Check out Conditions of my parole by Puscifer the directors cut. True Maynard comedy gold.
Maynard definitely is one you can trust to have "the remedy," seeing as he is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Maymard also did a colab with the deftones called passenger. Great song plus maynards voice with chinos voice..effin haunting. Love it!
The way Maynard breaks up syllables, and his use of breath, makes his lyrics sound different. Maynard also likes to add effects to his voice in much of his work. Vocals are often mixed in the back with Tool, which is done on purpose. Maynard has said that he sees his voice as just another instrument in Tool. Tool isn’t Maynard’s band, but rather they see themselves as a collective. The other members of Tool compose all the music, and once that’s complete, they send it to Maynard, who then adds his poetry. You couldn’t replace any part of Tool and maintain their genius. Puscifer is Maynard’s project, his “creative subconscious” as he has described it, and he invited others to join him. Carina Round is the female vocalist in Puscifer, and her voice goes so well with Maynard’s. Mat Mitchell is the other member of Puscifer.
'With all that racket from your lips-a-flapping, we assumed you didn't notice.'
One of the best insults in a song it’s so lovingly passive agressive 😂
Maynard is also holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he's really does have 'The Remedy' ! LOL
All 3 bands that MJK sings in are incredible! I always go see them live when they come. Never been disappointing.
I read in his book that he learned this cadence from his cross country coach in high school. He was taught to breathe in that cadence while he ran and he’s adapted it to his singing.
He was in the military, too.
You're gonna love this dude. Quality, wise, it doesn't make the best reaction, but you should check out the "fan incident". Just a fun little way Maynard reacts to a fan rushing stage while performing the song "pushit"
Tool, Puscifer and Perfect Circle are all Manard’s bands. He writes then decides the sound and which band he wants to put the song to. One of the reasons years can go by between albums. Amazing artist.
He american, He lives in Jerome, Arizona by me, his winery is there. He's singing intentionally that way he's got different ways this is just one of them
Saw this performed live during the Sessanta Tour in Salt Lake. Show was phenomenal...
Oh , MAAN!!! You are hitting all my buttons with choice of music you react. This song was reason to go to their concert!
Of course loving Tool I also like A perfect circle and Puscifer too❤😊 Maynards voice is unique and beautiful
Maynard is American, but Carina is from the UK. Regardless, Maynard always plays will his syllables and that makes his music always intriguing. You mentioned that in Tool his voice sometimes takes a back seat, and that’s by design. He even performs live standing on the back of the stage and not right up front. He wants it to be about the whole experience and not detract. With Puscifer, this is his project. It’s where all the thoughts inside of his head get put on paper. He is also the lead singer of A Perfect Circle. Another banger of a band with a whole array of amazing songs. The Maynard rabbit hole is very big.
Check out "The Humbling River" and "The Mission" both by Puscifer. They are really good too.
Puscifer was originally created by Maynard as a fake band, one of a number used for comedy routines when he went through a period of involvement in that scene in LA. Maynard has a rather bawdy sense of humor (obviously) that you can also experience in many TOOL songs, such as 'Rosetta Stoned'. If you watch Puscifer's videos and posts, there are ongoing peculiar skits and characters and storylines. The briefcase and aliens are reoccurring themes. The 'Bullet Train to Iowa' video is a more extended example of this, and it's an AWESOME song.
This was fantastic! Thank you Russ!
"Trolls recieve 86s."
Being kicked out of an establishment is called being 86ed.
Karina has one of the most beautiful voices I ever heard♡ puscifer is incredible if you want to understand the breafcase react to the song Theorem ❤
Finally get to see him. 😅. For a lead singer of 3 really great bands he does not really like the attention. Sober live is one you get to see him, but it is from the early 90s. Most Tool songs live anymore he is in the back by Danny Carey. If you really paid attention to the Pnuema live towards the end you can see his outline in the background. To hear some amazing songs with his power i would recommend "The Grudge" by Tool and "Judith" by Perfect Circle.
Now you gotta get into some A Perfect Circle. 3 Libras, The Noose, so many goodies.
❤ Puscifer
Check out their tracks Queen B or Grand Canyon. Or Conditions of my Parole or Dear Brother
Great song, sung perfectly. Maynard has the most original way of expressing the messages in his lyrics. 💜
So many rabbit holes with Maynard. I have a tool list and a Maynard list which is faves from his other two bands.
The man in the video disappeared into the briefcase, The briefcase is a running theme in puscifer, especially off the existential reckoning tour
When you said “Let it breeeaath” I laughed. They have a song called breath and it sounded like you were singing the chorus.
Maynard is not the lead singer of Tool, he's the only singer in Tool
The band is from another planet
Both Maynard and Carina sound like additional instruments. They don't sing over the top of the music, they are part of the music.
Time for.. a perfect circle?
This one is probably the most famous song
MJK has a dynamic vocal style. And he approaches vocals and lyrics differently with each band. tool, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle.
But even within a song, he's dynamic. Listen to The Pot again, and focus on him. He's every but the kusician that the other 3 band members are.
Try some A Perfect Circle. 👌
The lyrics really do hit hard. Who doesnt desire to check trolls like that. Sup Mike
Just listen to the girl she's amazing
Watch his third band A Perfect Circle song "Judith." His mother suffered at the end of her life, and his anger at God.
I'll recommend Puscifer's song "Galileo"
MJK is from the U.S. The other singer, Carina Roumd is English.
Has anyone requested the live clip of MJK using his BJJ on a fan yet??? If not, why?
I shouldn't have to take time out of my day to do such things. 😁
It's pronounced "SKism". Great reactions!
Maynard is in another band called a perfect circle again another good band maybe check them out sometime?
The cadence and flow of Maynard's melodies are very odd and throw people often. His phrasing and rhythm in how the words are put to the music is very different, which is one reason Tool can be difficult to get into for people used to standard rock and pop music. It is also a huge reason I can listen to him over and over again and never get sick of it. It is always just odd enough to not be predictable in any way.
Ink and depth 'kay
Hey!
Could you react to: Mad Twinz X Zhang Ze - Mongolian Freq
Super dope song!
love wins all by iu and v pls
I think its considered psychedelic rock and progressive rock
He's definitely more vocal with Pusifer than he is with Tool
Oh the irony
Yeah dude, he was born in Ohio.
Trastevere,Maneskin!!!!reaction!!!!!!!!!
Young Miko:BZRP music sessions vol.#58 please
No, you don't really get to see him. He is just a beautiful blurr.
Sorry if I'm a numbnut but I just can't read all the comments. I assume you've been prodded to check out all kinds of shit. Fiddle and the drum. Slide Maynard together with Ren
Go back to the Tool song, Jimmy.
You'll find out where he's from.
Edit: I could be very wrong, but I believe that Maynard had grown up in wrestling and ROTC with an abusive father figure. Hence his bitterness.
React to Afraid by Johnnie Guilbert
Carina Round is from England
