- When fishing pulling on the rod with certain timing triggers Tec +1, Tec +2, Tec +3 and finally Tec +4. I can only get the timing down for Tec +3 but if you can get the timing down for 4 please send me the video of the timing. For Tech 3 my best explanation would be to pull, pull, break, pull for Tec+3 you can do it left to right or just with the X button. Managed to get Tec +4 once and the color on the number is kinda golden looking.

Set a metronome to 156 and follow the rythm, you'll get the +4 every time

the metronome thing worked for me too.
except i'm still not skilled enough to pull it off consistently.
it did help me to figure out what i was doing wrong though.
I dunno who designed this tec system. they must be really musically inclined and it was super easy to them so they thought players would do it easily too. without it needing to be explained. yeah, it shows it in the instructions but it's not really intuitive. you just see xx--x-x and it says 7 count.
what actually helped to do it was to count along with the metronome and say 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7.
i always thought that for the - sections, i was supposed to press a direction and that i was supposed to see it go tec+1,tec+2,tec+3 then build up to tec+4, but if you see tec+3 then you did it wrong. when you do it right, you will see tec+2,tec+1,tec+4.
it's way too difficult to be worth it though. i'm pretty sure all tthose years ago when this first came out on ps1 and i played it, i got the 9500 points to be "The Fish" without ever having to get better than a tec+2.
each level of tec mastery is a whole order of magnitude more difficult than the previous.
tec + 2 is super easy, just tap x twice.
tec +3 is tap x twice, pause then tap x again, but it's 10 times as hard to do. i can pull it off once for every time i get a tec+2.
and then the tec+4, i managed to pull it off but it's 10 times harder than tec+3, which makes it theoretically 100 times harder than the tec+2.

Yea it does not really effect anything big so getting Tech 3 is more than good.
I got the timing down for tec+4. I can do it regularly but not quite every time.
Should make a video once you get it down tho getting Tech 3 or 4 will not make any big differences one or the other is good enough.
