      Cheers for this, I been tryin to find out about "how to make fragranced candles" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Peyaniel Psychological Predominance - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good one off guide for discovering the trick to be a candle maker for profit minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.

    I take copious notes from your videos. Learning so much. Powdered sugar cuts down on acceleration. Palm kernel flakes can cause acceleration. Sodium lactate is always a good idea. 😉

    Love the natural look of these bars! Stamping tip: if you lay a sheet of plastic wrap over the bars before stamping, you’ll get a nice sharp line, your stamp won’t stick to the soap and it will stay clean. Win/win/win!

    This is a fantastic video! I’ve been watching a lot of your more intricate swirl videos lately but I’m still pretty new to soaping and I’m so glad I pulled this video up. Your video production is phenomenal, I know it must take a lot of time and energy - I really appreciate all you put into this. I had to slow you down on this one though bc it’s so packed with excellent information! I love how you mix colorants with your pallet knife, you inspired me to buy one. Thank you! And as for your soap balls, I think they would package nicely in a small cotton mesh drawstring bag, like a mini fruit bag. You could add a small hang tag pretty easily. That would be very cute!

    This video actually help me quite a bit. I made my first cp soap today. I was concerned about gel but I realize I really don't need to be because I soaped at room temperature and I have them an individual molds. I'm very grateful for to know that. I'm only doing a very simple soap of coconut oil only with no fragrance and no colorant. I'm glad that I don't need to worry about gel right now.

    You are a masterful soaper and comfortable teacher. I’m still in my research and learning phase before beginning my soap journey; your teaching “personality”, which is soothing, works well for me as I learn better is a comfortable atmosphere. (I also really like I Dream In Soap.) What you said about the beauty of natural colors really hit home for me. Yes! You are so right. I, too, was a graphic designer, so color and form are important me. This honey soap is so simple yet so beautiful. Given a choice between this soap and something more boom, pop and sizzle, I’d go with the honey. As to your question: keep the soap balls. I’m sure your aunt appreciates them.

    I coat the balls with powdered chocolate or dried milk. Then I make a batch of five layer blue soap starting with the darkest color going up to the lightest blue and insert the balls. That makes it a moon ball soap with moon flowers sent. I did this soap for the 50 year anniversary of the moon landing. They really sold quite well.

    For wrapping some soaps, I take paper shopping bags and cut them down one side to get a large flat sheet. I crumple it up tons and tons going all directions until it's 100% crumpled everywhere. I will kinda rub it against itself as if you were washing a stain out of a shirt by hand in the sink (only I'm not putting the paper in water- just using that motion.) Then I flatten it back out by hand on a counter. At this point, it feels really soft, almost like fabric. The crumples are small and make the paper look like leather. Then I fold it over however many times I can to get the size I want and I'll cut through all the layers to get strips. Then wrap a strip around my soap and use a glue stick to stick the ends together. Then I'll wrap a string, ribbon, or raffia around that and tie it. It's not practical for very large batches but it looks really cute for gifts and for a home crafter.
    Sometimes packages in the mail come with long strips of brown paper (that's the same stuff paper bags are). I save that and use it. I wish I could post a picture. It looks like soft leather.

    I actually currently have a honey FO on order from NS. My local craft store just got some little beehive molds in, and I was planning another milk and honey soap. I hadn’t planned on using beeswax yet. I’d love to know how you like it. I’ve heard it can weigh down lather and can be difficult to soap with since it has such a high melting point (both of which can be worked around). You made it look easy to work with though, and I know many soapers use it in almost every batch. 🤩
    Packaging ideas: coffee filters, custom boxes made from card stock, organza or muslin bags. I’m sure you’ve thought about those though.
    Soap balls: if you have extra and just don’t feel right selling them, you could donate them. I love donating soaps to local organizations like our local women’s shelter, hospice, schools, and homeless shelter. However, there’s nothing wrong with selling them either. Or maybe you could do a complementary soap ball with a purchase while supplies last.
    Thanks for sharing your experience with these beautiful soaps. The ingredients sound really wonderful, and they look so pretty. 😍

      I use it when the fragrance is known to accelerate or when I need lots of time to work. Just make sure you dissolve it completely before you add the lye to the water.

    Great looking soaps! For the 9 bar cube mold I use the clear cube boxes from Bramble Berry & dress them up with some paper shred in the bottom of the box and some ribbon around the outside of the box. Thanks for the wonderful video 😊

    I saw a big mason jar full of soap balls at Winners! It made me laugh cause I wouldn’t think of selling my leftover soap scraps either. But it had a cute rustic look to it so maybe I will!

    I too love the natural colors on these! Plus natural additives like honey and calendula make it even more appealing for me as a potential client.. not sure about the science behind that tho 😅
    And I absolutely can't thank you enough for sharing such important and useful tips & hacks about soapmaking!! You are so generous and giving, it's almost uncanny in this day and age:) and I believe that such kindness should be and will be rewarded - you deserve it :) Be blessed!

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  4 роки тому +1

      Just realize that honey causes it to heat up. It doesn't matter much in a cavity mold, but in a loaf mold it can volcano. I would loosely cover it to avoid a cracked top, because of the difference in temperature of the inside and outside. Just keep an eye on it.

    Blossom and Birch did a tricks and tips of long time soapers and as a fairly new soaper this is exciting. I loved also watching all your special things,powder sugar in Lye I've not heard of, I knew soapers used A1 sugar, Bee pollen I've never heard of, bees wax in soap, interesting, I'm in Australia so I hope in the future we get the raw honey fragrance I love love eating honey so showering in it pure bliss. Beautiful soaps, I've learned so much being a member of your facebook group. Do you put a spray of alcohol on your stamp to make it so sharp? They are beautifully clear

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much, Tanya! I am so glad you are learning. I didn't put alcohol on the stamp or soap. I think the wax in the soap helped.

    I am just about to get started making soaps for the first time and I was so excited to see this because this was just what I was looking for .
