- This video is about retrofitting oem led tail lights on a BMW 330ci | e46. In part 1, I show the parts needed to do this retrofit and how to install them. In part 2 I will show how to code the led tail lights to your car and how to code Force Brake Display. You can follow this guide to install aftermarket as well however it will be a bit different but the same general idea. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR PART 2.

Thanks / it was helpful how you showed the removal of the driver side tail light lens from the body. I agree about the liner - to get that third bolt on the driver side. Doing it in the cold around freezing and it is really really tough. The liner is very very difficult to bend - tried even to heat up the trumk by pulling down the rear seat!
Back in the olden days this would have been a five minute job Dash just three screws the outside of the lines. Never from the inside!

Hey man, just found your UA-cam-channel and I'm loving it! Have one question about the taillights, on my e46 I have the same led taillights but my back dimlights are also lighting up with the led breaklights. Do you know how to turn off those dimlights? :)

Dude. i have big question. I have late 2003 bmw 318ci coupe. the car is facelift so it has led tail lights. however the left side has some burnt leds. so i need to switch the whole unit with new leds. does it need coding as well? also do i need to unplug the battery before the process to prevent any warning light to come off?
The new light does not need to be coded. No need to unplug your battery

They are not!

If you want new oem Ecs tuning or fcp. If you used oem eBay. If you want aftermarket check out eBay also.

It will work but you could have lights warnings on your dash and a tamper light

FCP = best place to get parts. Yes it will work on your car

@@EvanGoyuk I have OEM 8pin LCI LED connectors what came with tail lights. But pre-face have got 6pin connectors.
So why does it mean when the blinking green light comes on the module?
On the light control module?
@@EvanGoyuk yes. I swapped them and the taillights work. The light blinks when the lights are on (auto mode)

These are considered to be "tasteless" here where I live. People try to get the original stock lights.
These are original facelifted oem tail lights NOT aftermarket. These tail lights are extremely desirable among e46 owners
I can barely hear you!!!! There is also NO PART LISTING in your desc....
I like most of your vids, but don't see much difference in these replacements from the originals. That's not enough of a difference to me, to warrant all the work and expense. If I'm going to put led taillights on my E46, they would have to be the rail LEDS, like what is on the new 5 series. Those taillights are nasty looking! Not interested in something that looks almost exactly like the originals. JMHO.
I like they look way better and are oem. They are super bright. I personally love the individual led look
