I know where there is a all original unrestored 289 Cobra here in Phx. It sat in yard near side of road near my old house. Windshield frame was removed so everyone thought it was just a MG or similar. Last I knew it remained untouched and is still driveable.
You guys need to make a video celebrating the life of Mickey Thompson.March 21st was the 20th (I think) anniversary of he and his wife's murder. :-(Plus I never knew somebody was convicted in the case.
Great episode! Lynn is such a great, honest, and sincere person. He has been "into" Cobras since they were new. That garage is a magical place, better than many museums. He isn't afraid to drive them and race them. Having grown up a few blocks away from him my ears always knew when he was out driving one of them!
WOW, Lynn - you are the man. This is unbelievable, I am in awe of your collection, your knowledge and patience to assemble these great cars. Tom, you MUST give us part two with Lynn and his cars - PLEASE.
This is one of the coolest guys I've seen on here yet, able to appreciate that we don't live in a perfect world and not striving for perfection, just enjoying his cars and how they are.
This guy new the A/C , CSX Cobras were diamonds in the rough a long time ago. He was smart, kept his mouth shut and anything Shelby was something he'd buy. Just a smart and very cool dude. He deserves all the stuff he has.
Tom’s Garage is EPIC. It looks like one of those “magazine holy grail” type of photos. His place should be a museum or at least a place where you can go, hang out and drink a coffee or a beer and just look at all the eye candy. His collection should never be broken apart. That is utter coolness. I only wish he lived closer to me!
Tom, you gave us enough video just to “whet our appetites”. Ten minutes is not enough time with this man and his collection. You could of spent ten minutes per car with this man and his stories and another ten minutes of him talking about the memorabilia hanging on his garage walls. After all, these are Cobras and this man was truly interesting with a great collection.
That repro cobra is absolutely fantastic . All the charm and character of a well worn original but totally usable every day. That man has a fantastic philosophy and a good eye .
That blue Cobra is the perfect Cobra. Drive it anywhere. Take it to the supermarket. Take it to the show, 'go ahead, put your coffee cup and burger on the hood :)
This is such a great show! I saw Tom at the Bullitt Mustang preview in Amelia Island. He was talking to a few people and I wish I would have stuck around longer to say hello and give him kudos for a great show. Thanks Tom and thank you Hagerty for the videos and a GREAT Bullitt Preview. Top Notch!!!
Hey Barn Find Hunter and Hagerty. I am loving the series. Can I say how refreshing it is to have a show in which 'reality' is actually reailty? The more I watch this series, the more I wish it does not end. For a long time I thought that all good barn finds have been discovered. For a while I have thought that, all the barn finds left are the classic 40's to 50's cars. Sadly, where I live, finding the cars that I would like to own and restore one day are definitely not here (Australia). My favourite cars are the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 and as shown in this video, the 289 Cobra. There is something special about cars that I do not think some people get. Whether it be the lines, the engine or the sound of the engine. Don't get me wrong, electric cars are good but the fake engine noise is where it gets me and it makes me sad to think that in a generation or two, people in the future may not be able to experience something as simple as the vibration the engine makes when you turn the key in the ignition. So thank you guys for this series and for keeping people's love for cars alive :). Out of interest, how did it cost to actually build the blue 289 Cobra from the mish-mash of parts (just so this 23 year old can start already planning)?
The Cobra is definitely one of the best British cars of the 1960s, and they made lots and lots of cars back then too! Along with the Jaguar E-type, Aston Martin DB5, more from Rolls-Royce and Bentley and no end of amazing manufacturers. Great Britain will never make the amount of great cars they used to...
I love the Michael Goodwin connection to the race car, a little creepy but a lot of people don't know that he was a former business partner of Mickey Thompson and was convicted of having Mickey and his wife murdered on March 16, 1988 almost exactly 30 years ago.
I was told quite a bit about that story by Ed Justice Jr. who knew those people and details I had not heard. I wondered what happened to the murderers...often those guys eventually say something to someone and it gets around. They may have been from another country and left right away. Ed thinks they got "offed" themselves.
Geez. The early AC Cobras were so famous! If I had the money, I would surely have one, yes sir. They fascinated me from the get-go, but I’ve never made enough to get behind having one. Oh, well.
I was a full service gas station attendant as a kid and would sweep the floors at the local car genius' shop after work. He was a guy that built exhausts and people would come from all over just to have headers done. I couldn't believe the cars I had a hand in that would be on the covers of magazines a couple months later. One of them was the polished CSX continuation aluminum bodied car, but this makes my head hurt in a good way to know that they are out there. As a person that landed at LAX and found the Peterson Museum with a $3 Metro Pass in under 24 hours? I'm picking up what you are putting down.
Why Is This Series Not On Velocity Yet?? A True, Likeable Car Guy With Amazing Stories!! The Cobras Are Amazing!! I Swore The Blue One Was Also An Original!! Haha!!
Oh my God ! How many Cobras does this gentleman owns ?? Good Lord ! I have no interest in the 427s but a 289 !! Oh my. Say, Tom, do you still have THE 289 that you brought back East with our friend Peter Egan years ago ? One epic road trip I read about in Road&Track in awe !
Nice! I would have loved to find one of those... closest I ever came was finding a wretched one in a junkyard.. too far gone, but I got the engine and trans out of it... 427 side oiler.. and stuck it into a 66 f100... lol but I did find a “68” Chevy back in 84... went to look at it, got into the old lady’s barn, and I couldn’t believe what I’d found!it was a corvette, I drained covered and on blocks... the lady said her son bought it brand new and got sent to Nam, and got killed... ... she asked for 50 bucks... I gave her 500...it had around 1200 miles on it
I remember finding by accident a 289 Cobra in a driveway on Coronado Island, San Diego in the area, in the early 80's, that looked dirty, as if sitting awhile and uncovered. I was really surprised that such a car would not be better stored like in his garage. Knocked on the door and a guy answered...asked if it was for sale and he said yes...told me it was a "competition model". I was not familiar enough to know the variations of the small block Cobras. I was thinking around $20,000...he wanted $35,000. That put and end to my interest...wonder know just what it was and where it went.
You can get a base spec Factory five Cobra for $13k. A pretty affordable option for those unable to raise the small fortune it would require to purchase the original. There was one of them on Hoonigans recently, it broke it's own driveshaft.
Tom is absolutely the real deal. It's just pure unadulterated Tom. I think if I met Tom on the street, He'd be the same way as on the show. Here's the meaning of Unadulterated...._not mixed or diluted with any different or extra elements; complete and absolute_

You got that right 🚗🚗🚗
He needs to share the love lol😂😂
So glad the dirt bag was saved. Thank you sir
Now this is a enthusiast collector. Look at his garage. Quality all the way.
My jaw was literally on the floor the whole time. The coolest collection I have ever seen in my life. This guy gets it.
A whole lot of history in that garage.
Lynn Park is one of my heroes....

Wow another extremely nice and humble man with a multi-million dollar collection. But PLEASE Tom make LONGER videos!!!!

Unbelievable.
I would do just about anything to be able to be a custodian of just one of these beauties.
History baby.
That repro cobra is absolutely fantastic . All the charm and character of a well worn original but totally usable every day. That man has a fantastic philosophy and a good eye .
Every time I watch this show, it just gets better and better! Amazing!!
Beautiful Collection. Really nice that this enthusiast give us the opportunity to see his wonderful garage and Collection!
It’s truly THE garage of the ages.
Lynn let my son Max and I drive this car.
Truly a special day
I've been there ,and all I can say is what an awesome man with an awesome collection of cars and memorabilia!!! An experience I will never forget!!
Every classic car needs an owner-caretaker like this guy.
Best bar find episode yet and I love them all.
Wow that is a great place to hang out. Ten minutes was not long enough. I really love this show. Thanks for taking us along.
Would love to hang out with Mr. Park and listen to his car stories all day.
That blue Cobra is the perfect Cobra. Drive it anywhere. Take it to the supermarket. Take it to the show, 'go ahead, put your coffee cup and burger on the hood :)
My thoughts exactly.
Woah so many cobras, truly amazing
Goosebumps ❤ This is what Cobra heaven looks like ❤ INCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish this video was longer this guy knows Cobras so would make a interesting video to explore some of his other stories.
It just amazes me that 1 man can collect so many amazing cars
Finally, an owner that knows what he’s doing.
This....Roadkill Garage and Jay Leno's Garage....it's all I watch as far as car shows go. The rest I can't get through more than about 30 seconds.
I like what the Delaware Destroyer mentioned. It would be valuable to know what sacrifices the collectors made to fuel such collections.
Been there for research and a few parts; unforgettable!
Awesome. What a cool dude.

I wish this video was longer. Very interesting stories and collection.
Geez. The early AC Cobras were so famous! If I had the money, I would surely have one, yes sir. They fascinated me from the get-go, but I’ve never made enough to get behind having one. Oh, well.

One of the best... Fun guy to listen to
The re-bodied car he made himself is my favorite. I'd want that before one that was in perfect shape.

Lucky bastard.
Lynn is the man!
Awesome episode, loved every second!
Holy Crap!! Talk about Cobra’s...wow!!
Wow thats Cobra heaven
Nice video as usual. I was expecting to see Tom at the piston power show in Cleveland this year.
I would love to spend a day with those cars to study them and see how they were made
I love theses videos. I wish they were longer and more frequent, but I'll gladly take what you give me lol.

Dave Howell why did you give 10x more than she asked
Marvel mystery oil really is awesome stuff. I use it regularly in my oil and gas. Won't do an oil change without it.
Thank you for being born!
Damn, now I want a patinated aluminum bodied Kirkham! $$$$$$$$$$$

Cars with a story ...
Ahhhhhhhh ...... Tom that was way too short! Haha
This is what heaven looks like.
What great find! Interesting to watch.
Remember Lynns' own words: " the Cobra, does EVERYTHING.....BETTER, than any other car on the road.... "
I liked this video so much. I think this guy is a gem. A++++
This guy rules!
Anticipating the next episode
Great story, thanks for sharing.
