    The irony is that the song is never played because it they thought it would be awkward, but it is actually really good live, especially the beginning.

      I've heard mixes where the bass was turned up. And no disrespect to Jason. But it sounds like shit. The bass was identical to the guitar played by James and it was drowning out the guitar.

    Fun fact: Earlier in the tuning room, Lars was nervous that he woudln't be able to nail this solo 4:01 infront all those people. And Lars asked James to be next to him when he does the drum part.

    Let's appreciate that this incredibly complex arrangement is both so tuneful and so powerful. "Frayed" might be their greatest songwriting achievement.

      Lars misses the mark on a lot of hits and the fills all get ahead of themselves. The tempo all throughout is really unsteady. It's not horrific, it's just bad enough to notice. Still, you should expect more from him.

      I thought this drum track was overdubbed because the 2014 version sounds like complete dog shit compared to this. It’s the exact same drumming though, whoever was in charge of their live concerts during this period really screwed them. It really sounded like they were falling apart 2011-2014 but now I’m convinced it was shit production.

    This whole album was their best overall. I understand why you'd go with Master or Ride, but something about this album is STILL underrated. The solos are Kirk's best (Dyer's Eve is insanity), and the riffs are classic mastermind Het.

      Greg Fidelman has been doing a great job remixing these live shots. As far as the AJFA album, they don't have to re-record the whole thing. They could have just took the upcoming remastered version, and mixed a new track of Rob's bass into it... It would sound better, but then again it might be a slap in the face to Jason personally, if it matters anymore.

    Amazing tour as well.
    This is one of my favorite songs of all, not just of Metallica which there are many. But of all metal.

    Kirk sure gets a lot of flak by all the keyboard- professionals the internet has to offer. But his solo on this video sounds as amazing as it was on the album. His sound is still very awesome to me and I will never get tired of this album. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸

      Yeah the problem is that those people focus on the off moments. And even pros are human. The reality is that often the very next week or day Kirk will play amazingly well again. Same goes for Axl Rose’s singing. People find the off nights from UA-cam and trash him but in reality if you were on tour with him he’ll sing like a god another night. People like to focus on the negative. And it’s easy to point fingers from behind a keyboard. These guys put themselves out there despite all of those comments and negativity and get on with it 👊

    Remember being there live for this and how freakkin cold it was! I flew from London the day before and almost didn't take a coat as it was 26 degrees the week before - when i got there it was 4! Had to buy a Raiders woolly hat in the Stockmann around the corner the day of the show. Great experience tho!

    This is a beast of a song , countless different chunky as F brutal riffs , one after another , I'd lose my mind if I saw them play this song live, what a hidden absolute jem of a track this is , been a good couple years since last time I've listened too it, dunno how but almost kinda forgot about it as I'm ashamed to admit , it was kinda worth it though cause listeninh to this live version of it for the first time is almost like listening to it for first time ever, kinda.
