I have the first generation Larq Pure Vis, and it still works great! Some people had issues with the UV light failing due to the positioning of the bulb. Larq corrected the issue by making a new top, which had better positioning of the UV bulb. I'm sure the Pure Vis 2 UV light will have a very low failure rate.
Heads up, the Brumate lids commonly stop working, which explains the straw now completely lowering. If you reach out to their support they’ll send you a replacement lid in case you want to continue using that bottle at some point!
Thanks for sharing that! Looks like it’s an issue with the Brumate lids. I’ll have to contact their support team. Appreciate the info and you watching! 🤙🏼
I have the version one with their first UV lid, it lasted for years and only died after I accidentally left it in the car on a roadtrip to the Grand Canyon in the summer when my family and I hiked down the canyon and the heat fried the electronics. I bought another lid since I’d go to register it to be covered by warranty when I’d bought it (you can purchase lids separately) and kept using the body. The body is 6 years old now, no issues other than minor damage to the color from being dropped on concrete. And my newer white one I bought a few years ago is going strong too.
Boujee indeed!! Could have used this last weekend while hiking at Lassen NP. Is it dishwasher safe with all that tech? Cause I’m like you…I’m lazy to wash my water bottles by hand and just throw them in the dishwasher with the disinfect setting. Now only if I can strap my bottle to my bmx. Mahalo for sharing. 🤙🤙🤙
I have the LARQ pitcher I switched from Brita last December got the pitcher on a boxing day sale! Its the best thing compared to Brita. I want to purchase the bottle as well. Been watching reviews before I do. The current bottle I have is a Bottleworx one its a Canadian local made one have had them for years I get them at a yearly winter agricultural fair they do in November they come there as a vendor I always thought it was the best but it really is very average. I now been wanting this LARQ one since I learned about them and got the pitcher. I just watched another review and she said one of the cons is the filter inside wobbles around and hits the wall of the bottle she finds annoying and also said it kinda hard to drink from straw you need to put the effort in it. How is that for you? Also does it keep water as cold as they claim for 24 hours? Or is the bottle she has a dud she said it only kept the ice in it for 2 hours and it then went to like room temperature. I saw another video that showed it kept ice for a while also their promo videos show that but off course its promo so that can be edited to show.
I never noticed the filter hitting the inside until just yesterday when I had to empty it before I went through TSA at the airport. With nothing in the bottle, then yeah, the filter will hit the inside if you’re moving the bottle around. But honestly when the bottle is full, I’ve never noticed it. I’ve found the bottle keeps ice for a good long time. Ice has definitely lasted 24 hours but it all depends on how much you use right? Fill the bottle with ice and yeah, that sucker will last. But if you only use maybe 1/4 filled with ice, it won’t be there the next day. One thing I also noticed was that you can’t really fill it completely with ice because you need room for the filter straw. I fill it maybe half or 3/4 then put in water so there’s room for the filter to fit. I also don’t notice it being hard to drink from with the straw. I think it’s a really good bottle and I’m happy with my purchase. I also bought the big water pitcher too which I think is fantastic as well!! Hope this helps and thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
Great question! You are pulling up water through the filter and then up the straw so there is a little resistance for sure. But I never noticed it actually. I never really thought about it until now and I can’t say it is difficult to drink from the straw. Great question though! I think for the filtration I get, I’m totally fine with the little resistance I do get. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
What would you recommend the 1L or 680ml version in terms of every day use, fitting in vehicle cup holders, bags, exercise equipment and just carrying it around?
I went with the bigger one just because I wanted it to hold more water throughout the day. I did have to buy this thing that goes into my cup holder in my car to better hold it. amzn.to/40UqE3w The bottle fits fine in my backpack and it is a great bottle for trips, especially if the water in that area doesn't taste so great. For me, the bigger one was better. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
I've had the first purvis and was thinking of preordering this but I dislike the filter cuz I don't think it's necessary and having to buy it every couple months sucks. Will it work without the filter?
Yup. I’ve had for about 3 weeks now. I like it. The only thing i disliked about it was the filter straw because it was too big and i enjoy gulping my water instead of sipping it. Once i removed the filter straw things got better
I bought the bigger bottle and it does not fit in my cup holder in my car. I had to get one of those things that you can put into your cup holder and then twist to lock it in. Then the bottle fits fine. amzn.to/3AG7O5v This is the one I ended up getting.
I do not know that answer. So sorry about that! It says it eliminates 99.9999 of bio contaminates like e-coli and salmonella but I don't know about fluoride. Appreciate you watching though!
I got the bigger 34 oz bottle just because I wanted something to hold more water. They have a 23 oz version too that would probably be easier to take around with you. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
@@cruisinginthe808 oh yeah you guys have a other measure. The one you got is the 1 litter. Does it get too heavy? Its a hard decision tho as the price difference aint big .
I donʻt think it is recommended for hot water. I could have sworn I saw something somewhere about it but in looking at the website and the product page, I canʻt seem to find it. Because of the electronics in the cap, I would not recommend using it for hot water myself. Not sure how the filter would do in hot water either. Sorry, I wish I could give you a more exact answer!
@@cruisinginthe808 thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I’ve looked on the website and google myself but couldn’t find anything about it either. It does make sense what you’re saying. I guess it’s only the older version which is suitable for hot drinks when you choose the insulated option.
Did you want the cap to be more flat? I'm ok with how it looks and operates but I can see that hump bothering some people. The filtering works really good though. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻

Thanks for sharing that! Good to know that LARQ listens to their customers and made that change! I’m loving mine so far! Thanks man! 🤙🏼

the bottle is dishwasher safe, the top piece with the uv led in it isn‘t.
The bottle yes, lid no. All the tech is in the lid. You can use a scrubber made for straws to clean the original one - not sure on this one yet. 😊

Can you tell about the straw? How does it feel when you drink from it? Is there more resistance compared to a normal straw bottle like a Hydroflask?

Looks like it won't fit in a standard bike bottle cage. They should make one if they don't already!
This one is too big but they do make a smaller one that could I think! Thanks for watching another one my friend! 🤙🏼
