I just discovered your channel! I am hugely spatially challenged, so I always buy too much fabric, just to be sure! This makes so much sense! Thank you thank you!
This is a start because I done sewing in 9th grade back in the 80’s. Now in retail it keeps hunting me because I need to learn to cut for customers. This video helps me out. So, now I’m aware if a customer asks for a 40 inch. I would measure 20 inch twice and while it’s double fold then I cut fabric together but now I need to learn how do I price it for the register. Thank you for helping this 58 yr old
Great idea! But did I miss something? You folded the fabric with selvedges in the middle and then placed a sleeve piece on top. I only see that working when the fabric has just one fold. Love your videos!!
Thank you so much for this! I’m making a 1870s skirt for my homecoming dance (the theme is 70s and I hate the 70s- I’m more of a goth person-). I’m really paranoid that I’m not gonna get enough fabric, but this helps so much!!
What a great idea with the painters tape!
Thank you! 😊

When I saw the title I thought How much fabric to buy?? All the fabric!!! Thanks for your video for when I am felling more logical and sane!
I mean, all the fabric is the appropriate response when you win the lottery 🙂
Thanks!!!! I was looking for formulas and online calculators this is way more practical!!
Glad it was helpful!

Ha, you're right, I missed that without actual fabric! That method would get me one sleeve but not two.

Have fun! And my rule of thumb is to buy a little extra if I can - I can always use the extra for something else.
Can you please explain the difference between a one way and two fabric? To calculate CU
I don't understand what you're asking at all.
Thank you!
You're welcome
Helped a lot! But I am still like 1/4 confused.
The best way is to lay it out and actually do it yourself
Centimeters. Meters
Meters
Meters!!!!!
Not in the U.S. where I live. Feel free to use a conversion calculator.
