw9t No you didn't you got fuckall, my friend irl was a professional montage maker at the time, got paid to make sniping clips way before any clans like Faze even existed. I will make chalkboard gags in my video description.
this entire series is the COOLEST thing i’ve ever watched, and honestly the only thing i’ve been engulfed with on youtube for a long time. i look forward to the next episodes! binging them all now lol 👀
You know somebody is an OG gamer when they refer to an NES game as just a "Nintendo game". Haha. Thanks to Cary as well as the animator/voice talent for making this video even better than it would have been otherwise!
thank you for remembering my film
*throws football at groin*
You should have won
3:03 If I remember rightly, Lisa is there because that’s where the interior of the school is, but it doesn’t get loaded into the game until you walk up to the exterior door - if you drive/walk up to the door then quickly pan the camera over to that area, you should be able to see that Lisa is now standing in the school hallway
Wow! Well done finding a toy McClure voice actor! It's like he's back!
Man, that Phil Hartman impression is spot on.
This was one of my childhood games! Took me a long time to finish but it was so fulfilling to finish the game.
I’ve been anticipating this video more than any of your other boundary breaks, and I’m not disappointed in the slightest.
i'm rewatching boundary break videos and forgot how this intro is just so cool! props to everyone and good job for the video man.
You continue to outdo yourself. Incredible video!!
m8, i have been watching your channel since the first episode of boundarybreak, and i want to say thank you for your work and congratulation!
This was really amazing to watch. It's always cool to hear from members of the development team themselves. That intro was fantastic as well.
Congrats on getting nominated. I hope you win! Your content is something I look forward to watching every time I see you drop a video
I love this series. You could do any old thing and put a voice over it but you get unique animations, voice acting, even developers of the game you're showing off. Keep up the good work, man!
This treasured video belongs in humanity's time capsule along with our greatest achievements and developments.
That Lisa level was my favorite back in the day. Now they’d say it has “aesthetic”. It was TRULY ahead of its time.
Congrats on scoring the nomination for the award!
Wow this is the first video I have seen of yours an of this genre I never thought to even look for a video like this. It's refreshing to see original quality content. Great work
What a Humble Guy.
This is so great!
A gta san andreas episode would be everything😍
Troy! Good lord, that's a blast. Great work Brock.

There is just such charm about these older games that newer ones can’t even come close to.
AMAZING INTRO, this was a great episode and loved all the references to this classic show
That's an absolutely awesome Troy McClure impression!
*YES! I grew up with this game too. Apart from it being the 1st time I was given a time limit in my life and made me quit in fear back then when I was young, I eventually managed to get past Flanders' missing items and finished the game though, and I LOVED THIS GAME! ^-^*
The game that helped me get over timed missions anxiety.
Many great memories from this one.
Never doubted Brock's Phil Hartman impression.
Holy crap- that Phil Hartman impression is so damn on point.
Like - insane.
Absolutely loved this game =D I would adore a Steam- Remastered version of this
Wow. Great callback to Troy McCloor

Super awesome to hear from someone behind the scenes. Many games have credits with lengths to rival big-budget movies and it's nice to see some recognition for everyone that makes these potentially lifechanging experiences happen.
Hit & Run isn't quite that for me but it's definitely an amazing Simpsons game (except the Halloween level, fuck THAT shit :p) and a welcome part of my collection :D
This video popped up in my UA-cam suggestions after looking up this game's mods and emulation. Awesome video and I'm a Big fan of this game.
